Just Ducky No. 6 Share Posted December 18, 2022 Nice to see the Ducks land some of the wealth of talent that Alabama has. These kids are well coached and are probably itching to get more playing time. I can’t see anything on the downside from this practice. Go S
PittDuck No. 7 Share Posted December 18, 2022 Is anyone else worried about the fact that Saban suspended him from the team? What for? On field antics or off field antics? This may not be the good thing we hope it is…
Just Ducky No. 8 Share Posted December 18, 2022 There are lots of examples of kids having trouble and get some new scenery which transforms their lives. Hopefully this is one of those. We will know more next spring. In the meantime I’m willing to let the coaches do their job and support their decision 100%. 1
EastBayDuckDad Moderator No. 9 Share Posted December 18, 2022 I imagine that DL and staff know the details of Jackson's suspension and didn't see it as a deal breaker. Remember Bennett Williams got suspended from the Illinois football team after an All American freshman season. Oregon took a chance on him, he righted the ship and became a leader. On paper Jackson doesn't look like the second coming of Gonzo but he has size, skill and SEC playing time. I think he will be an impact player at a needed position. 1

That was the case in former Colorado corner Christian Gonzalez and that worked out to perfection. Lanning is going to the well once again with former Alabama corner Khyree Jackson. OregonDucks No. 11 Share Posted December 18, 2022 (edited) Alabama to Oregon pipeline?! Yes, please...keep it coming! This is a great pickup, in an obvious area of need. He was the #1 JC cornerback before choosing Alabama over the Ducks and many other programs. It should be a good battle for the starting cornerback position and the players who don’t win could potentially move to safety or still see playing time. Lanning and the coaches are killing it in the portal. Edited December 18, 2022 by OregonDucks Expand
Log Haulin No. 12 Share Posted December 18, 2022 I have concerns with this guy. Very little stats for a senior, suspension primarily. Can't say this is a great get yet. Hopefully it is. Jackson has good size. He has been coached and played with some of the best talent in the country. Could be a diamond. Corners need to step up next year. Hopefully Bridges can move back to safety. Jackson could very well be one of those guys.
Charles Fischer Administrator No. 13 Share Posted December 18, 2022 Analysis of him at On3 is very uplifting, as he would have been starting at nearly everywhere else, but was sitting behind two first-round NFL Draft picks at corner at Alabama, and that is no surprise. But as a DB I'd you do your job right sometimes the stats don't show up at all. I know Ifo at Oregon had an incredible season and it was followed by a lack luster season statistically because he wasn't thrown at as much. I don't know where he ranks on other sites but I think on3 has him as one of the best CBs in the transfer portal. But on3 has some weird outliers in terms of ratings too. Notalot No. 15 Share Posted December 19, 2022 "What can you fo for me now" has become the mantra of the present football environment. Bo Nix is a known commodity and winner for Oregon. He is an established leader and gamer. Nix provides continuity in the transition of the new OC. He is a magnet for closing recruiting WR's and RB's. His return is a win for Oregon football. Any further developments will be icing on the cake.
