Spoiled Brats: CFB's Biggest Babies
SEC because they claim to play tough schedules but they only play 8 conference games. A&M didn’t play one SEC playoff team this year. I’ll give the other four playoff teams credit for beating a SEC playoff team this season, but a lot of their ranked games came from playing Mizzou, Vandy, and Tennessee. However, it’s not just this season. Did you know that A&M has been in the SEC since 2012 and has only played UGA once in the regular season? UGA and Bama only met once during the regular season during the years of the 4-team playoff format. They’ve gone out of their way to protect their big name teams. Lastly, Bama getting to play for the BCS championship and go to the playoff without winning their division is pretty lame as well.

What? Preseason Top-10 Teams....That Are Not Even in the Playoffs?
Thank you, Charles. It's chaotic and frustrating but pay-for-play and transfer-whenever-for-whatever-or-no-reason seem to have leveled the playing field. Piling on and pointing out other preseason and early-season errors. We got Knowles, you got ... Patricia? 😜 Dabo, doing it his way, leads Clemson to another championship! 😧 The Real Death Valley winners were not Kelly's Heroes, even though Brian used a million dollars of Pat Mc ... er, his dollars to build a roster that would sweep the South and not buy a $54 million broom to sweep him out of office. 🤬 The Guv of Louisiana wants you to know that he is focused on matters far more important than college football. 🤪 He simply can't remember what they are. 🤔 All of you Butkus Award winners whose spouses are Blackhawk pilots, please step forward. USA! USA! USA! 👍👌❤️ FSU beats Bama! What a Seminole win! We're bac... We were invited to a bowl, notwithstanding our 5-7 record, but we obviously don't need the extra practices. 🙃 Texas is bac ... er, Cheesing It vs. Michigan. What's that? On September 12, 2026, Ohio Wesleyan will be replacing Ohio State? (Same season ticket price!) 😉 Yes, Virginia, there is a Duke. Not to be confused with the Dukes making their way West to Autzen. (And it don't cost OBD nothin' to play a Sun Belt team! 🤑) We defeated USC! We don't understand the reason we're not in. We had the nation's best losses. We're taking our ball and staying in South Bent! 😇 Oregon played a crummy schedule. Six Big Ten teams are not bowl eligible. Your conference sucks! The Ducks are wayyyy overrated! What's that? Six ACC, B12, and say-it-ain't so, Pawalll, SEC teams aren't bowl eligible. Nothing to see here, move right along. ☹️ 14 new starters? The Ducks are foie gras. 🤔 We watched BYU blow lunch in Dallas. By the time the next game kicked off, it was 5 PM in Bristol, so between cocktails and hors d'oeuvre's we only have a foggy recollection of the game in Atlanta. What's that, Bama got the Dawg beat out of it? Waiter! More martinis with olives and make it snappy! 😴 Only five teams in and only three out of four hosting first round games! Greg Sankey demands that those enhanced new metrics be even more enhanced! 🤮 The U is in. ND is out, and we play JMU and not TOSU. Out OBD's way, this looks like another perfect day. 😍

SEC, always talks about how tough the conference is, how they deserve everything due to record, yet they refuse to acknowledge that the record is sustain due to playing 8 conference games so that everyone gets an extra win on their record. Let's see how that goes when the conference is guaranteed an extra 8 losses. Kirby Smart is soft for saying it will destroy the league, if the league is so great they will be able to survive it and thrive. Notre Dame is a close second for thinking that they are so special that they don't have to be in a conference without suffering consequences at times. If they were in a conference then I would have more sympathy for them.

Congrats, Brother Gat. You are now banned in Bristol and Birmingham! 🤬 According to posters in the post office, you are toast in Tuscaloosa. 😍

The AP looks at how a loss in August tarnished the Domers. Hey, AP, this just in! In the NFL, a loss in September does not go away because it was a 'good loss,' the team that lost improves during the season, and come October, according to a committee of unaccountable experts, the team looks so good when winning. To Hades with the record, this team deserves to be in the PO! (Like Alabama and South Carolina last season, right?) AP NewsWhy did Notre Dame's August loss cost the Irish a playoff...The College Football Playoff selection committee's decision in 2025 has sparked controversy. Notre Dame was dropped from the playoff despite not playing last week.

LOL. I just saw that Penn State plays Clemson in the Pinstripe Bowl. What should that game be called (e.g., “What Coulda Been Bowl”)?

Spoiled Brats: CFB's Biggest Babies
I voted SEC and I dont think Bama should have a spot in the playoffs.

Go Suck A Fart Notre Dame!
I'd just take the bowls, and use them to determine a G6 champion. That champion could get elevated for a season to a P4 conference, if they win the conference, promote them. It would never work in reality, but it'd be fun to see.

I voted for Notre Dame, but if I was being honest, I should've voted SEC. I just can't, that would include me by affiliation😂.

I'm just over the excuse making of what is meant to be the toughest league in football. Alabama didn't get punished for a third loss. We all know that there will be about ten SEC ranked teams to start the year. Losing one to them won't hurt, winning will help. You get praised for the wins, and excuses for losing to a now much higher ranked opponent.

Spoiled Brats: CFB's Biggest Babies
USC - Just completed year 4 with their coach and have zero playoff appearances or conference titles to show for it…yet still think they’re elite. I think we have pretty clear proof that in the 12 team playoff era, ANY P4 program can be successful within 2 years with the right investments and leadership. They keep failing without a shred of humility.

