  1. Live in Texas, don't have to wear a mask down here but if someone wants to wear one feel free. I am truly envious though of your beer selection Charles. Some pretty good beers down here in Texas but its pretty damn hard to beat a good Oregon IPA!
  2. Hey Joshua, Did you get a little pumped about this thread!?! like your takes though. I will say when I saw Butterfield play I thought he really saw the field better than Thompson. Don't know which one will take the next step but they both have talent. Just need one of them to see the light this year.
  3. Just saw on another site these additional attendees this weekend: 4 star Jaiden Ausberry 2023 LB 4 star Dylan Raiola 2024 QB 4 star Kyler Kasper 2023 Receiver 4 star Daylen Austin 2023 CB Darius Curry 2024 QB (unrated) 3 star My'Keil Gardner 2023 DL Wow! Dan Lanning and co. Kickin it right now!!
  4. Hate to be greedy can we get 4 from that list??
  5. Man I can't wait to see the new defense! With the talent the ducks have and more of an attacking scheme it's going to be fun watching them throttle some teams. Quarterback wise, I think it's expected that one of the young quarterbacks will be transferring after spring ball. That leaves us with two quarterbacks on the roster so I'm guessing we might take another for insurance via the portal. I expect we will see quite a surge in players entering the portal after spring ball (CFB wise). It will be interesting to see who becomes available and how many the staff will bring onboard.
  6. I'm definitely not a coach but when we used the pistol in under MC it seemed the running back was so far back that it gave the edge rusher time to cut inside and make a tackle or disrupt the running play for no gain. I'm not real excited about bringing that back but I do trust in KD and DL to use whatever sets and formations are needed to exploit the defense and make our offense explosive again. Can't wait for spring.
  7. Agree with you Mike and Jon. Ok I puked a little in my mouth when you said you wanted a strong Husky team. But I do like the idea of pods rather than divisions. More like the Premier league for soccer. Makes alot of sense.
  8. Caveat: I can't root for the Huskies to ever be that good.
  9. What if, what if, what if.. What if Oregon with Dan Lanning continues to recruit Top ten classes and outcoaches the Riley staff and beats a strong USC most of the time. With two strong programs the revenue dollars increase dramatically allowing the Pac-12 to elevate itself nationally above the ACC and on par with the Big-10 and the SEC. What if due to this resurgence the PAC-12 gets two teams into the playoffs on several occasions and Oregon wins the Playoff Championship. What if... Just for reference in the South it's all about the SEC. If it's not Alabama, it's Georgia, if not Georgia, Texas A & M or Florida etc. If your from the south you root for your team first and the SEC second. Not sure why in the PAC-12 footprint we have a hard time with that.
  10. Hey we are the conference of Olympic champions!! And we have our academic standards to uphold! It's not always about money!
  11. I told my wife during this last season all I wanted was just once I wanted the ducks to step on an opponents throat and not let up. How many times did we get a lead and then nearly squander it with prevent defense and a very predictable run up the middle offense. Instead of keeping to the game plan that got us the lead to begin with. Cristobal always played to not lose once he got the lead, which of course meant we would nearly lose the game in the end. Frustrating as hell and not what we were promised as duck fans.
  12. Love all this thoughtful insight. Makes me think which is hurting my brain. But like you Hayward, I'm wondering considering the current climate in LA how quickly Riley will be able to change the culture down there. It may take a couple years for USC to develop a winning culture even with the incoming talent. If they get down in the 4th quarter will they have the confidence and determination to come back and win those games? I'm not sure that will be the case right out of the gate next year. Jon, you are so spot on. It's football but more importantly now it's entertainment. Its all about money and eyeballs, eyeballs, eyeballs. The only way we survive as a conference (without becoming a lower tiered conference like the upcoming Big-12) is getting more eyeballs on the product we offer. And that only occurs if we have a USC (and maybe a few others) playing at a much higher level so that the east coast, Northeast, and the South sits up and takes notice. That leads to a lot more money via television rights (or streaming?) which then helps all the conference teams steup up even more.
  13. Thanks Jon for the Quarterback breakdown! If your fingers get itchy don't stop there give us your thoughts on other positions!
