Maybe, maybe NOT!!! On that we can all agree. SCO Ducks

I don't see that happening in "this world" as word would get out. I think Dan is fine with anyone, coach or player, seeking what they perceive as a better opportunity.

Leg-Lifter Fan Questions Why Coach Lanning Is Still In Eugene
This article is behind a paywall. A Huskie fan asks; Why is Oregon Coach Dan Lanning rarely mentioned as a candidate for some BIGGER-NAME schools that have lost coaches, such as Penn St., LSU and even Florida? As a Washington season ticket holder of nearly 50 years, it would not bother me to see him go down the road to another school! -Rob M - Jon Wilner answers; Lanning has been clear about his desire to remain in Eugene, both because Oregon offers him the resources to win at the highest level and because his family is happy. In fact, he put his money where his mouth is upon signing a contract extension in 2023 (that has since been amended): The deal includes a massive buyout of $20 million, suggesting Lanning was content with the terms that most schools with vacancies would consider exorbitant. Essentially, he took himself off the market. In exchange, Oregon offered more security and more money, with a deal that was worth roughly 7 million annually at the time but has since been amended (to approximately $11 million). The Ducks have a first rate coach who wants to stay so they moved aggressively to keep him. That said, he's not a forever coach in Eugene. At some point he'll look elsewhere. There are only a few jobs that might lure Lanning away - Georgia is probably atop that list - but if the right NFL franchise has a vacancy in coming years, he could very well be tempted. I certainly enjoy all the misery the loser Huskie fans have for all things Ducks!

Does Oregon Have the BEST Path to a Championship?
West - SoFi, Allegiant Stadium in Vegas, and the renovated Coliseum, with additional remodeling coming before the Olympics. Midwest - Vikings Stadium, Minneapolis, Colts Stadium, Indianapolis, Ford Field, Detroit. But I liked your answer better than mine. 😁

Why on Earth would a departing coach do that?

Does Oregon Have the BEST Path to a Championship?
Where would you have them play in the west? I've been to the Rose Bowl twice. It's an awful place to watch a game because the rake on the stadium seats is too low. You cannot see nearer your seat than the middle of the field regardless of whether the persons in front of you are standing or sitting. Seats are built for the size people were in the 1920's and we're a lot bigger now. Rows are too close together so that a woman passing by you to get to her seat has to rub . . . well, on second thought . . .

Is Dante Leaving For The NFL?
The chances are high for the NFL if the Ducks win the Natty. If not??

Will Washington Embarrass the B1G vs. Boise State at 5:00 PM PST on ABC?
You must be an optimist. I see it as a bad bad game. One of them is going to win, and that's bad.

Is Dante Leaving For The NFL?
Charles, I agree that it is likely that we will not know Dante's 2065 status until OBD finish their run the playoffs. At the same time I believe it is very unlikely that Dan Lanning will not know.

Is Dante Leaving For The NFL?
Problem is....we won't know if Dante is leaving until after the CFB Playoffs, but the portal closes before then and many of the top portal QBs will have already decided. It could put us in a tough spot....

Bear Will Be Back in 2026
I'll bet Poncho made Bear better in practice, and vice-versa.

Will Washington Embarrass the B1G vs. Boise State at 5:00 PM PST on ABC?
This is a "good-or-good" kind of game for me. If the Huskies win? Good for the Big-10, but if Washington loses? Good!

Is Dante Leaving For The NFL?
You're correct ther is no guarantee if success in the NFL. But he can prepare the best he can and that's his decision to make. Has he learned everything he realistically can from college ball or not? I'm not answering the question just posing it. I would like for him to come back for another year personally but I also don't have a day in the matter.

Is Dante Leaving For The NFL?
Can he learn Moore from the new OC? As well as learn more by playing more reps. What does this QB class look like compared to 2027? I have no doubt NIL $ will be there. Not on the scale of a top-flight NFL draft pick, but if he stays, he will not be on a Ramen Noodles diet. 😁

It does seem as though the locations of the playoff games are largely slanted south and east. Why not have more balance between the coasts?

Will Stein Poaches Another Duck Assistant
There might have been an agreement, spoken or unspoken, that Stein and Tosh not take a bunch of assistant coaches and players with them. I don’t recall Lanning doing either when he left Georgia.

Is Dante Leaving For The NFL?
$50 million now is better than the potential for a second contract worth $100M+. Invest wisely and he’ll be set for life. It’s more than most of us will earn over the course of our careers.
-
Is Dante Leaving For The NFL?
There is no guarantee that he’ll have success in the NFL, even if he used all of his eligibility though. As much as I’d like, as a Ducks fan, to see him return next year, $40-50 million is a lot to turn down and potentially risk.

Is Dante Leaving For The NFL?
How many junior QB's get used up by a bad team and then discard to become a backup or never play again. The best things that could happen to him is to fall in the draft to mid first round and sign with a team that has a chance like Bo. A big rookie contact is great but play the long game and the endorsements and contact extensions will payoff big time. Not to mention not getting thrown to the wolves playing for the Raiders or Browns.

Just ask Mariota, Herbert, and Nix. They all came back and they all improved their NFL life.

Is Dante Leaving For The NFL?
I'm sure the NIL will come in and get close enough. The bigger question is that does Dante feel like there is still just to learn and grow from college ball? I think his current NFL evaluation is on his potential. He has a lot of potential. But if he feels like he can develop mentally and in his leadership with another year of college ball then he'll come back. Because if his potential doesn't catch up fast enough for the NFL he'll flame out real fast. Another year of college probably solidifies his NFL career for the long run.

In his first season at ASU, Dilly had it a bit easier than what Will has signed up for: 2 Krispy Kreme cupcakes, Alabama, at A&M, at South Carolina, LSU, at Oklahoma, Vanderbilt, at Tennessee, Florida, at Missouri, and Louisville. Better go hunting for and fill your Stein with, Wild Turkey! 🤪

Players following coaches isn’t an exact science, but doesn’t seem like a mass movement to SEC bottom dwelling Kentucky would be a real thing, be similar to what ASU poached I would think.
