Chip Kelly will be going back to the home field of the team he just left to coach against the team he coached in the Rose Bowl against the team he coaches for now.

We've all watched the games, and in terms of the eyeball test it

sure looks like Ohio State is the most talented team out there besides OBD.

Meeting in the Quarters, that is how it is supposed to go...

Coach Lanning has said more than once in recent days the first order of business was to scout ourselves.

Will be interesting to see how much both teams staffs adjust their offense and defense to bring "a new look" to the game.   Away from Autzen, I don't think the Ducks can do the same old same old and get a W.

Over the past few hours the initial odds have stayed pretty stable:

Penn St 10 vs Boise State

Texas 13-1/2 vs ASU

Georgia 1-1/2 vs Notre Dame

Oregon vs Ohio State should be posted shortly.

Honestly, I’m terrified. I hate tOSU more than any other team, so losing to them brings extra disappointment . . . But beating them brings exponential joy.

Was hoping all of Oregon’s remaining opponents would not be repeat ones.

Either way, here we are. We can go into this game fully confident that we can beat them.

Go Ducks!!

Oregon+1 Ohio State

Don't get too nervous.....Tenn was not an outstanding team. To put it in B1G terms, their talent level was above Indiana but right about Iowa level. They barely beat some pitiful teams on their schedule. At home on hard frozen ground Ohio St looked great.....in Pasadena they will be beatable.

One thing I'm reminded of is that although we beat osu previously, we really did not play a great game. We left a lot of meat on the bone and made quite a few mistakes... and yet we still won.

I think we will clean up the mistakes for New Year's Day, and we have a great shot at beating them for a second time this season.

I think this Rose Bowl is going to be the defacto title game. Much like the Rose Bowl last year between Michigan and Alabama, and the Peach Bowl two years ago with Georgia vs Ohio State.

Going into tonight I thought we'd get one good game. But Ohio State couldn't let us even have three quarters. Tennessee will get ripped for tonight, but they weren't paper tigers. They beat Alabama and South Carolina(two teams Sankey wanted in). They just ran into the dominant version of Ohio State.

For me the question is whose dominant side is better. Who can beat you in more ways? Who can adapt if their game plan falls to crap?

My answer is I think Ohio State is the best team when they are playing at their best. But I don't think they can adapt as well when they get thrown off their game. Oregon has enough talent to make Ryan Day adapt. For that reason I think Ohio State is favored right now, but Oregon will make Will Howard have to make the right decision in the end and he'll make a mistake.

Oregon wins it 38-31.

Go get your first title!!!

Definitely a winnable game for the Ducks…..and losable, too.

If Gabriel outplays Howard, Ducks win.

Ohio State favored by 1-1/2.    They were favored by 3-1/2 prior to Autzen visit in October.

tOSU was dominating tonight, so that plays in to number the oddsmakers use.

Could be a straight pick'em by day of game?

Of the seven other remaining playoff teams, OBD has played three of them going 3-0 in the process while averaging around 38 points a game. Lanning absolutely lives for these moments, Day fears them. If this game is close in the fourth quarter, the teams will reflect the leadership of the coach. Lanning will be leading them in to battle like Braveheart. Day will be hoping he doesn't screw it up again.

All I know is Oregon's love of not scoring in the 3rd Quarter needs to not occur in the Rose Bowl or we will be out quickly.

I think the spread will widen as this OSU performance marinates over the next week and people forget how good Oregon can play too.

The O/U is 52 which is stupid low to me. I think it's going to be first team to 35 wins.

Oregon is not Tennessee. The Ducks offense is better. The Ducks defense is better. The Ducks are deeper, tougher, more talented. And I think the Ducks coaching staff is significantly better.

Round 2 is gonna be great!

To reiterate, it’s difficult to gauge how good Tennessee is, they lost to Georgia and Arkansas, and their only ranked win was against Alabama(they didn’t play South Carolina).  To someone’s point earlier, they’re likely similar to an Iowa this year.

Ohio st just played at home in a must win redemption game.  Kudos to Ryan Day on his game plan and getting their mindset right, it’s gonna be difficult to do that again in Pasadena.

My concern is the long wait period before the Ducks play on Jan 1st. As is with most long wait periods for bowl games it seems that teams are a little rusty or slow to gel in the 1st qtr and into the 2nd. OSU just had a great game and has a much shorter wait time to play again.

This game makes me really nervous for that reason. A sluggish start won't cut it.

Having nearly 4 weeks off (25 days) between games is definitely too long.

SEC,             1-1,     50%

B1G,             2-1,     66%

Independent, 1-0,   100%

Nervous is good, it shows that you have a grasp on what is coming. After last night osu2 fans aren't nervous at all, "It's a brand new Day!"

I don't think osu2 took the Ducks seriously in the game at little ol Autzen, and after last night, full of euphoria after crushing the Vols their concern about the Ducks probably isn't at Level 1.

All season long I've seen a confident, not cocky Oregon team go 13-0. I'm confident that they'll be prepared to make it 14-0.

If the OSU players like their coach, talk about a little extra motivation:

"Guys - if we lose, I get fired."

They're fired up at B1G HQ. And no doubt at ESPN HQ.
