Will they delay the start of the Rose Bowl?

Rose Bowl fan attendance looks like it’s split equally between Oregon and OSU fans.

It looks like it’s on ESPN2.

Well there goes Oregon's mediocre defense. Linebackers are confused and missing in action.  Missed tackle by safety.

 

Not a good start.

Defense is not communicating. 

Not a great start 3 week layoff curse.

This is starting out like Texas ASU.

 

It could take a little for our team to wake up from the time off.

 

Oh to have lost to PSU. We'd be in such a better spot.

 

 

They ran that TD play against Tennessee.  Poor situational planning there.  And Lupoi has decided to go man to man.  Bad choice.  
 

This defense absolutely must seal the edges and play zone coverage.  Heck. Just stand still if need be.  Let them run to you.  Don’t chase them for crying out loud.  
 

 

I guess Chip is not washed up yet.

And quit looking at the QB.  Reed covers that and probably intercepts that pass, or cuts off Smith’s route if he just looks at Smith/.

Can anybody tell me why kickers stopped kicking punts to the sideline when they’re trying to pin offenses inside the ten? Asking for a friend.

Looks like OBD are shaking off cobwebs.

Wow... I'm not sure we could have had a crapier first 7 minutes of football. 

 

Better wake up fast, or this could get ugly. 

I’m not sure if the offense is less prepared or just rusty. I hope it’s the later.

There is a big difference between discussing negative, which is fine versus Venting/Melting down.

If we cant defend the pass better this is going to be a beat down.

Hopefully OBD can make some quick adjustments and keep tOSU from scoring again. This looks ugly now but all it takes is scoring a TD on our next drive and getting another stop to put us back in the game.

 

And yes, we need to defend the pass much better.

Really rough start. We'll get going, but at some point you've dug too deep of a hole against too good of a team. Like the PAC12 champ game last year.

 

A couple 1st downs now. Deep shot. I noticed Tez ankle is wrapped and he limped off with little contact. Not good he is already hurt 

I guess I need to shut up.

Well we see that Ohio State's game plan is to air out the ball like they did against Tennessee. Need to make adjustments quick. It should play into Oregon's favor, since our pass defense is better than our run defense but we need to get some pressure on Howard and our secondary is going to have to make some plays.

I guess it must not be part of the defensive scheme but I don't know why the Ducks don't play a third CB instead of a third safety with a team attacking downfield (the Ducks actually have a good option for a nickle CB).

 

Can't get out of your gameplan too much; but, I don't think you can remain stuck to the horizontal 1-2 yard LOS stuff. A lot of ground to make up.

 

 

 

Safety was late there. WTH.

A Safety and the Linebackers are responsible for taking away options.  Interceptions happen because of QB mistakes.  
 

On offense. Stein is staying on trend. Bubble screens.  
 

I can see why Ohio State was so confident.  They’re exploiting easy mistakes to take advantage of.

 

This is what I feared the most.  
 

And guess what. A punter kicks the ball to the sideline like he’s supposed to.  There’s a positive for you.

Everyone is acting rusty.

 

Something to note here is the weather. I'm in San Diego and this is the warm dry southwest air that historically makes the Ducks play in a funk in November against the Arizona schools.

Ohio State is doing whatever they want offensively and defensively.  

 

The leaders need to step up and start to make some plays.

Sorry, but I think that's an excuse for poor execution. Oregon's defense was confused and out of position against Penn State in the B1G Conference Championship game.  Obviously they did nothing to improve it with the time off.

 

Ohio State had just as long off before facing Tennessee and smoked them like they are doing right now to the Ducks.

The only good thing happening is the music from Steely Dan.

Just like Mike said, as if on cue Jeffrey Bassa was staring at the QB instead of watching for that receiver route. He was right there to stop it if he were paying attention. 

Buckeyes' lines are dominating so far. Tough to watch.

Really can't afford to go down 21-0 here.

Unfortunately, the way things are going, tOSU would go up at least 17-0.

OBD need a TD right now. No ifs, ands, or buts.

They scored I think 10 points or something against Michigan.  Must be the layoff...

Offense should work Ferg and Sadiq in more to help open up the offense. Seemed to work last possession.

Will Howard has 212 yards passing already.

The linebackers are the weak spot of the defense, IMO, and the safeties aren't good enough to make up for it.  We need to recruit and develop those SEC linebackers that were the cornerstone of Alabama and Georgia's championship defenses.

Great idea. Have we attempted more than one pass to the TEs?

These announcers are really annoying, perhaps the worst I remember.
