With the Job in Front of Them, Ducks Should Make a Radical Uniform Choice
The crazy thing is that we only have ONE loss! We are still in the playoff running. Win out and we're in, it's as simple as that. Also... I would be thrilled with the six seed. It puts us on the opposite side of the bracket from Ohio State and we get a home game at Autzen and a favorable match up in round two. I'd take the six seed over the five seed. I'm not afraid of Ohio State but I don't think we are ready for them at this time and delaying that match up would be best for our post season goals. So much of the anger right now is that Oregon is not winning by enough at times. Sure, we laid an egg against Indiana but its an opportunity to grow. Bama got demolished by Florida State and FSU doesn't look that good anymore so keep that in mind. We are all striving for perfection but perfection will never be attained.

Week 10 - Many a B1G Nap - But B1G Games Will be Played
Note - Due to AP voters failing to rank two-loss B1G teams in its last somewhat meaningful poll of the season, this post uses the Massey Computer Ratings. One third of B1G teams are napping in Week 10: No. 18 Iowa, No. 45 Northwestern, No. 6 Oregon, No. 62 UCLA, No. 61 Wisconsin, and No. 19 Washington. One of the preseason's most anticipated B1G games has not come to fruition. No. 1 Ohio State -20.5 vs. No. 33 Penn State - 9 AM Fox Make no mis-state, Franklin's flameout has burned the entire conference. This would have been a football game with over 4 million views. Now? Penn State did show up and compete at Iowa last Saturday. Will it do the same in Columbus? Another B1G question: Will Jim Knowles show up in a Halloween costume? Week 10 features one Big Ten playoff elimination game. The BCS (Battered Coaches Syndrome) Game. No. 31 6-2 Nebraska +6.5 vs. No. 20 5-2 USC - 4:30 NBC What if I were to tell you that Penn State was paying James Franklin 500,000 Franklins to get lost, because in twelve seasons at Penn State, Jimmy was 15-8 vs. Top 25 teams and 4-20 vs. Top 10 teams. And that Nebraska coach, Matt Ruhle, 2-23 against ranked opponents, is one of the leading candidates to replace Franklin. And that this isn't a movie. 😁 Losing to ranked opponents is the Ruhle for this once proud program. The last time the Cornhuskers shucked a ranked opponent happened in 2016, when No. 2 Alabama defeated No. 1 Clemson 🙃to win Saint Nick another Natty. What if I were to tell you that a coach being paid more than $10 million a year by USC is 4-11 against ranked opponents in his time at Troy, and is 1-6 East of the Rockies? There are no longer tie games in college football; one team has to win and remain playoff eligible. For OBD's SOS sake, let's hope it's SC (Gulp). Other, perhaps in name only, B1G games. No. 51 Maryland +21.5 vs. No. 2 Indiana - 12:30 CBS No. 21 Michigan -20.5 vs. No. 84 Purdue - 4 PM BTN Poor-Due keeps inventing ways to lose close games. Your QB catches his own batted pass, fumbles, and Rutgers kicks the winning FG with two seconds left? 🤪 No. 29 Illinois -12.5 vs. 64 Rutgers - 9 AM NBC No. 44 Minnesota +/- Who cares? vs. No. 71 Michigan State 12:30 BTN Top 25 vs. Top 25 - No. 17 (!!!) Vanderbilt at No. 10 (!!!) Texas - 9 AM ABC No. 14 Oklahoma at No. 11 Tennessee - 4:30 PM ABC No. 24 Cincinnati at No. 21 Utah - 7 PM ESPN HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Oregon Football: Time for the Ducks to Panic?
I can't get away from the reoccurring disappearance of Kenyon Sadiq. Either our coaches are doing a masterful job of disguising his immense abilities, or opposing coaches are finding ways to nullify his impact on the game. My feeling is, as Kenyon goes, so go our playoff aspirations.

