  2. Uniforms were decided last year. They are already planning next year. It's as much marketing as anything else. Any player coming to Oregon knows all about the cool threads. I can't believe for an instant it's a distraction to anyone, except us fans. It's also very clear you can't please everyone all the time. We are 7-1. Ranked in the top 10, with NO, ZERO top wins. Say what you will, but the PSU win has lost some shine. We are fortunate to be ranked so high. We have 4 games left against solid opponents that will determine not only how good we are, but also our season. And whether we deserve our ranking. I think our offense in the last few games is a reflection on our young QB. I'm not dissing Dante, he is, and will become, a great talent. But reading good defenses at full speed is a real learning curve. Calling out changes to blocking schemes, making his progressions, anticipating receivers open, being patient 1 or 2 seconds longer...it's clear he is still growing and learning. I believe his best is yet to come. And we have 4 more regular season games to prove it. We have been spoiled the last 3 years by superior qb experience. Now we grow with Dante. Let's GO DUCKS! Crush the corn eatin' Hawkeyes!
  3. I love the scenario. But if this were to happen, I'm not sure an 11-1 Ducks would be the 5th or 6th PO seed. We'll see what the PO committee's 'enhanced metrics' come up with on November 4th. SC, Iowa, and UW should be ranked, and 5-2 Nebraska has a win over No. 17 Cincinnati, a loss to No. 21 Michigan, and a bad loss at Wisconsin. No. 25 Memphis has a better resume than Iowa and UW? Even Nebraska? UVA with a season-long tightrope act is No. 15? Interestingly, UVA's loss to NC State was not a conference game, right? 🤪Heck of a 1 point OT win against the Bogus Belichick's. And how about that 2 OT win over FSU, a team that is 0-4 in the ACC. 5 B12 teams ranked? Why? Whether intentional or subliminal, I think Tony Petitti's AQ PO format has led to dumping on the B1G and giving even more love to the SEC, a conference going to nine games next season. Win the Bye!
  4. Radical, outside-the-box uniform choice? I suggest the wolf in sheep’s clothing route at Iowa. Go as Minnesota.
  5. Let’s just make sure to keep this in storage.

  7. Panic is such a strong word choice. Was I expecting us to win it all this year? I thought there was an outside chance, but no, I expected 10-2 and a home playoff win. Are we a top-4 team at the moment? I don’t think so, but we’re on the fringe with a pretty young team that could keep improving. Unless something radical happens, next year we should be one of the top contenders. I still hope we can keep improving and take it all this year, but I certainly wouldn’t wager on it. That being said, anything can happen in a tournament format.
  8. Panic? It is a fair question to ask..... After 8 games, the Ducks are doing a number of things correct and improving in most areas. As a fan, they are fun to watch, then difficult and painful to watch! At times the Duck O is unstoppable. Then the O cant get a first down. Hard to understand....... The D can be dominant, however they let teams run the ball and dont tackle low. Opponents have near perfect score ratio in the red zone. Sadiq and Dak Moore have almost disappeared because the O line gives up too many sacs. Dante needs time for routes to open up. It is not rocket science. The line needs to pass protect as well as they run block. Fix that and OBD's puts up 40 plus points. No need to panic......this Duck fan just lowered my expectations for video game numbers. GO Ducks......
  9. Kenyon is 3rd in (22)receptions, and 2nd in yards (311). Dakorien is 1st in receptions (28), and yards (443). Oregon ranks #9 in passing yards/game. Receptions are really spread out this year amongst receivers, and running backs. I suspect that if he stays healthy, we will need to target Sadiq more often, just based on our competition.
  10. Working as intended. We have a brand that IS now our tradition, no need to try to emulate Iowa imo. I’m actually surprised (but not) this is even still a hot topic for some, it’s been 25 years.
  11. Since we are in if we run the table, I am hoping we make ewe dub a 500 team for their 4th straight loss. Then face (plant) sc to under 500 for their 4th straight loss also and let the Bruins supply the tar to the Duck feathers on Riley.
  12. Jackson Shelstad expected to be available for Players Era Festival opener in Las Vegas Now, per a report from CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein, Shelstad is expected to be available for the Ducks' Players Era Festival opener against Auburn. That game will be played on Nov. 24 in Las Vegas, with several more games being played in that tournament. "We'd like to get (Shelstad) back for a game before Vegas if possible," Oregon head coach Dana Altman said
  13. Oregon Ducks' Biggest Weakness Exposed vs. WisconsinThe No. 6 Oregon Ducks are one of the most consistent teams in college football. The Ducks are entering the bye week 7-1, playing at a high level. As the Ducks push for a College Football Playoff appearance, this weakness could affect their postseason run. The Ducks defense as a whole has been one of the most dominant units, but when broken down, the Ducks struggle in the red zone. Oregon’s defense ranks No. 134 in the country for red zone scoring percentage, which is tied for last in the nation, per ESPN. The defense ranks No. 132 in opponent red zone touchdown percentage. 15. The crazy thing is that we only have ONE loss! We are still in the playoff running. Win out and we're in, it's as simple as that. Also... I would be thrilled with the six seed. It puts us on the opposite side of the bracket from Ohio State and we get a home game at Autzen and a favorable match up in round two. I'd take the six seed over the five seed. I'm not afraid of Ohio State but I don't think we are ready for them at this time and delaying that match up would be best for our post season goals. So much of the anger right now is that Oregon is not winning by enough at times. Sure, we laid an egg against Indiana but its an opportunity to grow. Bama got demolished by Florida State and FSU doesn't look that good anymore so keep that in mind. We are all striving for perfection but perfection will never be attained.
