Ugh! Not good news. Jordan Davison suffered a broken clavicle.

Oregon Ducks running back Jayden Limar is set to enter the transfer portal. The departure of the junior, who served as a team captain in games against Oregon State and Washington, will be felt throughout the program, especially following a key injury at the position just before the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Peach Bowl against No. 1 Indiana.

Oregon Ducks running back Jayden Limar is set to enter the transfer portal, leaving a gap in the team’s roster. The junior, who earned team captain honors for the matchups against Oregon State and Washington, has been a key leader both on and off the field.

Limar's departure comes at a particularly challenging time for the Ducks, who are also facing a critical injury at the running back position. Per Aaron Fentress of The Oregonian, true freshman Jordon Davison suffered a broken clavicle and is likely unavailable for the rest of the CFP

If Davison broke his collar bone it wasn't during the game, because he finished with a goal line score and the wings celebration.

I hope this rumor is false.

Why does it feel like the deck is stacked against Oregon every year?

Nothing official yet from Oregon. I doubt this news has no basis, but a "fractured" clavicle could be a slight AC (acromioclavicular) separation that would be painful but not debilitating. Just got to wait to find out.

Spencer is reporting it as well about Jordan Davison

Time to let Noah Whittington put together his two best games he's ever played as a Duck and go out as a hero! With Dierre Hill in there to keep him fresh of course.

Rewatching the 3rd down run by him at the very end of the game he landed a little weird and got up slow. Guessing that is when it happened.

Hopefully Limar stays with the team and plays on Friday as we need him.

Damn, was hoping it was all rumor. Maybe Moga wants to switch to RB for the remaining season.

Nasir Wyatt recruited as an LB was spotted repping with RBs during practice.

Wrap it down from under the shoulder, take pain killers and off you go?

Always happens to us, something has to happen to ruin chances. Huge loss since Davison was the RB having the most success against Indiana last time. It also cripples our ability to use the 2 RB formations we've using to great affect. It's always us, Indiana deals with one injury the entire year while we have to deal with injury after injury.

It’s likely not a clean break. He could’ve done it earlier in the game and it just presented as soreness or a bruise. Still, you don’t want to play even with a small fracture. Whittington is actually the team’s leading rusher. He’s just going to have to carry more of the load.

I dont remember what game it was this year but NW played like an absolute beast.

Hopefully he finds that gear again.

I think Hill and Whittington are good backs but neither of them bring the physicality that Davison does, it's a huge loss. We're also one injury away now from essentially having one RB available. Really hope Limar will stay since he might fit into being the fullback in the 2-1 personnel packages

This is terrible news. I hope the coaches also look at utilizing Kenyon Sadiq in the backfield as a blocker and/or short yardage ball carrier. I believe that Teitum Tuioti and Bryce Boettcher also came in for a TD (USC game?).

All hands on deck!

Running Duo around 30% of our offensive snaps was our best chance to keep the pass rush off Dante. Not having #0 is worst case scenario for us against that front seven.

Unless we see the passing game click better than ever my hopes are at an all time low. I expect a record number of screens to our tight ends and receivers which I'm sure thrills all of us.

Different time and place, I know, but this brings to mind in ‘21 when the Ducks went into The Shoe hearing that both Kayvon Thibodeaux and Justin Flowe were unable to play. And Duck fans remember well how that game went.

Yes that was Cristobal’s team but I have at least as much confidence that Dan Lanning can lead these Ducks to overcome this setback too.

Dang. Does Kenyon Barner have any eligibility left? He's around the program....just sayin.

Alot of players played both ways in high school. Maybe they can find someone to help a little.

Going to need an air-raid offense anyway.

That's my take as well, but air raid doesn't work if we don't have running game.

FWIW, Oregonian says Jay Harris participated n the Monday practice. So maybe he will play...

This sucks but seriously if Hill and Whittington can't get it done Davison wouldn't make that much of a difference. On the bright side Hill can now run between the tackles.

Been an Oregon fan for a very long time and it's hard not to feel like we're snake-bit on stuff like this.

But someone who knows better correct me if I'm wrong--but it's my understanding that Limar entering the portal doesn't mean he can't play (if he and the team want him to). Is that right?

No word yet on who was at practice today for the RBs. Da'Juan Riggs was out for the Orange Bowl, so it's unlikely he'll be available Friday. That Harris was present yesterday, after declaring he would enter the portal, is encouraging. He may not have the burst of Davison but is a bruiser and even if he only plays in the Peach Bowl before officially hitting the portal, he helps the Ducks.

Maybe we see an expanded role for Grace as a blocker or even a decoy who can carry the ball for short yardage. Ditto lining Sadiq up in the backfield or putting him in the slot and bringing him back in.

We already know that Platt has practiced with the RBs, he carried the rock in HS and that he is 230 lbs with an 11.0 sec 100m. Ditto for Kamar Mothudi, who likely has a higher upside at 6'3" 240, track speed, and rushed for 1400 yds as a junior before concentrating his senior year on the LB position. Neither burn their redshirt with bowl appearances.

There is no doubt that losing Davison will be a significant loss, but WS undoubtedly has schemed something up. I doubt there will be any full house 3-1 formations but there is a lot of talent to work with using one RB and a host of other position players.

Hell's bells, go jumbo, give the rock to Boettcher, stick him on Pregnon's fanny and let 'er rip.

And let's face it, the health of the RB room means diddly squat if the O-line loses in the trenches. That is where the game will be won.

I completely disagree, respectfully of course.

Davison is a special player and will be missed. He is a completely different back, with a different skill set, compared to Witt and Hill. They are all complimentary to one another.

Hopefully someone can step up to fill the void.

Hill will surprise with an outstanding performance. More touches more productivity. I Dakorian Moore will play slot receiver a lot which will help free up TE's over the middle.

Yes, Limar can stay with the team to play even if he enter the portal in the playoffs.

I think we have enough in the run & screen game to implement an AR offense.

AI-No, you don't

needa traditional, heavy running game for an Air Raid offense, as it's primarily pass-focused, but a complementary, simple run game (like inside zone, counters) and effective screens are crucial for balance, keeping defenses honest, and creating opportunities for receivers by stressing defenders horizontally and vertically, turning quick passes into effective "runs". The goal is to use minimal run plays, practiced efficiently, to complement the passing game, not replace it, with RPOs and QB runs also adding elements.

I have my doubts that Dan Lanning would play a player who has opted for the Transfer Portal. JMHO

I've been keeping my eye on the roster online, and as soon as a player hits the portal, they're removed from the roster. Limar & Hughes are both gone. Jay Harris is still on there, but I also read within the last hour that he's officially in the portal now, so it'll be interesting to see if his name still remains on the roster and if he stays with the team. This whole thing is crazy so it's probably useless trying to make sense of anything prior to kickoff Friday. In Dan we trust!
