  1. Past hour
  2. Oh, you guys are peaking right on schedule. In my opinion (almost said in fact lol), Georgia is playing the best ball out of everyone-including Texas Tech.
  3. The video of Davison needing to be helped to the locker room after the game in what looked like a very bad ankle bumbed me way more than some bad garbage time. ☹️
  4. Today
  5. DL isn't happy. https://247sports.com/college/oregon/article/oregon-football-playoff-win-james-madison-dan-lanning-267388258/
  6. DL took the starters out too early, particularly on defense. The 2nd string performed ok but as soon as the 3rd stringers were put in they struggled hard. He should have left the starters through the end of the 3rd.
  7. Dante threw the best balls and the A&M QB threw the worst. I was very surprised at how physical Miami was. The next round of playoffs should be great. Another observation is now that they are down the final 8, there are 3 northern teams and 5 southern teams. Fans in the south do not like it when northern teams win.
  8. I won't say anything bad about the team, but watching the second half was very difficult as a fan. It was like the person singing the national anthem forgot the words halfway through the song. It was like that bowl game vs TCU when Oregon lost after going up by 31. And they still won!!! Maybe this is the best thing for the team... to lose some focus and get smoked by a team they were blowing out a half hour ago. Maybe this is better than them putting away JMU and thinking they are great and have the playoffs in the bag. This team has been like Jeckel and Hyde in bits and pieces all season long. Which team is going to show up vs. Tech? Did the coordinators getting new jobs have anything to do with it? My take: I think they were mentally getting ready for Christmas stuff at the end of the first half. They thought the game was over, but it wasn't. They were dominating them so hard that they lost respect for their opponent. JMU knew they were not going to win, but they wanted to control the narrative of what kind of a season they wanted to be known for. Those players had a lot of pride. On the extremely positive side - the Ducks put in a defense that pressured the QB. Which was very nice to see. No more letting the QB sit back in the pocket and wait for somebody to get open. But the Ducks still need someone(s) who is an NFL type of pass rusher. And McClellan looked like one of those great USC receivers from the Pete Carroll era - he was unstoppable.
  9. That's exactly what I was going to say.
  10. Maybe a parent trap situation. Kalen went to a pristine academic, and astute aristocratic family, that loves fancy offense. Meanwhile Brent went to a more blue collar, nose to the grindstone country bred school of hard knocks, that loved gritty defense.
  11. I mostly agree with your take. The ball that deflected off Benson’s hands/arm can’t be Moore’s fault. I don’t even think it should count as an INT on Moore’s stat sheet. I agree that the receiver slipped on the 2nd interception; however, that’s because it was such a garbage desperation throw due to the pass rush. All things considered, Moore played an excellent game. I can’t stop watching the two dimes to Benson over and over again.
  12. Effectively, a JV squad put up 500+ yards on our defense.
  13. JMU put up 500+ yards against Oregon. I'm not sure there is a lot to say following that.
  14. Agreed, neither interception was Dante s bad judgement!
  15. I find it amazing how people get angry at the interceptions, and blame it on Dante's "bad judgement," when the replays clearly showed that both receivers slipped and fell down. Moore is responsible for their footing?
  16. Glad to get the win. Was entertaining to watch the offense. Dante Moore threw some absolute dimes to Benson. Dierre Hill hit 23 mph on his TD run. He’s a “Next Gen” weapon. Regarding the defense? Unacceptable to give up that many points to JMU. Dan Lanning’s reaction after the game says it all. Not sure I’ve seen a more somber coach after a playoff win. I know Oregon leans into the FEBU acronym, but there’s another crass acronym: FAFO. Don’t FA against Texas Tech or OBD will FO. I believe Oregon wins, but defense must improve.
  17. I watched the U vs A&M game because I wanted them both to lose. And I was deeply satisfied. This was not a defensive clinic—it was total offensive (in both the literal and figurative sense) ineptitude. 5 missed field goals, which were only taken because no one was close to the end zone. It was a total crap show. Perfect! I was only slightly hoping for Miami because playing the bottom half of the SEC needs to be exposed.