Oregon Football: Time for the Ducks to Panic?
"Facade" is absolutely the wrong term. Perhaps Tom just needs a dictionary. Facade typically indicates deception, fake, etc. Totally the wrong word in this situation. For one to be in panic mode, would require me to recall what my expectations were for this team at the beginning of the season. I expected us to primarily have a rebuilding season. I felt like a two loss season would be a solid one for us this year. Expectations certainly changed overnight after the Penn State win. And then a week later, reality struck. The talent is there, and, while it will be a huge challenge, I think this team is quite capable of winning out the season. Frankly, I still have no idea how good this team is in regards to the playoffs. We played poorly against Indiana and only lost by 10. That gives me some hope that we can compete with the big boys when the time comes. But, at this point, I'm absolutely not convinced of that. I'm concerned that if we do get into the playoffs, that we will potentially have another beatdown like OSU gave us last year. Finally, with all of that being said, this team has a great opportunity to grow up fast over the next several weeks. Here's to hoping that they do.

With the Job in Front of Them, Ducks Should Make a Radical Uniform Choice
I love the change of uniforms, and while I agree that black is being overused....to suggest the woes on the field are from an excessive focus on uniforms? That notion is silly to me, and is proof that Dale was hurting for writing topics. Been there!

The Oregon RB Rotation Needs to Change
James had some speed that could get him around the edge faster than the linebackers could fill the gap and he was paired with offensive linemen who were built for speed to seal those edges off to make a lane for him. He was also working in an offense that most defenses didn't know how to effectively defend yet. Now most defenses know how to defend against these outside runs and zone reads better. Wisconsin and Indiana defended the edges well early on and actually had the tackles on their heels. But it was up the gut that Davison found success and forced Wisconsin to adjust by not just recklessly attacking the edges because if they did that then Davison was going to rip off too many yards up the middle. This did open up some runs for Whittington along the edges later in the game. I love LaMichael James and what he did for the program but I'm not sure he would be as effective today as he was back then.

With the Job in Front of Them, Ducks Should Make a Radical Uniform Choice
I've seen fans on social media with some pretty hot takes. Most of them revolve around firing our assistant coaches and questioning why certain players are getting or not getting reps. However, a journalist suggesting that uniform color or style degrades or improves performance on the field is a whole new level of delusion. I would love to see Dan Lanning's reaction to a Dale Bliss question about the content of this article.

CBS's Tom Fornelli's weekly B1G take has questions for OBD. But 'facade' is a bit harsh, no? Oregon Football: Time for the Ducks to Panic?
Alex, although I agree with your sentiments, I still have concerns that they will overcome the challenges they have ahead of them. As fans, we go from wanting landslide victories, to just any kind of win...and one point is fine! The bye week timing is perfect for players to hunker down, study, practice, and improve. Our own Big-10 weather!

Oregon Football: Time for the Ducks to Panic?
Thanks Alex good food for thought. I actually am concerned with a Panic Meter of 5-6. My concern is which Dante Moore is going to show up? He can be absolutely marvelous at times and at other times he looks like a deer caught in the headlights. It seems if everything is close to perfect with the running game working, great blocking etc, he will be quite good but if things are not perfect, his performance seems to plummet.

With the Job in Front of Them, Ducks Should Make a Radical Uniform Choice
Only problem with that is they set up every game's uniform in the spring and early summer to ensure they have enough equipment. Though I will say that I am absolutely tired of the black uniforms and the white and the white and black. I am so ready for some green and yellow. It feels like there has been a general lack of green and yellow this year.

With the Job in Front of Them, Ducks Should Make a Radical Uniform Choice
I've always believed that the uniform combos should be earned not given. Keep the three year uniform rotation, but start with the base home and away kits in the early season. As the wins come, so do the combos. I feel like this would still sell extremely well with the recruits; as well as have the backing of the fans.

Brian Kelly at LSU? Fired. Who Are They & Other Teams Going to Replace HCs With?
Is there a team in college football this year that cannot be defeated? I look around college football and don’t see a Nick Saban Alabama or Pete Carroll USC team. Heck, even those teams lost big games during their runs.

