Holy Crap! Never, Never, NEVER in Recruiting at Oregon Before!
Thank you, Charles. 14 fewer recruits than SC and yet, so close. But Oregon is winning the battle of the average recruit ranking. 2nd in 247's top 10 and only slightly behind Bama. How about two Left Coast schools ahead of Ohio State, Michigan, and, OMG! Penn State. UW's class is ranked No. 13 by 247. I believe this is UW's highest ranking ever. Eight B1G teams ranked in the top 30 by 247. I think this could be an all-time B1G showing for the conference. Considering quality over quantity, how about Billy Bob Belichick at UNC? 39 recruits signed, and the Tar Heels are not in the top 15. And, BTW, and with TB still missing, the Patriots under Ohio State grad and possible COY, Mike Vrabel, are 10-2, in the POs, and QB Drake Maye could be the POY. It would be sweet to finish first and score another win over USC.😁

Holy Crap! Never, Never, NEVER in Recruiting at Oregon Before!
I assume this change is due to Hartline leaving for South Florida. Is it a given that tOSU is a no? Certainly hoping the Ducks can reel Chris Henry Jr in! Great recruiting class either way though! Congrats my Duck friends, this class will pay dividends and I’m very happy to see it!

If you’re talking about Chris Henry then it’s Texas who allegedly has the biggest offer on the table.

My speculation is that SUC is offering more money, but he wants to go to OBD.

Oregon No. 5 in CFP Playoff Rankings
Marcus Freeman, 1-2 vs the committee's top 25 with losses to No. 12 Miami and No. 7 A&M, and a win over No. 16 USC, is shocked that the committee jumped Bama ahead of Notre Dame. Perhaps the committee believes a win at Auburn is more impressive than a win at Stanford? I hope SC drops the Irish. The series benefits the Domers monetarily and recruiting-wise, and does nothing for an SC team now required to make three B1G eastern trips every season.

I’m hearing Jalen Lott may be holding off sending in his LOI until the Chris Henry situation gets resolved. He apparently signed it this morning at his school’s signing ceremony.

And now a Jett as well. I'm surprised so many signed without finality of the coordinator replacements. I would have expected more commits simply holding off until they get more clarity.

Stein vs. Stein Offense Statistics
Comparing the Stein years? Well, one could also use something like Offensive FEI (opponent-adjusted offensive efficiency, scoring advantage per non-garbage time possession) over at BCSToys? 2023 1 Oregon 1.13 2 LSU 1.09 3 Georgia 0.85 4 Washington 0.65 2024 1 Ohio State 0.81 2 Oregon 0.76 3 Miami 0.73 4 Indiana 0.63 2025 1 Vanderbilt 1.01 2 USC 0.81 3 Oregon 0.75 4 Old Miss 0.72 A dip in non-garbage time offense from year one to three with all 3 seasons firmly elite level? If Stein did stay another year the trend would suggest another dip to 4th in the nation on offense in 2026. Offensive F+ shows a similar pattern.

ESPN College Football Gameday at SEC Championship Game
I’ve been watching the show from the beginning and that’s not the “spirit” of the show. ESPN College Football Gameday was all about celebrating and promoting the culture, passion and pageantry of college football. In the past, they would have selected the B1G Conference Championship game because it’s the only 2 undefeated teams remaining - #1 vs. #2. David vs. Galiath. Now we shrug our shoulders because they picked the game that will be broadcast on their network. That’s the problem with ESPN and now College Football Gameday - they have completely sold out and are a shell of what they used to be. ESPN let go most of the people who got them to become the “World Wide Leader in Sports” and paid those who are the loudest and say the most outrageous takes. I guess nothing lasts forever…

Stein vs. Stein Offense Statistics
Each column is a comparison against itself, with green (good), yellow/orange (middle), and red (bad/worst). But as you noted, those colors are relative to each other, and not necessarily "good" or "bad" in general. Your example could go the other way as well. If rushing yards per game was 101, 100, and 99, then the 101 would be highlighted green for "good". That said, what I wanted to presented was to see how Stein's offenses did relative to each other. I'll present the full data table in my next post that compares all coaches back to 2007, or so. That will give a better indicator of actual "good, middle, bad".
