While our defense has not been perfect, and given up more ground yards than we are comfortable with, the bottom line is that they have given up zero points at halftime, which is certainly the goal for the first half!

Hmmm... In my pre-game Duck exuberance, I may have gotten a tad bit carried away with my 58-13 prediction.

But who knows as it now is about 11 AM PST to the Duck body clock. They're definitely awake now and I'm looking for a 41 point 2nd half.

A defensive tactic I've never seen before: Let's have most of our defenders looking over at the sidelines when the ball is snapped!

Hard to play lock down when you don't know what you're are supposed to be doing when the play starts.

And that's what happens when you FOLLOW you blocking!!!!

INTERCEPTION.

Even in NW's big pass play, the safety was covering his man ( he bit on a good fake. I'll take that every play for the rest of time- that's what I want to see).

That strategy alone will make this defense a 14 points per game juggernaut.

Been a weird game on defense, we've caused a few turnovers, we've had some sacks, but we also have been pushed around, and have gotten lucky by Northwestern messing up all on their own on more than a couple occasions.

Lot's for the coaches to review, I also hope the players realize that they need to play better in order to beat the top teams. There's nothing that is super concerning, but it's a nice wake up call that we will need to play better in order to truly dominate.

It really has been a great game in terms of results since it gives us just enough to go back and clean up without diminishing our standing in the eyes of the nation.

More good film to review there, good time to give up the first interception of the year, Moore was certainly not going to go through an entire season without throwing one.

Not a pick6 like I predicted, but good enough. 1st and goal just the same!

Bad decision by Moore (4defenders around one receiver). But the defense comes through And the shutout continues!!!!

I don't think it was an awful decision, a perfect throw probably gets you a touchdown, but it wasn't really needed considering the circumstances. I would be curious to hear from Dante to see if he LB dropping back that far into coverage. I suspect he saw all the defenders but he just thought he could drop into Dak's hands.

So much for the shut out. Offord was in a bad position a couple times on that possession. Good learning opportunity for him.

I'm going to go ahead and put myself out there and say that this game was a disappointment.

I need NW to score so I can win the prediction contest.

Disappointing finish, both lines have been weak physically, interior lines are not playing like they are bigger physically, no reason to have Thomas at QB, really don't understand why we have our 4th string QB out there.

Way to finish 2s & 3s….

Wish the back ups played with a little more "want to".

The drop off from the first team to the second team defense is larger than what we thought…
