  2. Ohio State and Indiana are on a collision course, right? And more questions to be answered in the 2nd half of the season. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/seven-stretch-run-storylines-that-will-define-the-second-half-of-the-2025-college-football-season/?eid=c7d8647c6247db8d08c59fe44bc30380a147aa90b9e33099045cd46ddc6a485b&ftag=SNL-04-
  3. Cig is 64 years of age. His extended contract ends when he's 72. Where is he going to go to find a better gig? Ryan Day is not leaving Ohio State. Cig's been in the SEC. Why go back to the SEC pressure cooker when you have an easier shot at making the PO in the B1G? To wit - 6-0 - Indiana - Michigan State, UCLA, at Maryland, at Penn State, Wisconsin, at Purdue 5-1 - Oklahoma - at South Carolina, Ole Miss, at Tennessee, at Alabama, Missouri, LSU. Res Ipsa Loquitor. The thing speaks for itself. 😁 His loyal assistant coaches, who are still raising children and are happy in Bloomington. The loyalty goes both ways. It was Indiana AD Scott Dolson who took a chance on a 62-year-old coach who had never coached at the top level of college football. I don't believe Cig will forget the man and the school that elevated him to a big-time job and big-time money. His two losses at Indiana came last season on the road against the 2024-25 playoff champion and runner-up. He knew he needed to improve on both LOS and Mark Cuban, and other wealthy Hoosier boosters came up with the cash. Indiana has the largest living alumni base in the USA. A base that is fired up after only one glory year since 1884, 1967, when HC John Pont took Indiana to the Rose Bowl and a close loss to USC, OBD grad John McKay, and OJ. Today, a ticket to an Indiana home game is harder to score than a ticket to a Notre Dame home game. Cig hasn't revived or resurrected the program; there was nothing to revive or resurrect. He's turned the biggest nothing-burger in CFB and the Big Ten into filet mignon with endless pour Dom Perignon on the side. Unless something untoward happens, Indiana should go 12-0, play in the B1G title game in Indianapolis, and return to the playoff with a shot at winning a title this season. Amazing! Move over, Bill Snyder. 😁
  4. It's also kinda funny that Adidas US headquarters are also based in Oregon. So there is still a little bit of Oregon in their clothing.
  5. Today
  6. Ducks 30-20 1 1 190 New schemes because of Indiana on both sides of the ball. IMO every team is going to look at what Indiana did to confuse the Ducks.
  7. Oh-so very true. My first Oregon game was as a kid at Autzen. Huskies 66 Ducks 0 Frankly, it took 2+ longgg decades, along with a lot of therapy, to get over that start to 'My Life as a Duck.'
  8. It still amazes me the complete turnaround attitudes have taken between Oregon and Washington over the past 65 years. During the years of Jim Owens and Don James, they lived in our heads rent free. No one owns anyone else forever, but for now, nice to have the (Nike) shoe on the other (Adidas) foot.
  9. So, I say that if we're not getting the coach fired, we might as well help him get a $100 million contract. Cig should be sending flowers and chocolates to Oregon right now. I'm thinking that the timing of his Oregon win was worth at least an extra $15 million 😉
  10. OBD 31-23 2 ints 3 sacks 285 passing yards
  11. In tight games, the 4th quarter can tip on adrenaline. Against Penn State, it was their panic-driven urgency that put them back in contention. In the last ten minutes against Indiana, we couldn’t match their closing energy surge, perhaps because of the price we paid being in back to back top ten games. Not trying to make excuses. Just see this as part of the learning curve for our young leader.
  12. If they really want to show their disdain they must refer to Oregon as the team down south. They took the first step in getting Adidas, but that's a minor step imo. I would've tried Puma or some rugged outdoor company. Adidas is for European Futbol.
  13. •Ducks Win •45-21 •2 Ints •2 Sacks •321 passing yards
  14. Any redemption arc for Penn State is dependent on a functional QB. Unlike UCLA they don't have a 5 star talent they've kept bridled. We'll have to see how good Allar's backup is, before seeing what their new ceiling is.
  15. I forgot about Bray and Oregon State. They should hire coach Klein and see if the Waterboy has any availability yet. So it's three coaches fired, two Beavers conquered, and one coach getting the money tree.
  16. I'm playing to win here, Oregon 50-16 1 4 268
  17. Last time I recall a team that looked let down was when we lost the offensive coordinator to ASU...Think players became aware of some news?
  18. This. "Complimentary Football" is a 2 way street. Half the reason I thought our defense did so well against Indiana despite their 30 points was because of how many possessions they had that they didn't score either. I believe we kept them to a really respectable points per possession metric, especially for them being Indian that can run up the score at will against most teams.
  19. That may not age well... Maybe beat your current opponent first?
  20. I can't blow it up to see it either
  21. The No. 8 Oregon Ducks (5-1, 2-1 Big Ten) head east for a Saturday matchup against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (3-3, 0-3 Big Ten) this week. The Ducks are looking to bounce back after losing to Indiana 30-20 at home in Eugene. Last week’s loss was just the seventh under head coach Dan Lanning and the second at home since 2022. Oregon’s offense put up a season-low 267 total yards and ran for just 81 yards. The defense played a respectable game and did enough to keep the Ducks in that game. Rutgers on the other hand is back at home after a West Coast road trip of their own to Seattle, where the Scarlet Knights fell 38-19 to the Washington Huskies. The schedule doesn’t get much easier for them this weekend with a matchup against the Ducks. They’ll also face Ohio State, Maryland and Penn State this season after hosting Oregon on Saturday. The Ducks are the current betting favorites at -17 on BetMGM. This weekend’s game will be the first ever meeting between Oregon and Rutgers after the Ducks joined the Big Ten last season. 22. Oregon 49-17 3 take aways 6 sacks 338 passing yards
  23. I think the problem is largely Stein being very predictable, he doesn't adjust very quickly, he gets stubborn in his philosophy, he doesn't set up plays very well for later, a great example of this is the lack of fake screens to open up the go route on the outside, we were excellent at this during the Kelly and Helfrich years.
  24. Against the only two 'real' teams we have played -- IU & PSU, our 3rd down conversion rate has been atrocious. Against these two schools, we only converted on third down 28% of the time. And although our fourth down conversion rate is an impressive 73% (8/11), it's just a dangerous way of living and typically not sustainable. We seem to be getting ourselves in a hole on first down way too often. Hopefully, this changes starting tomorrow.