  18. ND, I expect and am hoping that your Dawgs assault and salt Ole Miss's title hopes in the Sugar Bowl. I'm UGA all the way, but we need a format without 1st round byes where Ole Miss QB and RB are dinged up in a game that the top seeds sit out.
  19. Each TD pass to Benson was a thing of beauty.
  20. Over the years I've been trying to train myself to not overreact to either Spring games or garbage time. When advanced stats come out I imagine they will cut everything out as "garbage time" after about 4:22 in the second quarter (34-3).
  21. Dante Moore and Trinidad Chamblis TCB vs. G6 opposition. Next up, Texas Tech and Georgia. The QB play in these two warm-up games, assuming Chambliss will be good to go in the Sugar Bowl, along with the play of their respective teams today, serves as a stepping stone into the P4 PO. A warm-up game home win that helped TOSU last season, while OBD played Bye-Bye. Both teams and their QBs are 1-0 in what they and their fans hope will be a 4-0 postseason. Oklahoma's Mateer stole defeat from the jaws of victory. Bama QB Ty Simpson and the rest of his Tide teammates won a game they could and perhaps should have lost. But Ty is not Joe Namath. Hats off to winning QBs, but I saw nothing to convince me that Ty Simpson will outperform Mendoza in the Rose Bowl or that Trinidad Chambliss will lead his Rebels to a victory over Gunner Stockton and Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. In tough conditions, we witnessed a face plant by both Carson Beck and Marcel Reed. Beck struggled against a defense that gave up 41 points to Notre Dame and 42 points to Arkansas. Will things get better against Ohio State? Ryan Day and Julian Sayin have to be delighted to be playing Miami and not A&M in Dallas. On 1/1/26, we'll see a different and more efficient performance on both sides of the ball in Miami. The defense we saw tonight was a Muhammad Ali rope-a-dope. And there is downtime to figure things out. OBD's OC has other duties, but the O tonight was just fine. DC? Hats off to Tosh for hanging in before going Cal, but Danno knows a bit about D. Dante Moore played better than any 1st round QB. And I believe he will play better than TT QB Behron Morton. Texas Tech is about to play a game against the first Blue Chip Roster team it has played this season. TT lost at ASU, and its best wins are BYU twice and Utah once; OBD has been there, done that. The Red Raiders are a very good team, but on 1/1/26, TT will be playing the best and deepest team it has played this season. MASH McGuire! We've been there, and Nixed TT in Lubbock.
  22. Nice win for Oregon to advance. The Ducks’ track speed on the perimeter was more than JMU could handle in the bump and run defense. The Dukes got away with it all year because they were able to get to the QB before receivers could break away down the field. Tonight, zero sacks and very few hits on the QB so he had time to deliver balls over the top. The defense came into the game as the strong point of the team and tonight they were roasted for 44 points. I was surprised Oregon’s top 10 defense gave up 500 yards and 34 points to JMU. They made JMU play left handed and throw 49 times which is not the strength of JMU’s run based team. That usually results in a train wreck for the Dukes, but tonight it produced 34 points. I don’t know if Big 10 offenses aren’t that dynamic but I expected the Ducks to be more stout on defense. Good luck the rest of the way. Now that you have eliminated James Madison, I hope Oregon wins it all. The offense is certainly good enough. The defense will need to play much better to be a title team.
  23. They really do resemble each other on the sideline don't they?
  24. I have to say I don't know. I am as mystified as you are but they always seem to have excellent receivers to take up any slack.
  25. Tosh Lupio: "It doesn't matter who's out there, one standard. Really disappointing finish. Difficult to enjoy and relish" the win."
  26. It’s hard to get a good read because the level of competition varies so wildly from week to week. Dante looks like the best pure passer in the game at times, but then makes some really bad decisions. Too many still.
