30Duck Moderator No. 1 Share Posted October 26 Say it ain't so, Dan! “Remember, early in the season, they weren’t clicking on all cylinders. So I think as this goes on, and it wears down, the mental fatigue, the injuries that you get beat up as the season goes on, there is a chance they lose a game.”

Nevada Dawg No. 5 Share Posted October 26 I've said several times that I'd not be surprised by an upset few of us foresee. My biggest candidate, Camp Randall and the Badgers in November. Madison is a tough place to play and a long way from home with possible inclement weather and a rapidly improving (I think) bunch of nasty tempered diggers. Plus, Luke Fickell's teams are quite capable of being a thorn in anyone's sides. That's the major reason OSU would not schedule in-state Cincinnati when Fickell coached there. Again, I am not predicting a loss, just saying I'd not be shocked if it comes to pass. Go Ducks!!! 2 1

A very tough place to play and from here on out Oregon will have target on its back. Going undefeated is a great goal, and the Ducks have a shot, but there is a lot of football left. Agree with most sentiments voiced but would also like to add that it will be the eighth game straight in our inaugural season in the B1G. This team Will be tired and if still undefeated, ripe for a letdown game. Let's also not forget of the unspoken rivalry between the schools especially in Football and Basketball. Always competive. Will be quite the challenge for the coaching staff. That being said. No one knows what the rest of the college football landscape will look like in a month. But if OBD picks up a loss at that point in the season it won't hurt their playoff push and might give them a late season "jolt" to refocus for the final push towards the National Championship game. I guess that's why we tunein, week in and week out, to see what actually happens. Go Ducks...keep rollin' along! 30Duck Author Moderator No. 8 Share Posted October 26 Oregon doesn't need to be undefeated to stay No.1. It's push that has them above Georgia now, but who knows what the situation will be after the Wisconsin game. Going undefeated is a goal, but definitely not a guarantee for finishing with the championship. Lanning and the team seem to be handling it so far, and if a loss happens, and Oregon isn't No.1, it'll be water off the Ducks back.

Going undefeated is not clearly a guarantee of anything this year except a well-earned great playoff seeding. In a 12-team playoff the playoffs are the second season. Roster depth is super important to compensate for late injuries. In some ways, the team with the healthiest and deepest roster could become the betting favorite, regardless of regular season record. I am not so presumptuous as to tell Coach Lanning how to coach and probably don't even need to say this, but it might be wise to rest essential players whenever possible and to get reps for more Ducklings down the stretch to better position the team for the rigors of a potentially arduous playoff run.

Looks like he is already doing that. Oregon has gone 3-4 deep in the last two games in terms of runningbacks.
HappyToBeADuck No. 11 Share Posted October 28 If my notes correct and please feel free to correct me. Afterall I am not a Buckeye, Huskt or Trojan fan. All the Duck redshirts can play 4 games in the first 12 regulat season games and not burn that redshirt. Games 13 thru 17 dont count. DL has littered the field with a number of players in the 2nd half of MSU, Purdue, UCLA and Illinois. If any coach is on top of tgat it would be DL..... NCAA, gove all players 5 years or 6 years to play 5. I agree with Danielson that you get better games as players mature. Dl Is 30-5 with 2-6th year QB Transfers. GO DUCKS.....beat them wolverines.

It's game No. 8 in an eight-game straight gauntlet. And Wisconsin is idle the week before playing the Ducks. But the Wisconsin O after lighting up three B1G bottom feeders was far from robust vs Penn State. At Wisconsin, Fickell is 0-5 against teams ranked when they played the Badgers. 0-3 in 2024 vs Bama, at USC, and vs Penn State. The Penn State D traveled, the Oregon D if not fatigued will continue to travel. The Badgers best win in 2024 is against Rutgers. The Badgers RB, Walker, who played well in the last three games before Penn State was shut down by the PSU D, held to fewer than 60 yards rushing. PSU's backup QB played well in relief of Drew Allar. The Wisconsin QB has marginal starting talent and Illinois has better receiving threats than Wisconsin. Oregon will again have a speed advantage in this game; a huge advantage at WR. I'm more concerned about a Michigan team that found a winning QB formula vs Michigan State on Saturday and will want to win back-to-back games in Ann Arbor to try and salvage its season with an upset of No. 1 and a Win Columbus. Michigan will also have a chance to show off at Indiana. Top to bottom Michigan has a much better roster than Wisconsin. Three guys on D could go in the 1st round of the draft and TE Loveland is a baller. 1

But your post here has changed my mind. Whether it's the 8th out of 8, or miserable weather, Michigan's roster is more hazardous than Wisconsin. Michigan might not be able to pass the ball effectively, but they're 5-3. Houston Rockets coach, Rudy T said, "Never underestimate the heart of a champion!" Michigan is the reigning champ. They haven't started the way they wanted. What they really want is a win that will set this season on a new trajectory. Santa Rosa Duck No. 15 Share Posted October 29 My biggest concern is them Fuskies. Potential for truly miserable weather and a rivalry game like no other for our DUCKS. Plus Dan Lanning is now 0-3 against the doggies. I may try to attend this game but cannot get my bride to go at this time of year. GO DUCKS!
