The U (and you know Who) vs. Kiffin-less Ole Miss
If you're looking for a Peach Bowl to champ game 'tell,' tonight in the NHL, the Ducks play the Hurricanes 😁. Go Anaheim!

CBS On The Transfer Portal
Wow, Limar's exit made the 2nd bulletpoint after Livingstone to OK. Had no idea that he was such a big deal. It is shocking, I guess, that he would do a Kiffin by leaving his team right before a playoff game. But everyone is for himeself nowadays, isn't he?

The U (and you know Who) vs. Kiffin-less Ole Miss
Well, this game matters, so I would expect to see fewer bonehead game-coaching snafus from Mari. But Trinidad Chambliss is going to dazzle again and burn the Miami D. I say Ole Miss will win, by 1 score.

Looking for Ole Miss to snatch a win, by the tips of their fingernails, thanks to a Hurricane of creative, well honed game management skills...

The U (and you know Who) vs. Kiffin-less Ole Miss
Miami's 18-year-old frosh WR Malachi Toney played QB in high school. Malachi is the Old Testament's last prophet. Will the last be first? Miami frosh RB Mark Fletcher, Jr., and Toney were at one time 'commited' to Ohio State.

The Sugar Bowl movie was rated X for UGA and PG for Ole Miss. Next up, a chance for a Pete Golding Fiesta Bowl.

RB Jay Harris Available for Peach Bowl, Per Coach Lanning
Could end up being an audition for a more significant role wherever he lands... Play well enough, and he may even earn a return to OBD, if that is still on the table.

How Oregon Will Defeat Indiana in the ‘Natty Semi-Final
For what it's worth: OBD' are not the same team as they were in October. They played below their standard and made mistakes at the end that cost them the game. Still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. OBD's offense made many mistakes against TT and kept points off the board in the first half. If they do that against IU they may lose. If they execute in all three phases the Ducks win by 13 to 21 points. IU is not a juggernaut. They just don't make too many critical mistakes. Since the 1st quarter of the Whisky game OBD's have scored points in every quarter of every game. Thats pretty darn consistent. Those points came from all 3 phases of the Ducks unit. I don't see IU breaking that streak. Every team and coach in college football knows OBD's can stop any run game. Force IU into 3rd and long and start picking off some desperate throws. MU and TT must hold the edges and contain Mendoza. Dirty up the pocket. Honestly, the Ducks showed IU nothing in October. . ..nothing This is the Duck team that can win the Natty. It is in their hands..... GO DUCKS.....

How Oregon Will Defeat Indiana in the ‘Natty Semi-Final
Kenyon Barner on his podcast said that Coach Lanning was not happy after the James Madison game and “was on everybody’s head” (3:05 below). He let everyone know from the coaches to the players that they did not play up to The Standard. Hopefully Coach Lanning lit a fire under Coach Stein and company’s behind this week and Coach Lupoi and company can continue to dominate on D. We are going to need all engines firing to win the next two games, starting with the one one Friday evening. Go Ducks!!! Just Do It!

RB Jay Harris Available for Peach Bowl, Per Coach Lanning
Harris is a very good pass catcher, so they can use his versatility.

CBS On The Transfer Portal
My post and GW’s podcast was not about Williams or the high profile transfers looking for million dollar NIL deals. Those are the exemptions but are the ones that get all of the media attention. Most of the transfer portal players are looking for a better situation for themselves (e.g., more playing time, an opportunity to prove themselves at a higher level of competition, a change of scenery, somewhere that can develop them better). IIRC, it sounds as though GW’s son was injured and then was passed on the depth chart (by a younger player?). He had a conversation with his coach and is looking for an opportunity to play but it’s been hard because he doesn’t have a lot of game film to show the new potential teams/coaches. We’ve seen examples of players transferring to Oregon to get an opportunity to play at a higher level (Bucky, Tez) and/or increase their draft stock (Gonzo, Bo). It’s not all bad but the system definitely needs an overhaul.

Everytime Kiffen’s move to Louisiana is mentioned, it always brings to mind one of Mike Leach’s memorable quotes: “LSU would be a good place to stand during a lightening storm.”

What's the O/U on Kiffin attending the game? Perhaps accompanied by Demond Williams?

How Oregon Will Defeat Indiana in the ‘Natty Semi-Final
Hythloday at Addicted to Quack, who does not lack confidence, is not infallible. Whatever one thinks of his methodology, he studies a lot of film and provides much information and analysis. Here are two pertinent observations I took from his article today. IU's original defensive ends both suffered season ending injuries. Their replacements, he says "aren’t liabilities but they simply don’t grade out as plus values like the starters at their positions do." IU uses a strict "boundary/field" system in their secondary. Hythloday thinks that one side (field, I think) is not nearly as good as the other. His statistical analysis fits Mike West's argument. They are a good defense, but, relatively speaking, their greatest weakness is yielding explosive passing plays.

Miami is a bit like Oregon--will the great team or the bad team show up? Will Mario burn all his time outs by the middle of the 4th?

While it would be immensely satisfying for the Ducks (after winning tomorrow) to face Mari -uh-oh, I think Ole Miss takes care of business.

How Oregon Will Defeat Indiana in the ‘Natty Semi-Final
I just know the constant post snap movement and pass rush from the IU defense left Dante looking like a deer in the headlights. And IU is still doing it as much as they ever have. So he has to figure that out or it's nearly impossible to win.

How Oregon Will Defeat Indiana in the ‘Natty Semi-Final
Solar, You have some very good takes, and they're always in the back of my mind. You painted out that Moore has trouble reading zone coverage, and I believe that has played out to form in key situations. Indiana uses zone blitzes (weren't you the one that pointed that out?), and Moore needs to "catch em in the act". I found a great YouTube vid that opened my eyes. If Moore see it, he can literally rip the Hoosiers apart. I think Stein saw that the first time, but Dante just missed it. I'm wondering what Indiana changes, and what kind of prep Moore got this week... As usual, in looking forward to your comments about this game.
