  2. At this point, it might be a little early to look ahead to 2026! It sure is fun though. DL and staff have a few spots to fill at key positions. For example, linebacker, depth on defensive front 7 and O line. Filling those with portal players or will the 2026 recruits step up. Lots of top level players on the roster and 5 star recruits getting ready for spring ball. How those spots get filled and the team jells will determine 9-3 to 12-0. Also take the time to check out the weak-arsed schedules that PSU and Indiana have next year. A number of BIG teams could finish 11-1. 11-1 will get OBD's an invite as long as they are competitive in the shoe. Perception matters and 10-2 could be borderline for the CFP. The wild card is Dante and his protection. I dont know if Dante has depth perception problems or vision concerns. He misses seeing or throwing to wide open receivers for bird bombs. One miss could be costly. We all know Dante will work hard, grow and improve in 2026. He is still playing with a teenagers body. Dante can easily carry 15 to 20 more pounds as he developes his man body. And hone his skills. His talent and execution will land him in NY for the Heismen. Now all the Ducks need some passion. Bo and Tez had passion. Malik Benson had passion. And DL and his staff need to engrain the killer instinct into the culture. This is a Top 5 program and a top schedule. Who else plays, tosu, psu, michigan, iowa, illinois, usc and washington? Indiana and PSU don't....... Can't wait for the 2026 season because it has all the makings of a Natty.... GO DUCKS.........
  3. That’s football in 2026. Neither of these QBs are guaranteed to even start at Bowling Green or New Mexico, or even backup at a good P4.
  4. Novasad to Bowling Green..Did he get lost on the way to U of Kentucky to see Will Stein? Guess he wasn't that great based on Stein's assessment. It's pretty impressive to see the depth we HAD leave in the portal. I sure hope our 2026 class of portal and HS kids can backfill them.

  6. Was announced today that former Duck Luke Moga has left the portal for a landing spot at New Mexico. 29 Ducks, scholarship or walk-on, entered the portal. All 29 have found landing spots with 23 ending up at Power4 programs. New Mexico has starter Jack Layne expected to return at quarterback. The 2025 season saw New Mexico open with a close loss at Michigan, beat UCLA at the Rose Bowl, and finished their 9-4 season with a close overtime loss to Minnesota in a bowl game. Duck QB Austin Novosad entered the portal and ended up at Bowling Green. Jason Eck, formerly at Idaho, was in his first season at New Mexico. Assisted by O-coordinator Luke Schleusner a long time assistant. As an aside, former Duck staffer David Yost is the O-coordinator at New Mexico State.
  7. Great points as always, Jon. 9.5..... seems soooo far away, the football withdrawals are starting to kick in.
  8. Thanks. Great points. It will be interesting to see how this offseason plays out.
  9. The Duck's eyes look a bit crazed in this ai picture. No way a Photoshop by Oregon itself makes the Duck look that demented.
  10. Hey, added it all up: substance abuse, hearing loss, traumatic brain injury and at age 74 still going strong enough to put it all to bed in, “The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time” AI got it right. Who could possibly be a better fit?