  16. Note - Due to AP voters failing to rank two-loss B1G teams in its last somewhat meaningful poll of the season, this post uses the Massey Computer Ratings. One third of B1G teams are napping in Week 10: No. 18 Iowa, No. 45 Northwestern, No. 6 Oregon, No. 62 UCLA, No. 61 Wisconsin, and No. 19 Washington. One of the preseason's most anticipated B1G games has not come to fruition. No. 1 Ohio State -20.5 vs. No. 33 Penn State - 9 AM Fox Make no mis-state, Franklin's flameout has burned the entire conference. This would have been a football game with over 4 million views. Now? Penn State did show up and compete at Iowa last Saturday. Will it do the same in Columbus? Another B1G question: Will Jim Knowles show up in a Halloween costume? Week 10 features one Big Ten playoff elimination game. The BCS (Battered Coaches Syndrome) Game. No. 31 6-2 Nebraska +6.5 vs. No. 20 5-2 USC - 4:30 NBC What if I were to tell you that Penn State was paying James Franklin 500,000 Franklins to get lost, because in twelve seasons at Penn State, Jimmy was 15-8 vs. Top 25 teams and 4-20 vs. Top 10 teams. And that Nebraska coach, Matt Ruhle, 2-23 against ranked opponents, is one of the leading candidates to replace Franklin. And that this isn't a movie. 😁 Losing to ranked opponents is the Ruhle for this once proud program. The last time the Cornhuskers shucked a ranked opponent happened in 2016, when No. 2 Alabama defeated No. 1 Clemson 🙃to win Saint Nick another Natty. What if I were to tell you that a coach being paid more than $10 million a year by USC is 4-11 against ranked opponents in his time at Troy, and is 1-6 East of the Rockies? 18. I can't get away from the reoccurring disappearance of Kenyon Sadiq. Either our coaches are doing a masterful job of disguising his immense abilities, or opposing coaches are finding ways to nullify his impact on the game. My feeling is, as Kenyon goes, so go our playoff aspirations.
  19. "Facade" is absolutely the wrong term. Perhaps Tom just needs a dictionary. Facade typically indicates deception, fake, etc. Totally the wrong word in this situation. For one to be in panic mode, would require me to recall what my expectations were for this team at the beginning of the season. I expected us to primarily have a rebuilding season. I felt like a two loss season would be a solid one for us this year. Expectations certainly changed overnight after the Penn State win. And then a week later, reality struck. The talent is there, and, while it will be a huge challenge, I think this team is quite capable of winning out the season. Frankly, I still have no idea how good this team is in regards to the playoffs. We played poorly against Indiana and only lost by 10. That gives me some hope that we can compete with the big boys when the time comes. But, at this point, I'm absolutely not convinced of that. I'm concerned that if we do get into the playoffs, that we will potentially have another beatdown like OSU gave us last year. Finally, with all of that being said, this team has a great opportunity to grow up fast over the next several weeks. Here's to hoping that they do.
  20. I love the change of uniforms, and while I agree that black is being overused....to suggest the woes on the field are from an excessive focus on uniforms? That notion is silly to me, and is proof that Dale was hurting for writing topics. Been there!

  23. James had some speed that could get him around the edge faster than the linebackers could fill the gap and he was paired with offensive linemen who were built for speed to seal those edges off to make a lane for him. He was also working in an offense that most defenses didn't know how to effectively defend yet. Now most defenses know how to defend against these outside runs and zone reads better. Wisconsin and Indiana defended the edges well early on and actually had the tackles on their heels. But it was up the gut that Davison found success and forced Wisconsin to adjust by not just recklessly attacking the edges because if they did that then Davison was going to rip off too many yards up the middle. This did open up some runs for Whittington along the edges later in the game. I love LaMichael James and what he did for the program but I'm not sure he would be as effective today as he was back then.
  24. I've seen fans on social media with some pretty hot takes. Most of them revolve around firing our assistant coaches and questioning why certain players are getting or not getting reps. However, a journalist suggesting that uniform color or style degrades or improves performance on the field is a whole new level of delusion. I would love to see Dan Lanning's reaction to a Dale Bliss question about the content of this article.