Spoiled Brats: CFB's Biggest Babies
•Notre Dame opted out of a bowl, they took their ball and went home. Join a conference, or try not to lose to the only good opponents you play. •SEC. You got five teams in, heck you got a three loss , non conference champion that got dominated in Atlanta. Yet you want Georgia to be number two, and you are crying because Texas, and Vanderbilt got left out. You got almost half the field!! On top of that, the winning coach of the SEC title game used his press çonference to complain about nine conference games, and how it's going to destroy the league . Again, you always get the benefit of the doubt!!! Why does my team have to be associated with this loser mentality? It makes us look soft. •USC can't handle the fact that Oregon is a better program right now. Despite the on field results. You need to realize Oregon isn't going anywhere. You tried to leave them behind, you tried to block their move to the B1G. Why? It helps save you some travel every year. • Oregon State/ Washington State, you have no relevancy. You are still crying about Oregon, and Washington leaving you behind. Facts are, you got left behind years ago. You just didn't care , because you could always say you were a Pac Ten/Twelve member. Meanwhile, programs with less , did more. Programs like TCU, UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, Utah, and BYU. How come they were able to become attractive to join the Big Twelve, but you weren't?

Go Suck A Fart Notre Dame!
They aren’t the only program opting out of a bowl, the bowl system is completely dysfunctional and has been for years. Would I really want to see us play (and be enthusiastic about it) in the Vegas Bowl with half of our team if we had gone 9-3? It is time for the bowl system to go bye bye imo.

Go Suck A Fart Notre Dame!
I am not a ND fan, but I am ok with the decision. We will see a lot of bowl games (well, I won't because I don't like the glare of empty seats staring at me from my TV) wherein the teams/players just don't care. The three main reasons are money, NIL money and ESPN/FOX/network money. There are way too many bowl games and the playoffs have rusted these other games. Most schools lose money having to purchase x number of tickets which they can't sell and going to El Paso in January to cheer on a barely .500 team just isn't a dream of min.

What? Preseason Top-10 Teams....That Are Not Even in the Playoffs?
How about 30% not in the top 25! I remember the "experts" predicting which top ten team was most likely to be out of the top 25 by season's end, as it always happens to at least one team, and the Ducks led the charge.

Notre Dame, Kansas State, Iowa State Turning Down Bowl Invitations. Big Fines for the Two Big 12 Schools
Notre Dame withdraws from bowl consideration following College Football Playoff snub The 10-2 Fighting Irish were the first team out in the final playoff bracket Iowa State and Kansas State are bowl eligible, but the two schools declined bowl invitations after undergoing coaching changes this week. Now they have both been fined for that decision. On Sunday, the Big 12 Conference announced that it has fined both schools $500,000. “While the Conference acknowledges the difficult timing around coaching changes, the Big 12 is responsible for fulfilling its contractual obligations to its bowl partners,” read a statement from the conference. Iowa State, Kansas State fined $500,000 by Big 12 for declining bowl invitations

Go Suck A Fart Notre Dame!
I believe Marcus Freeman is failing these young men and their decision to "take their ball and go home" I read that "the players agreed" to this. RIGHT HERE is where a good coach, a mentor to these young men, an influence in their lives needs to step up and have a heart-to-heart with these folks. I know the team has a lot of emotions about being left out and that debate can be had. The vast majority of these guys will NOT be playing on Sunday. The seniors on that team have played their last game. Marcus Freeman should have held a team meeting and addressed the emotions of being left out. He then should have told his team that they have one more chance to go to battle with their brothers, to finish this season on a high note as a team and go out together. Things don't always go your way in life. Your response to that is what shapes your character, resiliency, and attitude. This was the PERFECT example for Marcus Freeman to show these young man that adversity doesn't mean you have to quit. I already know the answer to my question, but can ANYONE here see DL letting this happen?

Go Suck A Fart Notre Dame!
Listening to sports radio talk this morning. It is dominated by Notre Dame‘s decision to refuse to participate in any bowl games. Let them pout and stay home. No need to keep giving them airtime. All they had to do was not lose two games on their crappy schedule and they would be in. We have 12 teams that are in. I would rather hear about them than the losers in South Bend. P.s. Sorry for the Title Charles. 🫣🙄 Stolen from Will Ferrell from the movie “ Daddy’s Home.”

Rick Neuheisel and Chip Kelly Are Sniffing Around the WSU HC Job?
I was always a bit surprised Neuheisel never found another coaching stop somewhere after UCLA but, at this point, he has now been gone 14 years and I think turns 65 in February. Jerry is now 33, so maybe he is thinking coach 3-5 years and hope to hand it off to his son? Chip is 62 and must not be ready to get out of the game. I took a look at available sources and it looks like since coming to Oregon, Chip has earned about $82 million. I would hope he only jumps back into college head coaching if he is over whatever that exit at UCLA was. Has that happened? It would be a concern I think in hiring him. 6 colleges had head coaches 64+ this year: Belichick (73), Ferentz (70), Keeler (66), Whittingham (66), Fritz (65), Cignetti (64), and Mora (64); and, 2/6 have been their schools 27 and 22 years. Overall only 11 coaches were 60+. Given those ages and all the recent changes to the college game, as an AD, I don't think I could pull the trigger on either; but, I think both could probably fill some seats. Last year, WSU only averaged about 24,300 in attendance, behind several of its new conference foes (Fresno State 41k, Boise State 37k, Oregon State 36k, Colorado State 33k, San Diego State 25k). I guess after good numbers to start the year, attendance tailed off and ended up lower (about 23,200). I think FCS Montana averaged over 26k a game (so it almost has to be a bit of a concern).

No. 5 Oregon Hosts No. 12 James Madison Univ. at Autzen for First Round
I live in the Harrisonburg area and several of my co-workers are JMU-alum, so it's sure to be an interesting couple of weeks, but I'm here for it! It's been plenty cold and nasty for the better part of the last month, including during their conference championship game Friday night. The weather won't be a factor, but the environment and the Autzen crowd will 100% affect them.
