I think we forget the Playoff selection committee has zero ties to ESPN. What makes anybody think this committe wants Cincinnati in? I get it is a popularity contest, but Cincy is not popular. Cincy will have only played 1 top 25 team. Only SMU and Houston will be top 30 teams. They will have played 6 teams ranked 92nd to 180th. Ducks will have played 3 top 25 games. Only 2 games with teams over 100. Pretty easy for Cincy to win all their games, when half of their schedule is against teams you can put your back ups in the 2nd half. I'm not convinced that WF or a 1 loss Big 12 team don't pass Cincy in the final rankings. In my opinion, if Oregon wins out, regardless of tOSU winning out, they are in. If Cincy was going to be ahead of the Ducks, they would already be ahead of the Ducks. tOSU, Michigan, Michigan St. all play each other, so there are going to be 2 more losses between those 3 teams. Only 1 B1G Ten team can have 1 loss. I see Oregon ending up behind the B1G Ten champ in the final poll. ND has no signature win, unless people call beating Wisconsin with 3 losses a signature win. Even if Alabama beats Georgia, nothing changes in the top 4. Those 2 teams, Oregon and a 1 loss B1G Ten champ. There is always something in winning your games on your schedule, but not every schedule is the same. Houston may be 9-1, but their lone loss was against Texas Tech. TT is 6-4. The playoff committe has 3 people linked with Pac 12 schools. I don't see the Ducks getting left out if they win out.

Did anybody else have a bad feeling how the game ended? I hope the Big 12 levy a huge fine on Baylor and some sort of punishment on HC Dave Aranda. Calling two time outs was extremely poor sportsmanship and quite frankly dangerous. I'm not sure how the refs did not throw a flag for delay of game when the fans rushed the field with time still on the clock. On the other hand, I'm sure Aranda was letting Oklahoma know how he felt with them leaving the Big 12 and going to the SEC.

I'd obviously want to stay ahead of tOSU in the standings, but if the Ducks win out, they are in the top 4. Being in the top 4 is the only thing that matters to me. This year isn't the Ducks year, but I'll take it. The Ducks are built for 2022, 2023 and hopefully beyond.

Dominating is not always shown in the final score. I'd say Oregon dominated tOSU, UW and WSU. I know while watching tOSU, I was only slightly nervous we would lose in the 2nd half, since we hadn't yet made it a pattern of winning by 1 score. UW had 166 yards and 7 first downs for the whole game. The Ducks had 427 and 22. If AB doesn't throw the INT, the Ducks are up 10-2 at half, instead of 10-9. Against WSU Oregon dominated every quarter except the 2nd quarter. Turnovers are part of the game, but Oregon's fumble in the 1st half was huge for WSU. The AB TD was absolutely not a fumble at the goal line. I sit right at that goal line and it was pretty clear where AB was with the ball. The video replay looked pretty clear to me as well. 38-24 score might not have shown it was a dominating performance, but the Ducks dominated WSU. I'd always prefer to win by 17+, but we all know MC's MO isn't to do that. A surprising stat to me. The Ducks are #10 in the nation in rushing offense. They are averaging 227.7 on offense and only giving up 119.9 on defense. No need to see their D giving up 248 yards of passing. They are better than tOSU, they are giving up 261. Michigan State is last in FBS giving up 329.0.

Cincy is going to be left out of the CFP, no way Fickell stays there. USC dumpster fire is still better than Cincy for a head coach. If the Pac 12 wants respect, they need more than Oregon to be an above average football team. It would mean more competition for Oregon, but Fickell could be exactly what the Pac 12 needs to get respect. I don't want to be the ACC in football.

Yep, Sewell is only going to be a Duck for 1 more season. I have a feeling even Flowe will only be here for 1 more season, even with his injury history. I hope not, because I can't see him going earlier than round 3 or 4, even with an all american season next year.

One doesn't really come without the other. If Uncle Phil doesn't spend hundreds of millions for Oregon, we are not what we are today. There are very few little engines that could that over achieve without money for long periods of time. Other than Oregon, Washington, USC and maybe UCLA and ASU, no other Pac 12 school will ever reach elite for more than a few seasons. They don't spend enough money. Stanford had their 5 year run around Andrew Luck and have since become meh. No Pac 12 school, other than Stanford and Oregon have put together 3 consecutive seasons of 10+ wins or more since 2010. Look at the teams that can be considered elite/top 15 teams for a decade or more. You will be hard pressed to find a team that doesn't spend a ton of money. Money doesn't buy you everything because you also need a coach, but one without the other works only for a few years.

Correction to the article, Utah and ASU both have 6 wins as of 11/12/21 and are bowl eligible. That is the fewest out of any P5 conference.

I think head to head should be part of the process, but it obviously can't be the whole process. If it were, then Texas A&M should be ranked higher than Alabama. Then Arkansas and Mississippi St. should be ranked ahead of both Texas A&M and Alabama. It would also mean Stanford should be ranked ahead of Oregon. I also think how the game was played matters as well. Oregon was "dominating" tOSU the whole game. MSU I'd argue snuck out a win vs Michigan. I'd say those are two very different wins. B1G Ten refs also confirmed they messed up on a call late in the game, that helped MSU win. MSU won at home, while Oregon won on the road. I wouldn't like it, but if tOSU wins out, I have no doubt they will be ahead of Oregon in the final rankings. They have played a much more challenging schedule than the Ducks. Head to head should matter when everything else is equal, but their SOS is much greater than the Ducks. Good thing we have 4 more games to go to work everything out.

