1000% agree on Mora and Harsin. I think Lanning will counsel Dilly to take the approach that he did, which was to wait for the right opportunity. ASU may avoid serious NCAA sanctions due to the fact that they basically cleaned the house of the coaches who were involved in some of the mess there but they will likely get some sort of punishment. A guess is a reduction in scholarships and some other administrative changes they need to make so for a couple of guys who want to get back to the P12 this job might be attractive. The AD there has been known to make some 'head scratching' decisions so hard to say what he might do, but Mora or Harsin would fit his profile of possible hires in my opinion before KD.

Dan Lanning Weekly Press Conference | November 14, 2022
Augduck replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Crepea loves to be the 'smartest man in the room' and I love that DL nicely lets him know he is not the smartest man in the room in a very succinct and professional way. He clearly was trying to get DL to throw Williams under the bus. -
Tough Question: Are These the Right Defensive Coaches?
Augduck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Some of the current players on defense have been through 3 different coordinators, Avalos, DeRutyer and now Lupoi and obviously 3 different systems. And let's not forget that recruiting on the D line under MC and Salavea was seriously lacking. DL knew when he was interviewing for the job that the defense would be his biggest issue. -
Lanning made a comment in his presser on Monday night that they had 'submitted some plays to the league office' but did not elaborate any further. Likely water under the bridge now.

ESPN Matt Miller Has No Idea About Mario Cristobal
Augduck replied to Tandaian's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
innovative offense after shaping quarterback JustinHerbert ....... Oh my, this line is staggeringly false and shows the writer did no research -
Heard he was injured- not seriously but enough that he needed to sit last Saturday.

Agree 1000%

Crepea addressed this in his column today in the O. He felt the majority of the calls were spot on with only 1 or 2 slightly questionable.

It started when Taggart came and MC allowed it to continue. I personally wondered when it might be something that would get a coaches' attention

BSU QB Hank Bachmeier Enters Transfer Portal
Augduck replied to Babyjesus615's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Lots of issues at BSU according to 'insiders'. Don't know any specifics but have heard via some message boards things are not copacetic with Andy. There is/was some reason Da'Vell Winters left. When AA got the job at BSU he made Da'Vell chief of staff. Then late last year Da'Vell was on Linked In looking for a job. He is now Director of Player Development at FAU working for Willy Taggart. -
A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words...What are Your Words?
Augduck replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
"the thrill of victory" We know the rest of the moniker from the days of Wide World of Sports but I'll leave it out for now and let us savor this one -
I would guess Williams and maybe even Gonzalez.

Oh my- Drex and Charles, you made my day. I am a Stones fanatic and Gimme Shelter is my all time favorite. I still get goose bumps when I hear the opening riff. Kudos to you, for the stellar comparison. Anytime there is a reference to Gimme Shelter it's a good day. Let's hope that storm is threatin' every Pac 12 teams life. In the famous words of Jagger and Richards:
-
He used to do the same thing when he was at Oregon. He always referred to Alabama as 'the place I was at previously'. Used to drive me crazy ( I don't know why) but why not just say ' I recruited him when I was at Oregon'.
-
My perception as well. I think there is a reason Ed is hanging around Miami. I know one of his son's is an asst there but I am guessing Ed has his eye on that job.

Dilly has a five star QB coming in next year. I think he has the luxury to wait. The NCAA has not weighed in on ASU yet and they may get hit hard. I can't imagine Dilly wants to start out with that mess. He could sit for another year, build some more cred and possibly have some better choices. Just my two cents.

Did You Hear All the SLAPS Out There After the Game?
Augduck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Thanks East Bay Duckdad for a great post. How long has it been since we were able to say this: Oregon out schemed and out toughed BYU. -
I don't think we're being thin skinned, just stating facts. I'm all for well thoughout reasoned opinions. His opinions are neither.
-
yes, that is what I thought too. He seemed to like portraying PK and Oregon as the evil empire and OS as the clean, apple pie and Mom operation in Corvallis. Side note, I heard that at the OS home opener which was well after the debacle in Ga that the OS band played Georgia On My Mind.
-
Agree that OS is definitely taking some steps forward. They are playing better football for sure. I could see them beating WSU but not so sure about USC. I saw only bits and pieces of the SC/Stanford game and SC did look decent. Their defense did allow Stanford 600 yds of offense so that is interesting. OS also travels to Utah and I could honestly see them losing to both SC and Utah. Just my guess at this point and nothing more.

Washington and Oregon Open as 3 Point Favorites.
Augduck replied to Pac10again's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Agree that they are factoring in home field. If the game were in Provo I would be really concerned. I am still concerned but hoping the home crowd is revved up and Autzen is loud. -
There is a new guy at the O, Bill Oram and it seems he has sort of taken Canzano's place as the featured sports columnist. I have read his work several times now and wow, maybe I am wearing my green and yellow glasses when I read, but sheesh he sure does seem to have a love affair with OS. He seems to always find a way to get a little dig in at UO in every column and today's was really interesting. I normally take all that stuff with a grain of salt and chuckle but there seems to be a pattern. Any others seeing this or just me? Not much in the grand scheme of things but it has struck me as a little interesting.
