  1. A lot of the arguments that people make against Oregon taking the next step or continuing the momentum into the B10 are pretty valid. I would agree that Lanning needs to prove he can win a big game, I can agree that Oregon has shown flash and then not backed it up in the past, but the argument that the B10 is going to be a step up in physicality is just bogus. Other than the big 3 teams there isn't any sort of step up in physicality, nobody talks about the physicality of Maryland, Indiana, or Purdue. You can't tell me that even WSU was less physical when they beat up on Wisconsin two years straight, or UW destroying MSU for two years, or Oregon beating tOSU in the big house. Michigan, tOSU, and Penn St. play two physical games a year, and then act like the rest of the league is just sooooo tough, when in reality it's been incredibly soft.
  2. Sedona was the one transfer I was pretty okay with, I think she has always had a little me-first attitude, I think her calling out the stuff at the tournament was good, she totally got screwed by the NCAA when it came to the medical stuff while at Texas, but I never felt like she worked very hard or played with any authority. It could be that her injury made her hesitant, but it always seemed like the only thing that she was interested in was shooting 10-15 ft jumpers from the baseline and posting on her tic-tok. Didn't seem very interested in going for rebounds or banging in the middle with what was usually a height advantage. It's why I loved and still love watching Kyei play instead of her. Ugh, I need to stop thinking about this team...it just makes me frustrated to see what's become of it!
  3. Rams would be a good spot, sort of think Seattle might be a good spot as well. I could see the Pats possibly getting him as well if they pass on a QB in the first round.
  4. I mean everyone dealt with Covid, and yes Sabrina was a GOAT, but he's had a ton of talent and just has squandered it with teams that don't seem to play hard and don't seem to really care about winning. The culture has been bad since the Sabrina years, and yes players can dictate a lot about how a culture develops in a program, but ultimately it's the coach that has to establish the expectations of what is acceptable. Just doesn't seem to be a team that understand how to work or compete. If the team has as bad of a conference season as I think they're going to have I wouldn't be surprised to see Graves not survive the season.
  5. I'm not that surprised that the mock drafts don't have him going in the first round, I think he's probably a 2nd rounder, he might creep up into a 1st rounder if a team wants to make a trade for him. Overall he doesn't have that one physical trait that wows you. The arm is good enough, the mobility is kind of standard in today's league, what he does show is great understanding of when to just check the ball down, that is one thing that actually I think is a pretty huge plus since a lot of players either try to force it using elite arm strength or using their wheels to get out of trouble. He is going to immediately be a guy that won't lose you games, his understanding of defenses, and his elite ability to not turn the ball over will serve him well in the early going. The problem with Nix is that I don't know if he has the talent to strap a team on his back and win games, he doesn't have the upside that other guys have in this draft. I think he'll end up anywhere from 35th to 55th overall. The one mock draft rating I don't get is some people having JJ McCarthy as a 1st round pick, I don't get it, I don't see what sets him apart from Nix.
  6. Not really, it's simply a different batch of voters. Penix outplayed him in two games, it's not hard to see how voters could vote him ahead of Bo, I would probably have done the same, I think a lot of Penix' troubles earlier were caused by him playing injured.
  7. My biggest regret when it comes Oregon sports each fall is not going to watch this team (I do a bunch of stuff with high school sports so my evenings are pretty packed in the fall), you can easily make the case that the best program at Oregon right now is Volleyball, super stoked to see them play on Saturday!
  8. Meh, he's guy going back to his alma mater, not much you can do about that, best of luck to him.
  9. Yeah, nothing nefarious has gone down, Liberty has to play someone, it's just how it worked out this time, FSU-Georgia makes sense I would have of course liked tOSU or Missouri, they probably figure that's a fresh matchup and it's Big10/SEC. I just think we got the short end of the straw on this one.
  10. Couldn't watch the game, just looking at the box score did Evans actually have a good game, didn't look like he impacted the game much. Looks like Rigsby and Shelsted had great game, good to see! I think we have a good team, just need to get the bigs back and hopefully Cook provides some length on the wing.
  11. Good hire, a bit predictable, but it's a good hire, he'll at least know what he's getting himself into with his experience there. The job there has just become harder with OU and Texas coming into that league.
