  2. I believe Ol' Buddy Ryan called the Run and Shoot, the "Chuck and Duck."
  3. 🤯. Imagine a 2-deep of: Stewart, McClellan, Moore, Henry, Lott and Bair. Might need to run the 1980s version of the Houston Oilers run and shoot offense. 🤣
  4. Heavens! Moore, Stewart (if he returns) and Henry Jr, along with McClellan, Bair and a host of 4* talent in that WR room next year. With Dante slinging the rock. Wow.

  6. Maybe he should talk to Mark Few about out-of-conference scheduling philosophy?
  7. To go along with what Charles just posted: Oregon surges ahead for 5-star WR Chris Henry Jr. after Brian Hartline's OSU exitMomentum has shifted sharply toward Oregon, with multiple Rivals analysts logging predictions for the Ducks to flip the Five-star Plus+ talent. According to On3, Henry’s growing relationship with coach Dan Lanning, coupled with a strong NIL package, has positioned Oregon at the top entering Thursday. The Ducks, ranked No. 3 nationally, are pushing to pair Henry with fellow five-star Jalen Lott, whose signing is expected once final contract language is settled. Ohio State coach Ryan Day reportedly made a late pitch Wednesday night, selling the fact of the Buckeyes’ nine first-round receiver selections and the program’s development structure. Day also noted Oregon has yet to produce a first-round wideout. Texas made an aggressive NIL offer, but Henry has never visited Austin. USC and West Virginia have also made efforts, but neither are serious. A final decision could come as soon as Thursday. 8. He is in a tough spot. Hard to recruit at his old level in a secondhand conference. However, he should want to challenge his players to know what it will take to get to our level.
  9. Two edge sword, more rust with the extra week off vs one less game with a chance to get key players hurt. Hey Darren "4) Speaking of that, who will be Oregon’s new permanent coordinators?" New "temporary" coordinators, we want ones that eventually be poached.
  10. Which one??? The man or the tiger?
  11. Will Henry and Lott both end up at Oregon?? I like the chances right now.
  12. The 5th seed is a million times better than the 4th seed for us. If we get the 4th seed bye, it will be 4 weeks without a game (one more week than last year) going against a team that had a nice warm up game the week before in a game with a 2-3 touchdown spread playing at home.
  13. The non B1G and SEC teams don't have to worry about losing a play-in and having to rely on getting one of 3 at large berths. This is why 24 is the better answer than 16 once you move to play-in games.
  14. The more you get out of the committee's hands the better off college football will be. Of course they will deny this, but the conspiracy theorist in me says they decide who they want in the CFP then work backwards to justify it. Is ND really better than Miami? They have identical records and nearly indentical SOS, but ND gets the nod despite losing the head to head matchup. This defies logic. The "eye" test is really just a beauty contest based on who the powers that be think would draw more eyeballs. Personally I love the play-in concept for championship weekend. The top 2 conference finishers play each other for the 1-2 seeds, #3 plays #6 for the third seed and #4 plays #5 for the fourth seed. This year's B1G play-in games would be (caveat not sure how the tie-breakers would work): tOSU/Indiana 1-2 seeds. OBD/Iowa #3 seed. USC/Michigan #4 seed. SEC would be: Georgia/Bama 1-2 seeds. Ole Miss/Okiehoma #3 seed. TA&M/Texas #4 seed. Losers could still receive an at-large bid. It's ridiculous that Miami would be left out in favor of JMU and Tulane, but that could very well happen. Not shedding any tears for Mario, but seriously in what world does this make any sense? Maybe not a perfect system and should always be considered a work in progress, but if Bama loses and gets dropped out in favor or Tulane and JMU, the SEC will just blow the whole thing up.
  15. I see a mix from last year to this year. the secondary - would ANY of those guys last year start for them this year - absolutely not this O line better run blocking, last year better pass blocking D line - better last year, Jordan Burch has not been replaced, Derrick Harmon was a stud Linbackers - Betcher is better this year with more experience, the other side mostly about the same QB - I like Dante's throws, but I like Dillon's decision making better Running Backs - this year is far better Receivers and TE - this year is more explosive, but there are injuries, last year Dillon was 'dialed in' with his receivers Overall, I like this year's team better. Higher ceiling almost everywhere except the pass rush. Better run offense, better run defense Better pass defense (worse pass rush, too many PI penalties), spotty pass offense, but can be great at times I don't see this year's team being taken out of a game by a more physical team. That includes everybody. The playoffs are Oregon's to win it, or blow it, depending on what they do. I don't think the Ducks are 'crisp' enough to play enough mistake-free football, unless they somehow can put it all together. I give Oregon a real solid chance to compete for a title. But they are going to need to clean up issues they had all season long.
  16. Yes, it's silly. A "championship game" is something everyone should WANT to play in. If they don't, time to drop the game.

  19. The days of it being a good thing that coaching staffs stayed together, like the majority of oregon's under brooks, bellotti, kelly, and helfrich are long gone. You want climbers at the OC positions, type-A guys who want to be a head coach.
