  1. Exactly Drake. This was a HUGE failure of the PAC-12 school presidents. Hiring Larry Scott was obviously a mistake but to not correct that misstep 5 years ago was just criminal. The demise of the PAC-12 is just as much the fault of the PAC-12 school presidents as it is Larry Scott. I feel sick to my stomach over this but we (Oregon) has to move on now and make the best move for the University. Moving to the Big 10 is the best option along with a few other teams from the PAC. The financial payout we will receive each year once a member of the Big 10 will be huge. I hate to say this but this could actually be a boon to Oregon going forward. I never hoped or wanted the end of the PAC-12 but now that it's here the additional $$ we receive plus playing across so many time zones against teams with large fan bases will only enhance the Oregon brand.
  2. That is well laid out Dazenconfused! So Fox instigates USC and UCLA moving to the Big10 knowing that the PAC-12 can't survive if that happens. Which in turn leads to the rest of the PAC-12 scrambling to find a landing spot. With the hope the final outcome is a Big10 Super conference, which will be formed just in time for their new contract to be negotiated with the Big10. Allowing Fox to outmaneuver ESPN. It's ALWAYS ABOUT THE MONEY!
  3. Oregon is going to be a big draw tv wise no matter what conference they go to. The teams back east either north or south never get to see how their team stacks up against a good west coast team like Oregon and that will be a big draw to Ducks fans and Big 10 or SEC fans. They want to see that product. We just have to live up to our end of the bargain and beat them when we play them (maybe not all the time but more than 50% of the time) and that will generate even more interest.
  4. I don't see a clear way for Miami or any of the other ACC schools to make a move right now unless the ACC waives their buyout fee. It would cost a school a huge amount of money right now to leave the ACC. I'm not an expert on this does anyone have any thoughts on how that could actually happen?
  5. Not from a geographic point of view form a money point of view. How much did it cost USC & UCLA to leave the PAC-12....zilch! Every other conference has a buyout. It's all about the money and that made the decision an easy one, unfortunately.
  6. Just my prediction but I think Oregon, Washington, USC, & UCLA will be in the Big10, possibly Cal or Stanford & maybe Utah. Only 6 though. That will be the Western pod of the Big 10. We will play our fellow pod members every year and our traditional rival (Oregon State for us) as an out of conference game every year. Probably 4 additional games against other Big 10 teams and two out of conference teams. Notre Dame is in the conference if they want it I think they stay independent. The rest of the Pac-12 is probably destined for the Big-12. I never thought I would see the demise of the Pac-12 in my lifetime, but to many bonehead decisions by the people in charge left the conference vulnerable and easy pickins. Looking back on it now the Pac-12 was the most obvious conference to get picked off.
  7. This all about the money. It sounds like Washington and Oregon may have already applied for admission to the Big 10 and that makes total sense. It will be interesting to see what the light of day tomorrow has in store for us.
  8. In my mind, if USC & UCLA are going to the Big 10, then Oregon and Washington are also going to the Big 10. It's a done deal. Not sure how many more of the PAC-12 they take but I think those 4 teams are in for sure.
  9. Been thinking about this a little now. The logistics for USC & UCLA playing in the Big 10 will be a nightmare. Both these schools have a lot of competitive sports programs and compete for National Championships in other sports. Trying to play league games against teams on the other side of the country will be an absolute nightmare for many of these sports and no picnic for football either. I would not be surprised if the Big 10, once USC & UCLA reached out to them, started planning for the breakup of the PAC-12. They must have realized that the PAC-12 couldn't survive without USC & UCLA. They also (both the Big 10 and USC & UCLA) realized that the scheduling and playing issues would be massive with just two teams out west. But if they cherry picked a few more teams out west which would form a west pod (Oregon, Washington, maybe Stanford and Cal) so that these teams could schedule each other in all sports that would pretty much solve the logistics issue. I think the big picture there are a lot more shoes to drop in this one.
  10. I still think the Big 10 would be interested in Oregon. Oregon draws eyeballs like no other team in the PAC-12. With all the Nike support and national attention we get I think the BIG 10 would seriously consider Oregon as a member. In this day and age the media market isn't just local. Oregon draws nationally, maybe not like an Alabama or even Ohio State but there ain't many of those around.
