  1. The whole come to our conference and play holds no water. Here is a list of P5 schools moving conferences during the 2011-2012 seasons. The only conference not to have a new school win a division in the 1st four years is the Pac 12. Missouri won the SEC East in year 2 and 3. Texas A&M with all Big 12 recruits gave Alabama their only loss of the season in 2012. Missouri performed the same their 1st 3 years in the SEC as the Big 12. Texas A&M actually performed better in the SEC than the Big 12. Does the SEC play good football absolutely, but trying to compare conferences is apples to oranges. They all have their own quirks. The records below don't give the whole story because nothing will, but it is the closest one can get with come play in our conference. It has been done and the SEC is on par with the rest of the P5 conferences. Year Missouri year Texas A&M year Colorado year Utah 2012 2-6 2012 6-2 2011 2-7 2011 4-5 2013 7-1 (1st) 2013 4-4 2012 1-8 2012 3-6 2014 7-1 (1st) 2014 3-5 2013 1-8 2013 2-7 2015 1-7 2015 4-4 2014 0-9 2014 5-4 Before 18-8 Before 16-10 Before 13-23 Before 33-6 After 17-9 After 20-6 After 8-29 After 18-19 year Nebraska Year W. 2. Multiple options. One was breaking away and do their own thing.
  3. Ducks got the 3rd point and advance. They are also winning match 5.
  4. Ducks take match 1. 2nd match they are up 2 with 2 holes to play. They are up in 3 of the 4 remaining matches. Stanford was struggling, but has started to turn it around. However, it is still up in the air.
  5. I find it odd, only John Canzano says the team must be sold. In 2019, Jody and the VP said the Seahawks weren't for sale. No idea if they were lying. It will be 4 years in October since Mr. Paul Allen passed away. If the trust called for a sale, my assumption is the sale would happen quickly. Not 4 years later, but I have no idea about billionaire trusts or billion dollar corporations getting sold after the owner's death. I will never give Canzano clicks, so maybe he explained how he came by the information and the exact phrasing of sale.
  6. How the quarterfinals ended up: Stanford vs Georgia 3 & 2 Auburn vs UCLA 3 & 2 Texas A&M vs FSU 3 & 2 Oregon vs San Jose St. 4 & 1
  7. How they do golf for the championship is definitely unique to the NCAA. First four days, team score, then the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals are match play. Match play makes it interesting. You could have played the overall course with not as good of a score, but only need to win enough holes to actually win the match. The Oregon women have been playing great golf all season, so I like their chances.
  8. What am I missing? Most of the country could care less if they wouldn't be part of the CFP. College is way more local than professional sports. Could the SEC stage its own college football playoff? It's all on the table at spring meetings WWW.ESPN.COM Would the SEC think about really shaking up the college football landscape with its own playoff? Greg Sankey addresses that and more ahead of the league's spring meetings next week. Texas 29.7 mil Florida 21.9 mil Georgia 10.8 mil Tennessee 7.0 mil Missouri 6.1 mil South Carolina 5.3 mil Alabama 4.9 mil Oklahoma 4.0 mil Arkansas 3.0 mil Mississippi 2.9 mil Total 95.6 mil US has 332 million people. Less than 1/3 of the population would have any type of rooting interest in the SEC. Do they really think the TV deals would be great if they broke off? The only reason why most people watch other conference games is to see what the competition is doing. If the SEC broke off, why would anybody from the ACC, Pac 12, Big 12 or B1G TEN care? I know I wouldn't care. I hardly watch any SEC as is.
  9. My buddy was talking about this. If I heard correctly, they will have a putting green that is adjustable. Not just moving the hole, but adjusting the height of the whole green.
  10. “I kind of wanted to get out because I hate the cold weather. But honestly, Oregon's just like Track Town, USA, so it was kind of hard to not count them in,” Williams said. “In reality they were still in the back of my head.” https://www.dailyemerald.com/sports/who-says-home-grown-can-t-be-world-class/article_894d5984-dabe-11ec-a759-87b0d21d88e2.html

  15. The Pac 12 shouldn't be concerned with the B1G TEN, however if keeping 9 conference games, keeps the B1G TEN happy that eventually hamstrings the SEC, then so be it. Dead horse, all P5 conferences should have the same number of conference games.
  16. The 2 games vs the Heat in the EC semis, PP has the best +/- at +38 for the Celtics. Brown is +31, but with only 1 game played.
  17. Saban's mention of Texas A&M buying players was in a room full of Alabama boosters. He was basically telling his boosters to open up their wallets and make sure they have enough money to keep recruiting the players they need to keep winning.
  18. I'm not a Saban fan, but I loved how he called out Texas A&M(Jimbo) and Jacksonville St. (Deion). As far as we know neither school broke any rules, but they absolutely bought players. Alabama bought players. Just about every school has bought players with the new NIL deals. The venom both responded to Nick, kind has me feeling they might not be on the up and up with everything. Should have just responded, we are using the new NIL guidelines to our advantage.
  19. Pac 12 - 12 teams B1G TEN - 14 teams Big 12 - 14 teams in 2023 & 2024, 12 in 2025 ACC - 14 teams plus ND SEC - 14 teams in 2022-24, 16 in 2025 Even with every conference playing the same number of conference games, the schedules will never be equal. With "rules" being in place requiring teams to play other teams within a certain number of years, conferences can't make up the schedule every year to ensure as equal scheduling as possible. At the very least, every conference should play the same number of conference games as the others to be eligible to be part of the CFB. B1G TEN and Pac 12 and Big 12 all play 9. Make that part of the deal. ACC is a lean towards 9 league games. ACC needs the rest of the conferences big time, so put pressure on them to put help put pressure on the SEC. SEC is the big dog, but they can't go solo. The G5 will follow whatever path they will be given. I have no idea why the Pac 12, ACC, B1G TEN and Big 12 don't reign in the SEC this next go around. If they tried to move away from the other power 5 conferences, they'd be done in 4 seasons.
  20. Great comparison Darren. Utah does feel like Wisconsin. Usually pretty good and some times winning the conference.
  21. Baseball America has Oregon the 2nd seed in the #8 regional vs Auburn. Which puts them about 25th ranked team. Not sure the Ducks can move up 9 spots to host as the 16th seed even with a sweep of Arizona. However, it is always good to go into the post season on a positive note, so a sweep would be really nice!
  22. Based on the last few seasons, the only teams the Ducks have around 50/50 or more chance to lose to are UGA, BYU, UCLA and Utah. As history shows, they could lose to any team at any time, but the floor to this season should be 8-4. I'd like to see improvements with penalties, special teams, O scheme and D scheme. Give me 8-4 and improvements in those 4 areas and I will consider it a successful season.
  23. I get the football and basketball teams shouldn't feel obligated to pay for other sports. However, it is the world we live in. I don't know the correct answer, but football and basketball should get something extra. Maybe, the NIL is that something extra. Those sports, so far have been the main recipients of NIL deals.
  24. I just now saw this from a 5/9/22 article. Member schools received new guidelines Monday saying that boosters or collectives who contact recruits or sign athletes to contracts that are contingent upon a player's attendance at a particular school are breaking NCAA rules. NCAA Division I Board of Directors releases new NIL guidelines regarding involvement of boosters WWW.ESPN.COM The NCAA's Division I Board of Directors on Monday published new name, image and likeness guidelines to clarify that boosters should not have any contact with prospective college athletes, their... Interesting... A booster signs a kid to go to their school, but then they transfer to another school. I'm assuming, they will be signing 3 month deals, 6 months, 1 year deals?
