  1. Past hour
  2. Neither Cal or Stanford care enough about football to make the financial commitment necessary to compete seriously at national level. Their addition wouldn't raise the bar much in any case. The "Pac" whatever will never be considered a power conference. They will be lucky to get lower bowl bids. Mr JC is completely delusional. Got to appreciate his attempts to garner attention and beat that Pac(St)eight drum though. He is relentless, in a most enjoyable and humorous way.
  3. The Big-12 media contract is 33 million per school, compared to our B1G media payout of 54 million. The Big-12 cannot afford to split it further... Imagine if we had taken the Apple deal at 24 million...or even ESPN's at 30 million. We would be like Beavis...
  4. From an article in The Athletic... "Big 12 athletic directors recently met on the idea, and conference presidents talked about it on Monday. But the determination was that the league is not interested. One source said there was “very little momentum for this,” and multiple league sources expressed concern that adding Memphis could “dilute” the league’s value in the next television deal."

  6. Pretty good separation between No.9 USC and No.10 Washington, 53 points, I'd have the order reversed,
  7. The Athletic’s latest valuation: Why Oregon’s football program deserves better The Athletic’s latest valuation:...The Athletic’s latest valuation: Why Oregon’s football pr...The Ducks have the results and resources, but The Athletic’s rankings don’t reflect that. Is the valuation missing Oregon’s true potential?
  8. “His Euro numbers indicate he’s got a lot of practice work to do in rebounding, blocks and from the free throw line if he’s going to become a serious contributor.” You can’t teach humungousness!
  9. Ohio St finished third behind Oregon and Penn St and went on to win the National Championship. That being said still prefer to win the Big title back to back
  10. Cal and Stanford are irrelevant as far as football goes, who is the head coach at Stanford now? The coach at Cal is some guy named Wilcox.
  11. Omigosh! In an article today where John Canzano complains about the meager earnings from the ACC, coupled with the terrible travel for Cal/Stanford athletes...John refers again to the quote he uses often to soothe the feelings of his Orange followers. It is meant to offer hope... JS: I keep coming back to what former Stanford coach David Shaw told me when USC and UCLA bolted to the Big Ten. Shaw said he believed geography would ultimately win. I think Cal and Stanford both end up in a conference (or division) that is anchored in the Pacific Time Zone. “My heart of hearts tells me that in some point of time this will self-correct,” Shaw told me. Mr. FD: He is not a good guy to quote John, because if Shaw knew WTH he was talking about... ....he would still be the coach at Stanford.
  12. His Euro numbers indicate he’s got a lot of practice work to do in rebounding, blocks and from the free throw line if he’s going to become a serious contributor.
  13. Looks like they have their goals set a bit higher than the Pac-12... https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/breaking-news/article/memphis-proposing-lucrative-offer-to-join-big-12-but-it-lacks-support-from-conference-leadership-sources-175519540.html
  14. For sure, it'll be fun. Then, next year we have a "veteran" team, I guess. lol.
  15. Competition brings out the best.
  16. Yup, September will be our education of all the "new" guys.
  17. Yeah, it is crazy all the new players full of promise. We'll see. Thanks for you thoughts.
  18. Three seems fair. Penn State returns a ton on both sides of the ball and gets Oregon at home. osu2 has a 90+% blue chip ranking. Seems right to me. If Oregon finishes 3rd behind osu2 and Penn State, that still likely means a playoff birth.
  19. Last year, Ohio State was picked No.1, OBD was No.2, Penn State was No.3 and Michigan was No.4
  20. Just maybe we have a young enough team that nobody told them they were not supposed to beat favored teams. We have speed, and size, add a little discipline and luck, and we can roll with most teams. I think we have solid talent, but we need some players to step up into starting roles and hold their ground on defense.
  21. It's fine... We can hang under the radar for now.
  22. GUTSY! Along with LaBron, how many Clevelanders are Pennciling Out their subscription? 😁 OBD, Number 3! 🤬
  23. clevelandWhich team did media pick to win the conference in the 15...For the first time ever, Penn State is viewed as the favorite to win the Big Ten conference.
  24. A roster full of unknown four star dudes with something to prove. I love it.
