Sunday at 06:45 PM2 days Author Moderator No. It's a long way to the finish line, but if the PO committee's final ranking on 12/7/25 mirrored the AP Poll, OBD's reward for finishing 2nd would be a 2nd round matchup vs. the winner of No. 11 Texas Tech at No. 6 Texas A&M in the COTTON BOWL in Dallas, Texas 🙃.Compare this with Miami playing the winner of No. 10 Alabama at No. 7 Penn State in the Orange Bowl in Miami. 🤬For as long as this so-called 'Playoff' incorporates the 'NY6 Bowls,' a lower seeded team(s) will have more favorable 2nd round sites than one or more top-seeded opponents.

At least it should be direct seeding this year instead of last year's stupidity.
Sunday at 06:55 PM2 days Moderator No. Five SEC teams in the top 10. I can feel ESPN’s collective giddiness.
Sunday at 07:29 PM2 days Administrator No. Oregon is No. 2 in the Coaches poll as well. I would LOVE to see this No. 1 and No. 2 remain this way until the end of the season. Can you imagine how seeing two Big-10 teams at the top of the polls grates on Paul Finebaum?Who is sucking lemons? Mr. FishDuck
Sunday at 07:44 PM2 days No. How is LSU still 13? They have failed to score 21 points against any FBS school so far this year. They have a loss, but probably should have two. Their offense is tragic.
Sunday at 08:17 PM2 days No. last week Ducks had 1 #1 vote in each poll. This week 16 in the AP and 6 in the coaches'. The Ducks are convincing people on the field.

They are good, but certainly didn't look unbeatable. The Huskies gave them everything they wanted and more for much of the game and the Huskies ain't the Ducks!

Monday at 12:08 PM1 day No. I guess I didn't get my wish...I want OBD to fly under the radar and just stay at #6 or drop another couple of spots--old Pac-12 rank syndrome.I want everyone to believe that OBD suck and can't win games, take them lightly, and write them off until they blow the doors out of the "ranking" systems!

22 hours ago22 hr No. This is going to sound like a "homer" comment and I don't mean to overrate this young, relatively inexperienced bunch of BullDawgs, but I see 4-5 teams rated higher than them who would be underdogs (gambling odds) in a head-to-head meetings on a neutral field. I remind you that the Dawgs lost to the same Bama team in week 4 last season and dropped way down in the polls. So what happened. They learned from their mistakes and ended up winning the SEC. They, like the Ducks, earned an ill-fated Bye (remember all Bye teams lost their initial playoff game). My point though is that polls are nearly meaningless at this point in the season. Saturday night, I congratulated my dear Duck fanatic buddy on the PSU win and said they should probably rise to #2 in the polls. His reply: Why not #1? I cautiously reminded him that polls this early don't mean squat and said the early ascendance To #1 last year really didn't work so well last year did it? So I ended up besting his predictive ability on most of the polls, but I was quick to point out that the Sunday morning ESPN poll did indeed have the Ducks at #1.

The AP poll is a complete joke and has been for a very long time. Not only would Georgia be favored, but they would likely beat a few of those teams by more than one TD. Having people that don’t watch all the games rank teams by the number of losses they have, without consideration of their strength of schedule, might be the dumbest thing in sports.
1 hour ago1 hr No. I think Ohio State will get the benefit of the doubt until they take a loss for two reasons. First is because they scheduled Texas who just so happened to be number one. How good Texas will be is kind of irrelevant because of the brand, much like Penn State. Notre Dame will make the playoffs if they win out, that likely means they won't have a top 25 win. But they scheduled games against two top twenty teams. Plus they are Notre Dame and they proved themselves last year in the playoff which gave them credibility.Speaking of credibility built over past years, Ohio State cruised to a title. People remember the Rose Bowl pasting over Oregon more than the October matchup which Oregon won in an instant classic. The same thing applied to Alabama vs LSU in 2011. LSU actually won the regular season matchup 9-6, but got crushed in the BCS Title Game rematch. Should the past have any bearing on the future? I'd say no, but as long as we have preseason rankings it matters. In what world should Penn State, Texas, Notre Dame, or Georgia be ranked ahead of undefeated Vanderbilt, Missouri, or one loss Mississippi State? Look at the wins those lesser thought brands have had and how much better they've looked than the four established brands. The Ducks should win out imo. They'll get their shot to earn the only number one ranking that matters if they do that. That of course being the final poll.
