  1. Ugly win, give props to Bamba and Angel, they both showed up, it wasn't always pretty, but they did enough to win the game, and it's good that both of those guys saw the ball go into the basket. They both still aren't shooting that well from deep, but at least they were able to get their inside game going. It's going to rough seeing teams dare Bamba to shoot from outside, but at least he saw a couple go in from there. Now they go on the road to a mediocre Minnesota team and a struggling UCLA team, need both of them I think.
  2. Bob Chesney of James Madison either needs a wellness check or have his vote taken away, there is no logical reason to vote Oregon 7th
  3. I just want to see Bamba not be useless on offense, please for the love of all that is green and yellow shoot what you shot every other year you have played basketball!!!!! We are literally depending on him to shoot better than 33 to 35% from 3 or we aren't going anywhere, we need him desperately to become the player he has been at every other stop he's had. Angel as well has to shoot what he has shot the other years he's played in college, we need that element to compete against the better teams around the country, without it we will see a lot more games like Purdue.
  4. He's basically Soares who was probably the worst starting guard Oregon has had in the last 20 years, he's horrible, he can't even score at the hole now. I wouldn't mind seeing Tracey at the 2 and Evans at the 3, try that. You can't keep running him out there and watch him basically be useless on offense.
  5. We really are not doing a good job at home, we simply are a horrible shooting team from 3 and yet we love to jack them up. BAD LOSS I don't care if Purdue is good, you can't keep losing home game, simply can't.
  6. Frustrating, the shooting is simply atrocious, Bamba is completely broken, he's becoming a liability on offense, he has no confidence, if I was an opponent I would dare him to shoot. Refs are completely biased 5 foul difference right now in the half, they have to even that up a bit, ridiculous. commentary is right, have to feed Bittle in the post
  7. No, he was with the last good Ernie Kent team. His senior year he had Porter, Bryce Taylor, Hairston, and Maarty Leunen. Lost to top ranked Florida in the Elite Eight.
  8. There are actually a lot of players who I think have a case to be on this list over the players on it. Evans is a nice player but Kazemi and Omoruyi are both superior players, heck I would even say Moser was a better player. Troy Brown is another one, I would put Figueroa over him. Just because they were NBA guys doesn't mean they are superior Ducks.
  9. I don't mind a lot of screens at times, even if it doesn't work for a bit, but very very very rarely were the screens used to set something up for a shot down the field later in the game, or something where we faked a screen one way and had something on the backend. It just didn't seem very wise to not use our tendencies to set up the opposition.
  10. Having Dante as the worst center out of those three is a travesty of justice!!!! Bol Bol is barely even a Duck, played a couple games, got injured, then didn't even attempt to come back. Give me Shelstad, Cousinard, Brooks, Bell, and Dante. I'm dominating in the interior, and three killers in the clutch from the point guard and wings.
  11. This will be his third year upcoming as Gizmo said, he is a okay play-caller, he isn't very good at adjusting to what the other team is taking away, he calls too many screens when it obvious that is what the opposing team is trying to take away. He doesn't always do a good job setting other teams up for big plays later in the game. I think he does a good job getting multiple facets of the offense involved, but I would like to see him develop the mid and deep passing game more. Too often you would see a play set up on a 3rd down where we are depending on the receiver making a play after the catch in order to pick up the first down. This isn't a bad strategy all the time, but it seemed like we relied on it to a greater degree than we should have. That might have to do with our roster, but I would like to see the offense become more diversified in its passing tree. I am interested to see what he does with a QB who has the arm talent that Moore has. Gabriel was a great player but he was limited by his height and he lack of elite arm talent (it was decent to good). I wouldn't be surprised to see Oregon throw the ball down the field more often with a QB who can throw with elite velocity.
  12. It should be getting warmer...but it isn't hot yet. I don't think you get rid of him, but you do begin to take a look at his play calling, his game prep, etc, basically everything other than his ability as a recruiter. Lanning needs to be just as introspective about himself since he's supposed to be some kind of defensive genius. It's not time to pull the plug yet, but it does need to get better if the team is going to actually achieve it's goal of a national championship.
