Urgent: Dan Lanning Needs to Protect Dante Moore
As much as it annoys us to see HCs whining and throwing tantrums like a spoiled child, it is indeed one of the jobs of the HC to make sure the refs know it when they blew a call, even if they can't get it changed. Why? Because of 2 things: Pointing out recurring borderline behaviors by the other team that are giving them an advantage so the ref start calling them (lik Cig did with the D PIs) Make up calls are a thing even though no ref would ever admit to that publicly. Perhaps the no call push off TD Surrat got late in the game was the makeup call for him getting mugged earlier that killed a drive.

NIL Toppled SEC Dominance
Can we stop referring to the teams that won anything before the playoffs as "national champion?" All they won were "voter" beauty contests! Have we seen any of those teams make four or 12 team playoffs? They are the just miss America of college football. Washington did make the last four team and now Miami in the 12 team. Even now, with the "committe" chosing who should and should not be included is not ideal but it is definitely better than the old system! Josh Pate is better with his "computer" method of picking teams to be included--sans his bias for the SEC. This definitely would have proved which league was better since it would have had mostly B1G and SEC teams included with the Lame Os and Miami included. No more beauty queens! Let's GO Ducks!!

(Former) UW QB Demond Williams Entered the Transfer Portal
Here's an update from On3. Within the last week, Williams renegotiated his NIL deal at an estimated $4 million for one season. Williams, who is an adult for contractual purposes in Washington, not "a kid," signed an agreement he is trying to back out of. Shame on him. Shame on his agent. And shame on Kiffen and Cristobal if they are indeed the ones trying to poach Williams away from UW. I see no grey area whatsoever here, and I'm happy the conference is supporting Washington as it is supporting Wisconsin against Miami. On3Demond Williams transfer: New information emerges on Wash....

Oregon Ducks Receive Rough Transfer News After Jordan Davison Injury
I've been keeping my eye on the roster online, and as soon as a player hits the portal, they're removed from the roster. Limar & Hughes are both gone. Jay Harris is still on there, but I also read within the last hour that he's officially in the portal now, so it'll be interesting to see if his name still remains on the roster and if he stays with the team. This whole thing is crazy so it's probably useless trying to make sense of anything prior to kickoff Friday. In Dan we trust!

(Former) UW QB Demond Williams Entered the Transfer Portal
Lots of assumptions with only a few facts in this thread. Hard to disregard Williams’ missing the memorial for a teammate, but I will. Just suppose he wanted to renegotiate his NIL, and was denied. So his agent said: “Enter the portal and see what kind of offers we can get for bargaining stock.”

Oregon Ducks Receive Rough Transfer News After Jordan Davison Injury
I think we have enough in the run & screen game to implement an AR offense. AI-No, you don't needa traditional, heavy running game for an Air Raid offense, as it's primarily pass-focused, but a complementary, simple run game (like inside zone, counters) and effective screens are crucial for balance, keeping defenses honest, and creating opportunities for receivers by stressing defenders horizontally and vertically, turning quick passes into effective "runs". The goal is to use minimal run plays, practiced efficiently, to complement the passing game, not replace it, with RPOs and QB runs also adding elements.

Urgent: Dan Lanning Needs to Protect Dante Moore
For this Mariners fan growing up in the 90s it was sweet Lou Piniella. One thing I love about baseball are the blowups by the managers, it isn't something that should actually be celebrated since it's awful behavior letting an adult act like a 3 year old having a tantrum, but all the great ejections are legendary, from kicking caps, drawing lines on the dirt, to literally stealing first base like Lloyd McClendon did. For what the article was about, it is definitely something to consider, Indiana has been one of the least penalized teams, but if they start pushing off or hitting the QB late, it's something that Lanning should be in the ear of the officials about.

Correction regarding PO payouts, which are paid to a qualifying team's conference (and directly to Notre Dame 🤮). $4 million for making the field $4 million for teams in the quarterfinals, including teams with byes. $6 million for the semifinals $6 million for the championship game - no additional money to the champion's conference. Note - under the ACC's settlement with Clemson and FSU, Miami will keep the bulk of the PO money. 'Eat what you kill,' postseason revenue distributions to teams, not conferences, will likely be the norm under the next round of media deals. The Big Ten is first up with a new media deal that will be negotiated in 2029 and implemented in 2030. Note: Beginning next season, PO payments will be determined by teams in the field and not by how far teams advance. Beginning in 2026-27, and based upon prior postseason participation, PO revenues per conference are estimated to be $23 million for the SEC, $21M for the B1G, $13.5M for the ACC, $12.5M for the B12, and $2M for the G6. This revised payout formula is another reason why Tony Petitti wants an expanded field with automatic qualifiers, and Greg Sankey wants teams determined by a committee. Under Sankey's plan, this season, Texas and Vanderbilt would have been in a 16-team field, giving the SEC seven teams total and the B1G three. The last two postseason game results indicate that the PO Committee is overratting SEC teams and underratting Big Ten teams. Come January 23rd, we'll see if the B1G and the SEC have reached an expanded PO format agreement or if the field will remain at 12 teams. Under new media deals, media revenue, as is the case in the ACC, will also likely be distributed based on 'Eyes on the Prize,' how many people are watching the broadcast of a team's games. Ohio State and Michigan want this so ... Danno, keep on baking that bread. 🤑

(Former) UW QB Demond Williams Entered the Transfer Portal
This has really gotten me worked up, part of it is the greed by the player, another is the underhanded nature of the program contacting Williams knowing that he has signed a contract, the fact that there are no rules at all against this sort of behavior, this then relates to the stupidity that is involved with the schedule of the playoffs and the portal. It is just so emblematic of all the problems with college sports right now. I really hope that Oregon isn't the program that enticed Williams (I don't think we are). It would make me lose a lot of respect for Lanning. No rules, everyone out for themselves, no loyalty, lying to the fans about how you love them and loved their support, "I have to do what is best for myself," no, you are just selfish and don't care one lick about anyone else but yourself, that goes for coaches as well that do this sort of baloney. All of this has trickled down to youth sports where you have adults manipulating leagues so that you get all the best kids on the same team, club sports are awful, high schools where you have kids transferring 4 times in 4 years. All of this is such a bad example of how we should live our lives as a community. I always thought that European sports were missing out on how great high school and college sports could be, but maybe they have it right by having high level youth sports operated by professional clubs, though knowing quite a bit about European football they have their own set of problems with regards to youth and young players. Depressing.