  12. If I was an AD at another school I would be a bit hesitant to elevate Stein to a HC position. I'm not saying he couldn't do it, but I would wait until he can show me that he can develop a QB at the power 5 level. It's not exactly surprising that the offense has been successful, most experienced QB of all time, a great running back combo, premier receivers, an O-line with a lot of talent. I think he's a good one, but maybe pump the breaks and show that he can develop something rather than simply keep the train going.
  13. If we beat UW it will be a better win than anything on Ohio St.'s resume, we will also be a conference champion, I think we'll get in with a win next week, nothing we can do about it though either way.
  14. I don't think you can rush only two with a spy, you have to go with 3 with a spy, make the QB think a little bit, just horrible execution, horrible! I know this, Bama has no business being in the playoff, incredibly lucky.
  15. Honestly I'm sad, I was hoping he would stay with OSU, but I understand the reasons for him leaving, it's a huge blow to them and really the community of Corvallis. I know there is a lot of talk around here about how the Beavers are getting what they deserve and stuff like that. Personally I don't think they deserve to have everything taken away from them, especially when you think about the programs out there that very much like them and don't contribute a lot to their conferences. With that said I don't think of course they are entitled to all the income of the Pac-12 of course, I would like to see the schools leaving give these universities something to help them as they transition to a minor conference. I don't know what this looks like, but I would hate to see programs be discontinued. I totally get the animosity towards Oregon right now, we've been big brother for a while, they don't have a huge donor who can immediately jump start the process, yes we had those two years where we broke the glass ceiling with the Rose and Cotton bowls, but if we're honest with ourselves Knight is a HUGE reason why we are where we are. If I was a Beaver I would be incredibly depressed, and I probably would be looking to vent my feelings towards everything around me. I probably wouldn't be yelling obscenities or raging online, but I would feel incredibly hurt that everything that I've known as a fan is now going to change, and most likely not for the better.
  16. I feel like the Arizona job and the Michigan St. job are pretty similar, I don't think it's much of a step up, probably depends on how much he like Michigan compared to Arizona, plus of course does Zona come up with a good offer for a raise.
  17. I'm sorry but this puts Graves firmly on the hot seat, either he goes to the tournament or he needs to go, to lose like that against Santa Clara is simply unacceptable, and then to act like it was just running into a hot shooting team is worse.
  18. Go Terps, still in it, I'm sure Michigan will be able to pull away, but at least they're finally going against a QB that isn't a scrub (and I include Allar in that!).
  19. I was actually was thinking he might go join Traylor at A&M, I'm sure they could offer him more, he would be going back to coaching under his old boss, back to his home state. Wouldn't be surprised if they offered him at least.
  20. Now someone might correct me, I believe the new rules mean that his kids would have to sit out a year, so if that's true then I would think there is zero chance he's leaving this year. I'm sure there might be a waiver, but I can only imagine how long that appeal would take. The more I think about it, I think they should go with Traylor from UTSA, I know they probably won't because A&M tends to go with a high profile guy, but it really makes sense to me that they go in a different direction. They don't need flash, they need hard work, nobody better for that than an old high school coach from East Texas. Probably means we lose Stein, but I think that's the way they should go.
  21. It hasn't been a better program for a long time, now in terms of potential you could argue it still is, but even that is debatable at this point.
  22. He might be, but it is still a breath of fresh air to see a coach just say that he is 100 percent not going anywhere while saying that he will have egg on his face if he straight up reverses course.
  23. I get it, there is definitely a culture shock to some who come from other places, whether it's weather, politics, demographics, it's very different compared to Texas, Florida, or even a place like Michigan. Just like I could never live in a place like Tuscaloosa or College Station, I'm sure there are those that could never live in a place like Eugene, Corvallis, or Seattle.
  24. I just want to say thank you to Dan, he could easily try to get a raise, but he has shown that he has a hell of a lot of integrity to just straight up say he's not leaving. That is a lot more than most in this industry.
  25. I just don't think Altman wants to do another move, he's done that enough times, he has a pretty secure gig, he's respected by everyone in basketball, he probably doesn't have that many years left considering how long he's been at it. I think most of the big programs are looking for a younger coach that could be there for 10+ years.