  13. Final Four team was a lot better I think. If you go position by position Prichard (freshman) vs. Shelstad: Edge: Shelstad+ Dorsey vs. Bamba: Edge: Dorsey Brooks vs. Tracey: Edge: Brooks++ Boucher vs. Angel: Edge: Boucher+ Bell vs. Bittle: Edge: Even, this is the one that is hardest, Bell was such a force defensively, but Bittle has a much better offensive game Ennis vs. Barthelemey: Edge: Even, Key is a microwave, but Ennis was the ultimate glue guy Benson vs. Cook: Edge: I'll give it to Cook barely, I think he does more as the 7 man, obviously different positions. After that is does go in favor of the current team in terms of depth. I'll take that final four team all day though, more killers in the team, Boucher and Bell together was such a force defensively.
  14. That's what I thought!!!!! I was so confused when they started talking about it!!!! I was thinking I was crazy for thinking that it doesn't matter how many timeouts are called in a row.
  15. I feel like the officials have been fine, I haven't seen any badly called games. There's been an appropriate level of physicality. Most games with Oregon have seen a pretty even amount of fouls on both sides. If I remember correctly the UCLA game was called pretty tight, but overall it's been better than the Pac-12.
  16. One thing I have remind myself is that Shelstad is doing this about two years before Peyton Pritchard became Peyton Pritchard. Pritchard was not nearly this far along as a sophomore. EDIT: Actually taking a look at Pritchard's game log he had a better sophomore season than I remember, his junior year was worse than his sophomore year, I'm probably more thinking about that year. Averaged 14 a game, Shot 48% overall 41% from 3, averaged more assists than Shelstad as well. That team only went to the NIT, so I'm probably just being biased due to this team being much much better than that team.
  17. He is really really good, he's averaging 14 and 8 assists. That's why this game was a bit disappointing to see them allow Penn St. to make it a game, you need to step on their necks and put them away for good, we let teams off the hook by missing wide open shots, and slowing down the intensity.
  18. Honestly, I just thought it was the flow of the game. Underdog team, playing at home, big comeback, playing without their best player, just kind of set it up to be more excited about the prospect of an upset. I am now confused on that last inbounds, I thought you didn't lose the right to run the baseline after a timeout. I tried to look it up online but the best I got was that you can run the baseline after a timeout, but it doesn't say if you lose this ability after calling a second timeout. Just frustrating how we seem to not make anything easy on ourselves, we always seem to play to the level of our opponents, if we hit some of our open threes we win comfortably, but Bamba and Angel have been awful shooting the ball recently. Bamba just looks completely lost unless he's going to the hole.
  19. Stopped playing hard, haven't been very physical, no urgency on offense, been really really poor this half. Free throw shooting has been awful.
  20. Bamba with two WIIIIDDEEEEE open looks from 3, both clanks, and PSU ties it up. His shot is completely broken now.
  21. Looking good so far, Bamba playing better, Shelstad staying red hot, good stuff. We got pretty lucky with PSU's best player not playing. Baldwin is a very very good player, everything goes through him.
  22. It's just something the teams are going to need to get used to, nothing anyone can do about it, first couple seasons are going to hurt before programs get used to it. Could get better later in the season when they've gone cross country a couple times or it could get worse as they get more tired, we'll see how it goes. I suspect the teams that are doing well in the season are going to be relatively unaffected by it, but those teams that are struggling might go further in a hole as they begin to see the end of the season coming.
  23. If the people that make the decisions on Matt Court operations were smart they would get rid of the DJ, have the band play during every timeout, no kiss cam, no any kind of the shanigans with the camera, cheerleaders on the court or maybe some sort of student led competition. Basically treat it like the focus is on the game, not getting on the jumbotron. It's stupid how they have lost fans yet the prices go up. Attendance is probably at an all time low and they probably don't give a you know what because they think we all want a NBA experience which NOBODY WANTS!!! Students are probably the worst they have been ever as well.
  24. We did try to get the ball into Bittle last game early, they were doubling him up immediately and he did a good job dumping it off to other guys. The problem was that those players were missing wide open looks. We have to start shooting better as a team. We'll have a player or two have a hot hand, but we rarely see a majority of the team have a good shooting night. Angel and Bamba have to start playing better. Evans is getting close to taking over Angel's minutes, I'm personally surprised to see this happen, but Evans is rebounding, defending, and scoring enough to justify it. If he could just get a better handle he would really take a step forward as a prospect. He just has such a bad handle for someone you would expect to be more smooth.
  25. I am 100 percent ready to hand the keys to Moore over bringing in any transfer that is out there. If Moore isn't the starter then it just means someone really really impressive overtook him which I would be fine with as well.
