  1. I hope they have good data presented infront of them. The only Ducks I see as a 1st, 2nd or 3rd round pick this year is KT and Mckinley. Wright is a 4th round at best this year. Much easier said for a guy who doesn't have to make the decision, but if you aren't going to be in the top 3 rounds, going out early seems like a bad move. However, maybe next years draft has more guys in your position coming out, so maybe that is the reason for some of the guys to leave when they still have another year. I'm good on CJ and Dye. They are nice RBs, but I'm not scared of the RB position if both leave.
  2. Tony T. is 52. At first glance, I'm not impressed with his previous jobs. Hopefully, he turns out to be good.
  3. I agree, JM wanted out. I don't know how much control MC has of firing a guy during the season, but I guess JM didn't want to find out. I feel JM had near complete control of the play calling for the tOSU game and the UCLA game. Those two games stood out to me as a pretty large separation of how the other games were called. tOSU still had a high percentage of run plays, but they weren't the typical run plays Oregon ran during the season. UCLA we went to the air the most all season.
  4. USC Wire confuses me with what they are trying to sell. Maybe, I'm the dope, but I don't want my OL and DL coach teaching X's and O's per se. I want my OC and DC being the X's and O's teachers. From the little I know about any of the coaches mentioned, they are good at their job coaching the OL and DL. I thought that is what a team wants? I love the comparison of how T. Lawrence crushed a team one of the guys was a DL coach. Yeah, because your team lost to a guy who appears to be a generational talent is how you should judge the coach.
  5. NIL changed everything. I can see a minor league forming, but the way NCAA is set up, it can't be with University ties. College football and men's basketball will be dramaticaly different in 5 years. The change hasn't fully hit and I'm not sure if most fans are going to be happy when we see the end product. I hope I'm wrong, but two of my favorit sports to watch might become something to turn to if nothing else is on. Deion Sanders is getting paid 1.2 million. A few college kids are getting paid more than him. NCAA limited scholarships in 1973. Yes, some teams were able to have an exhorbiant number of kids on a team back in the day, but that was when there were only 2 or 3 college games on for the whole weekend. Yeah, a kid is going to love to walk on to a team and take home 50K, but that kid is also going to want to see the field. He'll take his talents else were the next season. NCAA still has some control of football teams. Once they see teams hiding players as walk-ons, I do see them limiting the number of kids on a team. Looking at GoDucks.com, the Ducks have 130 kids on the roster. I know rosters are a bit bloated right now because of extra years granted because of COVID. However, before COVID it was common for schools to have 110-120 kids on their roster. Make a rule where you limit the number of kids on a roster regardless of scholarship or not.
  6. I think less trees would be better. It is so packed, most of it doesn't look like trees.
  7. There are millions of people who apply for a job, interview for a job and then don't accept the job. I know I have done it. There are plenty of reasons for applying and then turning down a job. That isn't atypical.
  8. And that is reason 1 million and 1 why I don't click on any of Canzano's articles. He is almost 100% click bait. I personally wouldn't call him a sports journalist or sports talk show host. I don't waste my time reading or listening to anything he writes or says.
  9. Conferences to talk about the early signing period. I guess it really wasn't a good idea to change from February to December.
  10. Brown went 10-3 and took the Ducks to the Pac 12 championship game. Did he play poorly for most of the games, yes. However, to say he did nothing is quite the overstatement. He had the 2nd most passing yards in the Pac 12. The 2nd most rushing yards as a QB in the Pac 12. He accounted for the 3rd most TDs as a QB in the Pac 12. He won the most games as a starting Pac 12 QB over all other Pac 12 QBs. Those are indisputable facts, no matter how much we don't want them to be. I have never been a AB fan and I never thought he was going to get the Ducks to the playoffs. However, he has absolutely earned the right to start the bowl game. I also believe unless he is playing like he did against tOSU or OSU, he should not finish the game. All of the other QBs have not played in 4 games to keep their year of eligibility, so I would definitely play at least TT if not all of them. With the likelihood of none of the coaches going to be at Oregon next year, they aren't going to care about Oregon's future.
  11. Colin Cowherd is on Foxsports, not ESPN. He moved away from ESPN in the summer of 2015. Most of the national talking heads are there to have "takes" to get clicks and views.
  12. I have to say, nobody is forcing anybody to read any posts. I know that I skip over posts by people I know I don't agree with. Why choose to get angry?
  13. More importantly Justin is the #3 QB in ESPN's standard Fantasy Football rankings and #5 overall.
  14. Every football recruiting site has these kids birthdates, so it is really odd BYU doesn't publish the date. It isn't like we don't know when they were born if we looked.
