  2. New Providence and Metuchen are about 43 miles South East of where I live. I live in the Warren County area.
  3. Ducks road record in two years of BIG Ten schedule: 9-0 Games at Michigan, Penn St, Iowa, Wisconsin, Washington, UCLA, Northwestern, Rutgers, Purdue. So far where ever or when ever the Ducks show up, it's been the home team's problem.
  4. I wonder if he is asking himself if that 26 year old model was worth it? 🤔
  5. Thanks, Darren, for once again Perking Up my day. 😁 Sorry, Brother, but Go Pats!
  6. I guess voters looked at the record when Bill had TB and when he didn't? Perhaps the TB Bucs winning a Super Bowl with TB was noted? Folks in Chapel Hill, NC, missed the memo. 🤪
  7. None of it makes sense. Northwestern has to play 11 games in a row including IU, Penn State, Iowa, Oregon, and Ohio State. Then Penn State gets the schedule of the year with a bye after 7 games and not playing Oregon, IU and Ohio State. Besides getting half shares of tv money or some of the new 4 getting more of half shares (I only know they are not full shares of tv money) it is easy to see the B10 Office has decided those 4 teams are going to have to "pay their dues" so to speak to be in the "Mighty Big Ten" ... It really is that obvious. Thank you for the complement. Like I told Charles yesterday, I was on IU forums back in 1997?, have been on many opponents forums before they were bought out by Rivals/On3 last year and after reading this forum a month or so before joining this is the best forum I go to. Most of the other fans including IU decided to follow those that require a subscription.
  8. Good point. But the fact that travel is more difficult for other sports does not negate the Big Ten handing Oregon eight games straight without a break, which includes two trips to the Eastern time zone in November. Twice in three seasons, B1G HQ has Oregon as the only Big Ten team playing eight in a row. This is a competitive disadvantage that should not have happened once, let alone twice.
  9. Good take. Thanks for being on the Forum and for all of the great posts. In a mega-conference with teams coast to coast, some teams will get the short end of the scheduling stick. Understood. What isn't right is taxing Oregon for the second time in three seasons, with eight B1G games in a row without a break, including a trip to Columbus on 11/7 and to East Lansing on 11/21. Like 2024, Oregon is the only Big Ten team playing eight straight without a break. THIS does not have to and shouldn't happen. It's a competitive disadvantage. Michigan plays seven in a row, Indiana, Iowa, Illinois, six straight, Penn State, and UW play 5, and USC, with an OOC opponent still to be named, plays 5. Just to rub it in, Illinois is off the week before Oregon travels East to play the Illini. Mercy!
  10. Thanks! It's amazing how much guys that age can put down. I remember when I was a student there in the mid-90s , I would load up every term on these coupon booklets that students could pick up at the EMU (the student center) . They had buy 1 get 1 free coupons for McDonalds and Carl's Jr.. So, pretty much everyday I would scarf down 2 Big Macs OR 2 Western Bacon Cheeseburgers and a large fry, no problem. Just standard eating, didn't slow me down a bit, and never became overweight. Ah, the benefits of youth. Man, I could NOT eat that much today if I tried. Thank goodness I learned about healthy eating and nutrition in my mid-late 20s.
  11. This 8-month-long football drought really does suck. Can we have an abbreviated spring season or just start the season then and take a break in summer if needed? Long shot I know, but why not, since everyone likes it and there is more $$$ for E$PN and the players...
  12. Nothing has topped getting fired on the tarmac!
  13. Here's more on the Ducks twice in three seasons being behind a Big Ten scheduling 8-ball and the demands of traveling twice to the Eastern time zone in November. Autzen ZooOregon's 2026 schedule demands adjustments in planning, p...No one has depth anymore, not like the pre-portal days. Oregon lost 30 players to the NIL chase. Texas Tech lost 31.. Suck it up and play ball! Fine, but being asked to play 8 Big Ten games in a row, again, is over the line.
  14. I've said it in other threads, but the amount of travel that football does is dwarfed by the amount of travel that basically all other team sports in the department have to do. I have zero sympathy for Oregon football, Oregon volleyball? Oregon soccer? I have a lot more sympathy for them since they aren't afforded the luxuries that football get along with more travel.
  15. Thank you, NJ. This is one of the best DucksWire articles I've read. It hits the schedule's high notes and low notes. I am not the only one to notice the game in Stillwater will be against a much-improved team. In his second season at North Texas, Eric Morris took the Mean Green to the AAC champ game. 17 players are following Morris to OK St, including QB Drew Mestermaker, whose 4,379 passing yards were the best in FBS in 2025. OBD better make no misstate in the first three games. 😁 The author noted that the Ducks, as in 2024, play eight games in a row against B1G opponents without a week off. What he failed to add is that Oregon is the only Big Ten team running this gauntlet. In 2024, Oregon was the only FBS team to play eight straight without a break. I'm in the process of determining whether this will be the case in 2026, and I will report back. As the author did note, OBD travels to the Eastern time zone twice in November, Week 10 at Ohio State, and Week 12 at Michigan State. UW had this November travel yo-yo west to east late in the 2025 season; one reason UW lost at Wisconsin. The weather in Columbus on 11/7 should be decent, but 11/21 in East Lansing, Michigan? Thanks again, NJ.
  16. Today
  17. ….until someone stands up to them and says….enough! It all starts with every ND opponent. They all must stand in unison or it won’t work.
  18. There’s no crying in Foooootbaaaall! Oregon down right demanded to be a part of the B1G. We wanted the $$$, we wanted the prestige, we wanted the validation for a path to the playoffs by playing Michigan and ‘Ohio’, yeah I said it. It’s a simple extra 3-5 hr flight as well as a 3hr earlier game time. We play anywhere anytime! Midnight???!! Let’s Go Ducks!! Take Flight!
  19. It is funny how a lot of talking heads are screaming bloody murder over this, yet it is crickets for the MLB players not getting in. There are different levels of cheating, but Bill is a cheater. I'd put him in along with all the MLB guys and explain about his cheating past.
  20. Safety rules and all of that. However, the Empire State building was completed in just under 14 months. March 17, 1930 - April 11, 1931. Things can be built much faster, but all the safety inspections required slows things way down. Unfortunately, University of Oregon can't have city, state and federal inspectors onsite 24/7. It is hurry up and build, then wait for inspectors. Hurry up and build, then wait for inspectors.
  21. Good ol’ Lane is always better than people think, but not quite as great as many hope. However, his entertainment value is off the charts. Would I be surprised if he won a Natty at LSU? Nope. Would I be surprised if he flames out? Again, nope. Just an all around fascinating character.
  22. Just wait until someone leaks the LSU salaries and who is making what. It's bound to happen. Just wait until someone leaks the payroll list so they see who is getting paid what. Combine that with a couple of losses and their season is total chaos.
  23. I would love to see that but they have played some of those B10 teams for over 50 years. IU finally gets to play them home and home starting in 2030. With their 2026 guarantee of getting into the playoffs every year if they are in the Top 12 of the committee's ranking, they will never join a conference now. They use the B10 for their hockey team because the ACC doesn't having hockey. Sad to say ND will never be relegated to the level of BYU ... their arrogance, entitlement and history are too much to overcome when it comes to relegating them lower.
  24. Anywhere New Providence NJ, or Metuchen?
  25. Great idea as I sit in 6° weather again this morning. 11-1 / 5 / 2 / 315 for B1G games