  11. Yep, lunch with the Brady Bunch. I'd love to see OBD in the Raiders' home stadium on 1/25/27. 😍
  12. I'm Moore than happy with PFF's 2026 top 25 - https://www.pff.com/news/college-football-way-too-early-top-25-for-the-2026-season?utm_source=Klaviyo&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=college&_kx=GVhzUOTwm4KFXGxajXe-_3UQSycVDTUwQ95jZfv6GZOFo
  13. PFF's list of the 101 top CFB players in 2025-26. 31 B1G players, Four Ducks - 12. Moore, 17. Thienenam, 32 Pregnon, and 100 Washington. Indiana and Texas Tech both have eight players in the top 101. Of interest for next season, 4 North Texas players are ranked. 39 RB Hawkins, 83 QB Mestemaker, and 85 LB Wesloski are three of the 17 Mean Green players who are following coach Eric Morris to Oklahoma State. OK State will be a far more formidable opponent in 2026. OBD plays the Cowboys in Week 2, after opening against preseason-ranked Boise State in Eugene. OK State opens at Tulsa. The Ducks will be the Cowboys' home opener in an always rowdy T. Boone Pickens Stadium. Here's hoping that the Pickens won't be slim. 😁 https://www.pff.com/news/college-football-pff-101-top-101-players-from-the-2025-season?utm_source=Klaviyo&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=college&_kx=GVhzUOTwm4KFXGxajXe-_3UQSycVDTUwQ95jZfv6GZ
  14. "Forget schemes, let's talk about buttered sausage"
  15. Allow me to say something in Beck's defense. He may have been aware of the safety's presence and thrown the ball earlier than his receiver expected. A film clip of the play available on the internet showed the received running with his head down to the endzone as the ball arrived. If the received had turned to look for the ball, he could have contested the catch with the cornerback who was behind him. Given the situation, Beck made a reasonable decision. He may have underthrown the ball, but an alert received could have competed for the ball. It is to Beck's credit that he did lay blame on his teammate. I do not have a dog in this fight, but Beck has taken more than his share of blame in these parts (Atlanta, Georgia) in the past.
  16. Here’s hoping this comes true. Joel Klatt Believes Oregon Is College Football’s Best Team for 2026 Joel Klatt placed Oregon at No. 1 in his way-too-early Top 25 for 2026. Here’s why he believes the Ducks are ready for a national title run
  17. Who cares? It's one minor league SEC team or the other. No B1G deal. 😁

  19. In South Central, Riley is bringing in former and long-time TCU coach Gary Patterson as the DC. Anton Lynn is off to his alma mater, Penn State, to be Matt Campbell's DC. https://trojanswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/trojans/football/2026/01/23/usc-football-retools-defensive-staff-difficult-2025-season/88302962007/?utm_source=smg-trojanswire-strada&utm_medium=ema
  20. This actually fooled TJ Ward. He was pretty excited until he was told it was fake.
  21. Unless Mehringer can successfully tweak our offense (doubt the offense changes being as though this is Dante final year) I won't have high expectations beyond a sold 2 loss season and playoff appearance. Wisconsin came up with the blueprint to stop it..Ohio St perfected it and now every good defensive team had us avg what? 18 points per game? Smh
  22. Another AI spoof...as it looks official, but there is On3 Sports, but no such thing as No3 Sports.
  23. OK...this is a spoof, but a pretty darn good one! Gotta love AI! (He would actually be a good fit?)
  24. I expect them to win the BIG. Anything more is just gravy. I'm starting to wonder if IT will ever happen on my lifetime. MICHAEL DWYER WAS DOWN!
  25. UGH, I get up usually before three AM. Freudian slip? I meant Ole Miss!
  26. Love the article! The next season will be interesting as there's much more starting depth returning than the previous season. Echoing the obvious, Dante will need to show continued growth in his ability to read defenses and keep his eyes downfield under pressure. He showed steady improvement over the course of this past season so there's no reason to believe he won't. The big question mark on offense (to me) will be the offensive line. Last season it was good (maybe very good at times) but not elite. In particular the OT spots on both sides. Isaiah World and Alex Harkey overall did well but when facing the best DLs they really did struggle to protect Dante...I view them as high floor/low ceiling guys that kept things generally stable and on a winning path during the regular season but when the CFP came TT and Indiana really worked them over. I hope Coach Dan shores up the line better this time around, before anything else on the offense can be considered the OL needs to be addressed first.
  27. There are so many things that are seriously messed up, in football you have these situations, college basketball might be even more ridiculous with players who signed NBA contracts being allowed to not only come back to college basketball but do it mid-year. You have players who are 21/22 with multiple years of pro experience, G-league players being able to join up, it's a mess. I unfortunately think the only way that it will receive any stability in terms of rules and structure is if congress steps in (won't happen, especially in today's environment), or what is more likely is some sort of collective bargaining agreement.
