Everything is personal with Deion and he is using it to fuel his team. That's okay from my perspective but as I said in another thread, the fatigue with him is setting in.

I thought he was very average. No Q factor is a good way of putting it. He also said something that was odd, after one play on the TT sideline, Dorlus waved and at first glance it could have appeared like he was being disrespectful, but he was waving to DeRutyer and Marcel Yates who as we know both coached at UO so it was not a snarky thing. When I saw it happen my first thought was 'oh no they're going to flag him for that'. Helfrich jumped on it and said something like 'oh that is not what you want to do'. Mark seemed to forget about the connection to UO there. I like Mark, he was just never head coach/CEO material.

Nevada- I totally agree with you but once you've lost Finebaum it's pretty tough. Also there's that whole pesky issue of how Colorado is going to pay Deion. They are not rolling in cash (yes, this new found superiority will help them raise money). They said when they hired him they did not have the money but they were going to swing for the fences anyway. Will it pay off? Time will tell.

Yes, I meant this in jest. Here is Lanning's comment: “Not a big reaction,” Lanning said when asked about Colorado’s plans to return to the Big 12. "I'm trying to remember what they won to affect this conference and I don't remember. Do you remember them winning anything? I don't remember them winning anything." My interpretation of that comment is that it is/was not directed at Deion specifically but more at Colorado in general. Agree and one of the reasons I like coming here. There was so much hyperbole and firing of coaches on other message boards Saturday night that it was ridiculous. One person even went so far as to say Mullens should rescind the new contract DL just got. Yes, you read that right. I get that we all get caught up in the moment but sometimes Oregon fans give Oregon fans a bad name.

Mr. FishDuck- I 1000% agree with you. I saw the exchange you referenced between DL and Lupoi and took note as well. It clearly looked like Dan was emphatically making a point to Tosh and I am not saying he was calling him out, but rather ensuring Tosh understood his point.

Asking an honest question , why is there this perception that Justin Wilcox is the panacea for Oregon? It seems this narrative surfaces when there are questions with the defense. Please don't take this as Wilcox bashing because that is in no way my intent. I just wonder why this always surfaces. What exactly has he done at Cal? In 7 years his record is 31 and 37. He is certainly a very nice guy and a great Oregon alum. I just don't get why we think Phil should pay him to come back. Also there is a 'myth/urban legend' out there that he almost got the job last time. Of course we all know about the letter that was written. I was told by two different people who definitely have connections in the AD, yes, he was interviewed. The phrase that was used by both insiders in separate conversations was 'courtesy interview'. One went so far as to say it was apparent he was using it as leverage in his negotiations with Cal and there is certainly nothing wrong with that. Happens in the business world all the time. And shortly after his 'interview' with Oregon he got a new deal at Cal. I was told directly by one person that Phil was not onboard with Wilcox as a candidate at all. I have to assume the person who told me this was telling the truth because I know who his contacts are inside Oregon athletics.

I read the full story in USA today. It's pretty ugly. He deserves this.

I like what Dan is doing. He seems to have a method to the 'madness' and maybe we won't figure it out but fun to ruminate about it that's for sure.

I'm okay with it. The guys like it and in the end it's for charity so that's a good thing IMO.
