Charles Fischer Administrator No. 1 Share Posted Sunday at 07:46 PM Funny how that narrative goes on ESPN, talking on-and-on about not only the Hoosiers weaknesses, and how they did not belong...but to even suggest that the B1G is no different than the ACC or Big-12? So how did the ACC do yesterday? I was disappointed that Indiana kept trying to run the ball when it was evident that ND was stronger in the trenches. Their QB was accurate, and they scored two TDs in the last five minutes; imagine if they had built a game plan on what they are good at from early in the game? And then the 'Vols come along with all the hype, and we saw NONE of what was claimed. Did they belong? Actually, I believe they ALL belonged and deserved their chance. You never know on a given day, although the higher seeded teams won easily at home...as they should in a correctly seeded bracket. I like Jon Joseph's idea and have the entire Playoffs at the home field of the higher seeded teams all the way until the final, of which is at a moving neutral location, like the NFL does with the Super Bowl. Make it 14 teams with the top two sitting out the first round, or make it 16 with no conference championships and we start it earlier. And I hope the winner of the Oregon-Ohio State game wins the 'Natty and shuts those ESPN pie-holes up. 2 4 1 Mr. FishDuck
30Duck Moderator No. 2 Share Posted Sunday at 07:57 PM I don't believe it's accurate to declare a team didn't belong after the games, and with an expanded bracket and the "deserving" aspect carrying as much weight there will be mismatches. The remaining rounds should be more competitive.

David Marsh No. 4 Share Posted Sunday at 08:02 PM What is evident this year is that we don't need a playoff... Or at least not this big a field. Oregon v Georgia for the National Championship go! Oregon beat Ohio State and Penn State and won the B1G. Georgia beat Texas (twice) and Tennessee. I guess ND would be left out and we'll see if they belong. But right now it feels like we know who should play in the championship based off the season. The playoff gives a shot to the season's losers which I supposed is fine. As long as the Ducks win it all. 1
HappyToBeADuck No. 5 Share Posted Sunday at 08:03 PM Those honks will never stop sharing their favoritism SEC style. i expect the winner of the Rose Bowl to dispatch Texas (SEC)and PSU to beat The Real Dawgs (SEC) and have an all BIG final. I love Georgia and our great Bulldog posters. However, PSU has the talent and offense to sneak out a win if tbey face Georgia. Even if OBD's, osu2 and PSU were to win the Natty, you can bet money that ESPN and all the honks will be saying..... If Alabama had not been robbed of her rightful spot, well the outcome would have been different. Charles it will never stop..... 3
1Funduck No. 6 Share Posted yesterday at 06:57 AM The playoffs are 4 teams too many. Possibly 6 teams too many. I truly hate the pundits that chirp about 3 loss teams deserving to be in and then not a word when they were decimated. Vols got 'smoked'. Why? Because it just means more....to the B1G. As for Joe'ja, I don't think they get past ND. Texas will fall to Oregon. It will be an SEC'less Natty. 3 SEC teams entered and 2 mediocre teams are left. Yep, I said it. Again, top of the line players but mediocre teams. Now, let me really go on a rant. If you think we had mediocre football in the first round, what do you think will happen when 4 more teams are added? Gonna put in a 4 loss team? Really? I want to hurl. #1 VS #16? Why? Yep, its all about money and always has been and always will be. I truly wish these guys would stop with the 'we need to see better football' mantra as they are bellowing for a 16 team playoff that screams mediocrity. You want tradition? That ship sailed when they crushed these conferences and bowl tie-ins. Stop whining and losing(SEC), it looks too much like preteen girls fighting over lip gloss. Just win and remove all doubt. After all, it should mean more.....right?
Dave23 No. 7 Share Posted yesterday at 07:42 AM The SEC finally had to play a game outside of the South and look at the result. For way to long they've refused to play a West cost team at home or a BG1 team at home in December or November. Like playing in the south in September isn't a home field advantage.
fred flintstone No. 8 Share Posted yesterday at 02:48 PM You are absolutely correct.......Indiana belonged, SMU and Tenn belonged. They earned their spots. Alabama lost 3 games....so they did not belong. Kirk Herbstreit is under pressure to defend the myth of SEC dominance. If Indiana did not belong why was Tenn there. Ohio State blew them off the field. Georgia flys thru the playoffs playing ND and potentially Penn St......while Oregon plays Oh St and Texas. Again, total bias. Trying to trip up number 1 so the SEC can appear dominant. A true ranking of the teams IMO......Oregon, Ohio State, Georgia, Texas, Notre Dame and everybody else. The playoffs are not about picking the toughest conference....they are about picking a national champion.