  11. This is the end of the PAC-12. The clowns in control had their chance going all the way back to Texas and Oklahoma almost joining and then most recently when Texas and Oklahoma moved to the SEC. Once that happened it was only a matter of time. The PAC-12 has been that Ostrich that sticks it's head in the ground and hopes when it pulls it head out everything will be better. Well now your in the pooh pooh. The only options I see for our Ducks are join the Big 10 or go independent and going independent is a helluva hard ride. Unfortunately we don't have any time at this point. Mullins and the UofO president need to earn their salaries on this one and start talks with the Big 10 yesterday. Hang on to your hats people this ride could bet bumpy!
  12. Boy I hope we get Dante Moore but I'm not getting my hopes up on this one. After watching the fiasco with Nico and now Jayden Wayne I'm kind of expecting somebody to swoop in and offer a bunch of $$$$$ for him to play at another school at the last minute. Hope I'm wrong but I've seen this show before..
  13. Wow so it sounds like Ruiz is using IMG as a farm system for Miami now?!? It seems about time for some rules here on NIL. NCAA is pretty powerless but a better system needs to be put in place.
  14. There ain't a chance in you know what that the leg humpers beat us in recruiting not even close. Just to be clear how badly we are beating them in recruiting we took the no 1 rated player out of Washington last year. We have a great shot at taking the no 1 player out of Washington this year and the no 2 player out of Washington and possibly the no 3 player. We are kicking their ass in their own state....that's gotta hurt!! But I'm sure there are some low browed husky fans crowing that they are beating the Ducks in recruiting right now. Idiots!
  15. Yeah JDuck, you had to bring up Herbert. It makes me a little sick just thinking how Mario wasted that young man's talent. Just think how explosive this offense would be with Herbert running it. With his talent, OMG we would be putting up some ginormous numbers. I'm just hoping Bo can be the best Bo possible. Cuz if he is we gonna take some people out behind the woodshed this year!
  16. We so screwed the pooch when we had the chance to add teams from the Big 12 when Texas and Oklahoma first announced their decision to move to the SEC. The PAC-12 presidents are stuck in the past and they blew it!! I don't know if we will ever get that opportunity again. I know staying put as the PAC-12 with all that is happening ain't going to cut it in the future. My hope is when the time comes and the opportunity presents itself in whatever form it comes, we (the Pac-12) don't crawl back into our shell and hide but jump this time.
  17. I think we are in prime position for Dante but.. My biggest concern at this point is another school with deep pockets coming in and offering a boat load of money, ala Jayden Rashada or Nicholaus Iamaleava and steals him at the last minute. The crystal balls were in Oregon's favor for Nicholaus prior to his visit to Tennessee and the ridiculous amount of money they threw at him. Fingers crossed on this one.
  18. Ty always had impressive physical tools. Throwing with 300 lb linemen rushing you with 2.5 seconds to find the open receiver and making the throw is a quite a different story. Time will tell if he makes the mental jump.
  19. Ok Axel you hit it out of the ball park again, seriously funny!! Kudos also to Vandownbytheriverduck. You guys please don't stop with your posts that was hilarious!!
  20. The most prestigious facility(s) in the US for track & field and it's not even a close. And the history of Hayward field goes back to when I was a kid and believe me that was a looong time ago. I'm sure Phil is very involved in the process of bringing a new coach to Eugene and will make sure the $$ are available to pay whoever it is. Getting a top flight coach to Eugene will not be a problem!
  21. Hitting 100 every day this week in Austin and over most of Texas, so for a lot of these kids it's going to be perfect! Sunny and not to hot! That's great recruiting weather! I smell commitments coming!!!
  22. On the offensive side, everyone has to be on their game. The offensive line has to give Bo time to throw. The wide receivers have to step it up a notch and get open quickly and Bo has to make good decisions and make quick and precise throws. Georgia won't give us 4 seconds to throw the ball. Time for this talented wide receiver room to show up and show out.
  23. Being an optimist with green colored glasses, I'm going to assume that Dillingham gets more out of the talent on the offensive side then Mario ever could. Also I think special teams is going to be a huge difference maker for us this year. we were horrendous the last couple years considering the talent we have that alone is worth at least 1 game. In Dan I trust so on the defensive side I think scheme and talent will combine to improve our defense noticeably. Not to mention a few less injuries this year (knock on wood). Overall a loss to Georgia and Utah 10-2 in the regular season and then we come back in a thriller to beat Utah in a rematch in the title game. Then we beat Michigan in the Rose bowl.
  24. It's always fun to watch the Trojans start out with sky high expectations and then fall flat on their face(s).