  15. Remember Miami doesn't have an AD, probably a good reason why their AD didn't call Mullens.
  16. Have to play him. Mario is also an insane. How do you not run the ball out. He did not learn the first time. He literally is insane for trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome.
  17. We all forget most of these games are scheduled 5-10 years in advance. The game vs BYU was scheduled in 2015. BYU went 8-5 in 2014, 9-4 in 2015 and 9-4 in 2016. They played 3 top 25 teams at the time of the game during those 3 seasons and went 1-2. According to the Ducks depth chart today(12/2/21), they will only be losing 2 seniors. Anthony Brown and George Moore. KT is obviously gone and then possibly Verone McKinley and Mykael Wright. Everybody else is not good enough to go to the NFL. I would say the Ducks will have a heap more starters coming back than UGA. Georgia is losing 3 SRs on O with a couple of JR's slated to leave early. 8 SRs on D. They are loaded and I don't really expect a win in Atlanta, but Georgia is going to be a completely different team next year.
  18. Have to run out the clock. That is the 3rd or 4th time the Ducks have messed around just before half. Cost them huge this time.
  19. The only potential years that I remember had questionable final 4 was 2014 with tOSU sneaking in and maybe when Scott Frost had UCF 12-0 in 2017. The precedent has been there. You are a 12-1 solo conference champion and you are in the playoffs. All the computer metrics say the Ducks shouldn't be in the top 4, yet they have been put there every time by this committee this year. tOSU vs Oregon is different than MSU vs Michigan. Oregon controlled the whole game. MSU I would go far as say got lucky to win. I saw no problem with the committee moving Michigan ahead of MSU. Proved to the correct call. There are 3 weeks left in the season. That is way to long to be worrying about the rankings. Ducks win out, they are in. I have no proof, only historical precedent.
  20. For all of the complaining about Oregon not being dominate, they are hardly ever behind in the 2nd half. Team Time behind in 2nd half Fresno St. 2min 57 seconds tOSU Never Stoney Brook Never Arizona Never Stanford 14 mins 4 seconds Cal 2 min 14 seconds UCLA 3 mins Colorado Never Washington Never WSU Never
  21. I think we forget the Playoff selection committee has zero ties to ESPN. What makes anybody think this committe wants Cincinnati in? I get it is a popularity contest, but Cincy is not popular. Cincy will have only played 1 top 25 team. Only SMU and Houston will be top 30 teams. They will have played 6 teams ranked 92nd to 180th. Ducks will have played 3 top 25 games. Only 2 games with teams over 100. Pretty easy for Cincy to win all their games, when half of their schedule is against teams you can put your back ups in the 2nd half. I'm not convinced that WF or a 1 loss Big 12 team don't pass Cincy in the final rankings. SCHOOL SELECTION COMMITTEE MEMBER Arizona State Paola Boivin Colorado Rick George Georgia State Charlie Cobb Iowa Gary Barta Kansas State Gene Taylor Kentucky Mitch Barnhart NC State Boo Corrigan Notre Dame Rod West Ohio Charlie Cobb Stanford Tyrone Willingham Wyoming Tom Burman
  22. In my opinion, if Oregon wins out, regardless of tOSU winning out, they are in. If Cincy was going to be ahead of the Ducks, they would already be ahead of the Ducks. tOSU, Michigan, Michigan St. all play each other, so there are going to be 2 more losses between those 3 teams. Only 1 B1G Ten team can have 1 loss. I see Oregon ending up behind the B1G Ten champ in the final poll. ND has no signature win, unless people call beating Wisconsin with 3 losses a signature win. Even if Alabama beats Georgia, nothing changes in the top 4. Those 2 teams, Oregon and a 1 loss B1G Ten champ. There is always something in winning your games on your schedule, but not every schedule is the same. Houston may be 9-1, but their lone loss was against Texas Tech. TT is 6-4. The playoff committe has 3 people linked with Pac 12 schools. I don't see the Ducks getting left out if they win out.
  23. https://www.espn.com/college-football/fpi/_/view/resume Computers have the Ducks SOS higher than Georgia and Alabama right now.
  24. Did anybody else have a bad feeling how the game ended? I hope the Big 12 levy a huge fine on Baylor and some sort of punishment on HC Dave Aranda. Calling two time outs was extremely poor sportsmanship and quite frankly dangerous. I'm not sure how the refs did not throw a flag for delay of game when the fans rushed the field with time still on the clock. On the other hand, I'm sure Aranda was letting Oklahoma know how he felt with them leaving the Big 12 and going to the SEC.
  25. I'd obviously want to stay ahead of tOSU in the standings, but if the Ducks win out, they are in the top 4. Being in the top 4 is the only thing that matters to me. This year isn't the Ducks year, but I'll take it. The Ducks are built for 2022, 2023 and hopefully beyond.