Way too many games to play the what if game, but it is fun. Worst case for the Ducks: Georgia loses to Alabama in the SEC championship game, so both are 12-1. Oklahoma wins out and one of the B1G Ten teams finishes 12-1. Cincinnati is NOT going to be ahead of a 12-1 P5 team or 11-1 ND. Ducks 12-1 > 11-1 ND. I'd say Ducks 12-1 > 12-1 Big 12 team as well as long as tOSU wins out. If they lose a game, then that great win is that much less. If Georgia beats Alabama, then the Ducks are for sure in if they win out. A 2 loss Alabama team isn't getting in ahead of any 12-1 P5 champion. I can't remember the last time everything "went according to plan" for the top 5 or 6 teams this early in November.

I'm not a huge fan of Mario, but here is what he has accomplished as the Oregon head coach. Won 2 Pac 12 championships, which is tied for 2nd behind Chip. His 33 wins is tied for 6th all time. His winning percentage is 2nd all time. He isn't just only a recruiter. One might say Oregon doesn't have football history, so his accomplishments don't mean as much. I feel they should mean that much more because it is hard to win at Oregon. Mario is a flawed head coach for sure, but to think the Ducks can get a new HC better is not a sure thing.

I'm concerned about our clock management and use of time outs. It is inexcusable what MC did at the end of the 1st half. He called 2 time outs that could have turned out terrible for the Ducks. I can be OK with the 1st TO since we were near midfield, but then run 2 straight times? If you are going to call 2 TOs, you are trying to score and not run out the clock. You have to throw it once in that position.

I know nobody likes computers for rankings, but the AAC is ranked #11 in Jeff Sagarin conference rankings. Houston and SMU are good teams, but overall the AAC is not on the level of a P5 conference. Even as poor as the ACC and Pac 12 are playing, the conferences on the whole are much stronger. Top 6 teams from each conference. I would have placed Cincy at #4, but moved them out as their SOS got worse and worse. Only Arizona and Colorado have a ranking over 100. ACC only Duke is over 100. I think Cincy will be #4. They have a better win than both Alabama and Oklahoma at this point. Give the G5 people some hope, but as the season plays out and the strength of schedule becomes more of a factor, they will drop if the P5 schools keep winning. I see Oregon being ranked ahead of tOSU for this initial ranking, but not if they both win out.

When I watch a game that is a blow out and it doesn't include the Ducks, it is boring.

It is interesting, Lake pretty much said Oregon kids are dumb, yet he is recruiting the same kids as we are. He doesn't want people to look at the product on the field.

I'm not really fine with standing pat, but looking at the teams willing to move to the Pac 12, meh. Also, not really willing to go the Conference USA route and have schools all over the country. I wouldn't have been against BYU, Texas Tech, Baylor, TCU, and/or Houston joining the Pac 12, but I'm not upset we didn't go that direction. We'll see what happens with the next round of TV contracts. You do make a good point about recruiting for the rest of the conference. They stink and having a college in Texas would likely help the conference and when Mario eventually leaves help the Ducks.

I get it, but having more isn't always better. Big 12 TV contract is going to be way less than Pac 12. Even if the Pac 12 would have invited any from the 4: Baylor, Texas Tech, Oklahoma St., TCU, Kansas, Kansas St., Houston, SMU, etc. It would not have been a boost to the Pac 12. If those teams mattered for TV dollars, Texas and Oklahoma wouldn't have left. Houston and SMU would have previously been invited into the Big 12. Houston is trending the wrong way as well for home attendance. Was at 38,000 in 2015 and was down to 25,000 in 2019. It looked like Moorehead was in charge of the offense against UCLA. If we can keep it that way, I'm cautiously optimistic we will win out.

Definitely need more information. Saying a person needs to reduce their body fat percentage from 16 to 13 is curious. If you are under 20, you are in fantastic shape. Every body is different, so trying to get somebody down another 3% might not be possible.

I have been a season ticket holder for the Ducks for 15 years. This wasn't the first time the home fans booed the home team. It won't be the last time. However, it isn't a habit by the home fans by any means. I lived in Philadelphia and I have friends who still live there. You want to talk about a tough home crowd, watch a season of their games. Really, watch a season of any east coast professional team that isn't doing well. There used to be a saying, you can't boo college athletes because they are not paid professionals. Well, that is no longer the case. They might not be deemed professionals, but they certainly are getting paid. Booing isn't classless or poor sportsmanship. It is part of the game. It is up to each individual person on whether they choose to boo or cheer. I'm not sure if the home fans will boo Mario again this season, but I'm leaning towards no.

Best or 2nd best game by AB. Depends on what you think when he played vs tOSU. It is nice to see a willingness to do something different on offense. Both INTs were terrible decisions. Keep up with the differing offensive scheme and I like our chances to win out. Still playing down to competition, but that is MC shtick.
