November 2Nov 2 Administrator No. Which is worse...how pathetic this is of Beavis fans, or how Washington State fans feel at this moment? Mr. FishDuck
November 2Nov 2 Moderator No. Field rushing when beating a team that was at .500. I guess they are trying hard for a resume to attract a good JC coach.
November 2Nov 2 No. Hey... they could get lower... they could hire Mario when he's eventually canned from Miami. 😂 Edited November 2Nov 2 by WaterPoloDuck Typo correction
November 2Nov 2 No. I remember when Bill Musgrave led us to six wins and we went to the Weedeater Bowl in Shreveport. We hadn’t been to a bowl game in decades. It felt like a big deal to us. There may have been some field-storming on our part. I hope we never get so used to being good that we forget what being bottom tier felt like.

We have an excellent perspective and appreciation for where we are at, as my first year of Oregon season tickets had Chris Miller as quarterback of the Ducks. And again...we are all entitled to our different opinions here without throwing ancillary shade on anyone else... November 2Nov 2 No. One of the meanings of "pathetic" according to the Oxford Dictionary is, "Of very low standard". No matter how you slice it, storming the field after subduing a .500 team is a very low standard, and is, by definition, pathetic IMHO.
November 2Nov 2 No. I remember as a kid how pathetic Oregon was for so many years. In 1962, with Cas as coach, and Bob Berry as QB for 3 years, we were on a 3 year winning streak, a trip and win at the Sun Bowl over SMU in 1963. Then another very long dry spell before the Indepenent bowl decades later. We were pathetic, and I think any unexpected win brought a lot of over the top excitement to fans. That was a different Oregon than the one from 25 years ago to now. I'll always remember those old days, and appreciate greatly what we have now. An 8-4 season then would have been glorious, now it's a disaster. Though i'm not fond of the Beavers, I'll give their fans a break for celebrating a win, even a minor one.
November 2Nov 2 No. If you are a current freshman at OSU, this might be only time in the upcoming 4 years that you get to storm the field. Might as well have fun when you can.
November 2Nov 2 No. I remember the goal posts at Autzen coming down, being carried across the bridge and back to campus, a long, L O N G, time ago...Dang, I'm old.

Third string TE Vince Ferry caught the winner. 35K watching max. Goalposts did not have a chance to remain upright.

November 3Nov 3 No. OSU has sunk very low indeed. Students there today will have to stretch to find things to celebrate, and I appreciate the post and the humor Charles. I'm also with you TexasDuck about not forgetting how things were. I'm one of the greybeards who remembers when we were fortunate to finish over .500 (Chris Miller was the QB my freshmen year in 86/87) and I remember the excitement around that Independence Bowl in '89. We've come a long way and I'm glad it's the Beavs living that reality now and not us. 😁
November 3Nov 3 No. Two time defending PAC Who champions!!!! It's about to become the Boise State show next year, so enjoy this run Beavis fans.Serious question though. Washington State should've beaten Virginia, and they gave Ole Miss problems for four quarters. How do they not beat the bricks off this Beavis squad behind an interim coach?

Monday at 09:32 PM5 days No. This coming Saturday night the Sam Houston Bearkats, 0-8, will be in Corvallis to give the 17.5 point favorite OSU Barkrats an opportunity to make it three in a row! Will fans storm the field again should their team get the trifecta? “Barkrats vs. Bearkats” , there’s poetry in that.

Tuesday at 05:44 AM5 days No. If you played on a lot of sports teams (even recreational), you know that when you really really suck... when you FINALLY do something right, it feels like you just won the super bowl. I admire their fan base. They do care. They don't crap on their team. What would be pathetic is if their stadium was empty for that win. I hope the PAC makes a good comeback. The beavs and Wazzu would have been perfect for the new Big12, but they got left out. What if, in future years, the beavs win the PAC, make the last spot in the playoff and pull off a huge upset in the playoff? Seems less likely now with the portal and NIL because their good players would probably transfer. Remember, Utah got good enough that they ALMOST beat Ohio St in the Rose Bowl. A podunk school can over achieve, and a rabid fan base always helps the cause. A good Beavers team reflects well on the entire state of Oregon.
Tuesday at 06:47 AM5 days No. Lots of good points, Oregon123, particularly that a strong Oregon State program redounds to the benefit of all of the state, including OBD. One thing, though, it’s not a probability that the good OSU players will transfer, that is already happening. Addicus Sappington?
Tuesday at 09:59 AM5 days No. 14 hours ago, Charles Fischer said:Well, the other serious question refers to the SEC; how good are they if Ole Miss barely beat the Cougars at home?Truthfully the SEC has been diluted to the point where it's a very even conference, but it's incredibly ovverrated. Alabama still lost to FSU, they've dominated SEC play. To me that loss still counts. You can't just pretend it didn't happen. My prediction is Alabama will end up being the best SEC team, even though A&M has the best win of any team this far(@Notre Dame). But Ole Miss, Georgia, Texas, Vanderbilt, and Oklahoma aren't beating Indiana, Oregon, or Ohio State.
3 hours ago3 hr No. This monumental oac loss really deserves its own thread.Nothing makes me smile more than seeing that dump take another loss to a school they would hold their nose to.I want to see WSU win their leftover conference next year while oac goes winless. BETTER IDEA: oac goes FCS and goes .500 with a loss to Portland State.