  14. It will be interesting to see if USC"s O-line holds up. Caleb Williams is an athlete no doubt. He will get pressured I'm curious to see how he does throwing the ball down field on the run. Can he keep his eyes down field and make accurate throws outside the pocket? Not sure we have a good answer to that one yet.
  15. Great! That whole alliance thing sure worked out good. Alot of change for the better.
  16. I could see Oregon entertaining a one game neutral site game with Miami. Arlington texas would work for me (live in Austin) and give us more exposure to the Texas recruits.
  17. And sometimes TWO teams from the SEC are invited to the cookout. Both with 1 losses.
  18. Hahaha. Big 12?!? I get the SEC but the Big 12?? USC is probably playing for the South division championship all the way to the last game. I would agree their offensive line is an issue but i don't think anyone in the PAC 12 will be able to exploit that to a great degree. Anyone in the college football playoff will expose that deficiency pretty quickly. Not to mention their defense. If anyone from the PAC 12 makes it to the playoff it needs to be Oregon or Utah. USC gets destroyed if they make it into the playoff next year.
  19. Everyone has an opinion and it's great we can express that. Thank you Charles for providing a forum for us duck fans to express our thoughts on our beloved ducks. Most of us really don't have any insight into the inner workings of what is going on behind the scenes. Nevertheless we have opinions. The one thing I don't want to have happen is what has taken place at Tennesse and Auburn and to some extent USC. Where alumni think they know better and sabotage the process ( probably not so much USC). Then you end up with chaos. USC just made stupid choices over the last decade but Tennessee and Auburn alumni they practically burnt down the house to get what they wanted We are ducks and bottom line if we stick together we will prevail. GO DUCKS!!!!
  20. Not a person with any inside knowledge but I bet there are a few here that do have some intel. My question is I see Josh Connerly 5* tackle and Lebbeus Overton 5* defensive tackle are both unsigned planning on signing in the near future, both have Oregon listed as a finalist, do we really have a shot with either of these guys? I know Lebbeus is a package deal with his transfer portal brother. I suspect that if either do actually want to be ducks that we will make room for them some how. Any thoughts on this?
  21. Agree. Utah and USC should battle for the south. That should be a really good game on Oct 15 at Utah. That should draw some eyeballs. Could even get Game day possibly (haven't looked at the other teams playing that week). If USC wins I still think at this point that we play them in the title game and beat them!! I'm not sure who in the North is good enough to win more games then we will. I'm a fan so I always have my green colored glasses on when making predictions even when I'm trying to be unbaised. It's a sickness in a good way!
  22. This is a way to early prediction and again USC is getting the hype. Finishing 2nd in the Pac-12 with Oregon 4th. I guess if you keep picking USC to be good you eventually you will get it right! We'll see where the chips fall at the end of the season. USC will no doubt be better but I love how the media guys always pick USC as their darling pick to be either a playoff contender or right up there challenging for the conference championship every year. I think Riley is a good coach just not sure he can turn it around that quickly. My money is on Oregon finishing ahead of USC this year.... well actually almost every year! Go Ducks!!
  23. Yes it seemed by the end of the season our best hope was a 3rd and 4. If it was 3rd and 9,10 or more we had no hope of stopping them. I'm so ready for a Dan Lanning defense! Go Ducks!!
  24. Got to say Axel that was a great take! I would love to see the Trojans in the Pac-12 title game and I think a lot of other people would love to see that game also. Riley vs Lanning the two new heir apparents of the Conference. Who will come out on top! That would be the rekindling of a beautiful rivalry......assuming the Ducks win of course!
  25. IPO We need USC to be good along others in the Pac-12 as this will draw eyeballs to the conference that translates in to dollars when we renegotiate our television contracts. Oregon can't do it by themselves. The $$ per team right now compared to the Big 10, ACC, and SEC are terrible and the only way that improves (without adding additional markets and teams) is with better performance on the field so that the PAC-12 is relevant. Besides it's funnier (that may not be word but I'm going with it) to watch our Ducks beat a good USC team. Think back to the blackout in Eugene, we had DeAnthony and USC was good (not great), that was a game everyone wanted to see on a National level.