Brian Kelly at LSU? Fired. Who Are They & Other Teams Going to Replace HCs With?
We’ve got our guy and he is not going anywhere😊. But, it’s the coaching tree under Lanning we need to hold our breath with. Josh Pate reveals the God's honest truth about Dan Lanning and LSU"Dan is one of the only people-- in fact he is the only person who has this specific setup that he has at Oregon." "When Phil Knight and Oregon believe 'we've got our guy' and he says, 'bye,' the next guy you bring in, once you decide he's the guy and they've long since decided Lanning is the guy, he's not leaving." He never was, won’t be and never will be an option anytime soon. Stop asking, the answer is no. Lanning's total deal with the Ducks and Mr. Knight won't be matched by anyone, Pate says. Add to that, the 39-year-old head coach, his wife and his three boys are extremely happy in Eugene. He's said frequently that he has everything he needs to win at Oregon. The program is currently building a 170,000-square-foot indoor athletic facility, set to open in 2027. Under construction west of Autzen Stadium, the new facility includes "practice space, a weight room, a players' lounge, and direct access to the current complex,"which will be converted for use by other sports. The project will cost an estimated $250 million, funded entirely by Mr. Knight and other donors. The commitment to success, starting with retaining their 42-7 head coach, is total. Dan Lanning's not leaving, and before he retires he's going to win multiple national championships at the place where the grass is damn green. He's got the players, the culture and the vision to win at Oregon. Playing in the Big Ten, they have the national profile and revenue to compete with anyone, even the SEC Autzen ZooJosh Pate reveals the God's honest truth about Dan Lannin...Monday on an interview with Blake Ruffino of AYS Sports, an LSU podcast, Josh Pate addressed the speculation that Dan Lanning could be headed to the Bayou.

The Oregon RB Rotation Needs to Change
I’m not a coaching guru but that 99 yard drive and subsequent drives it sure felt like Davison was the spark. NW was consistently getting dropped at the LOS until that drive. NW’s runs up to that 99 yard drive (1.5 YPC): 5 yards 2 yards 2 yards 2 yards 0 yards -2 yards Then Davison finally gets some carries during Oregon’s final possession of the first half and averaged 5.75 YPC (excl. the 3 yard TD carry): 2 yards 2 yards 7 yards 11 yards 11 yards 6 yards 4 yards 3 yards 3 yard TD Perhaps Oregon’s offense made an adjustment, as you suggested, or Davison is just a more consistent every down back and a better fit for our offensive line’s strength. Davison came in and provided our offense with a spark.

Oregon Coach Dan Lanning Made His Stance Clear On Leaving DucksThere are multiple premier jobs open in college football in the Big Ten and SEC. As the coaching carousel spins, Oregon Ducks coach Dan Lanning is a "hot name to watch." Would Lanning leave Oregon? Lanning opened up about his commitment to the Ducks, the NFL and his future plans in an exclusive interview. A winning coach with a superb culture, a coach like Lanning is in demand. In an era when college football programs are constantly chasing identity, Oregon already has one and it mirrors its coach: aggressive, modern and unapologetically ambitious. Yet Lanning’s loyalty to Oregon suggests he’s more interested in building a dynasty than chasing the next big opportunity. “I'm not going anywhere. So I don't spend a lot of time on ‘what ifs.’ I think it speaks to what we've done here as a program and what we've been able to build,” Lanning told Amaranthus in June of 2025. “It's a really special place. But to know that I'm really comfortable exactly where I'm at and where we're going to be, is just as important to me.” Oregon Ducks On SIOregon Coach Dan Lanning Made His Stance Clear On Leaving...There are multiple premier jobs open across college football, especially in the Big Ten and SEC -programs with deep pockets, national pedigrees, and a history o

Interesting take. The weather conditions may have affected the play, but I didn't think the energy was sucked out of Autzen Stadium, due to unis, weather, or otherwise. People were loud and enthusiastic.
