Let's Discuss 'Non-Oregon' Games Over Sept. 26-27!
Wow! Dilly’s kids tie it up with less than 2 minutes to go then strips the TCU QB of the ball on the next possession. Less than 90 seconds left and they’re inside the 5 yard line to try and win the game. Crazy!

Let's Discuss 'Non-Oregon' Games Over Sept. 26-27!
Spoiler Alert - Don't look if you are taping FSU at UVA. 35 to 35 + headed to OT! Late 4th Q drive by FSU to tie it up. UVA lost a close game at NC State. A much-improved Cavaliers team. Disclosure - I'm rooting for UVA to upset FSU and for the Seminoles to defeat Miami next Saturday. This game is being played on the same field where UVA ended Bobby Bowden's years-long undefeated streak in the ACC. I'm also rooting for the ACC champ to finish 10-3, the champ being the only ACC team in the field, and Bill Belichick's girlfriend to leave him for lack of scoring. 😁 Virginia Wins!

Prediction Contest of Oregon vs. Penn State: Join Us!
Penn State 24-13 0 turnovers 1 sack 240 passing yards I hope I'm dead wrong, but 2 weeks to prepare and a must win situation for Penn St. They shorten the game and play mistake free. Oregon plays solid but makes a few mistakes (e.g. untimely turnovers or drive killing penalties) in a tough environment. Tough learning opportunity for a young team. Now I'm depressed already.

Cool! Did You Notice This About Our Civil War Helmet?
My favorite element was the US Army officer bar on the back of the helmet representing Major Bill Bowerman's heroic service in the 10th Mountain Division in Italy WWII

Whoa! Is Our Beloved Ducks Better Than What WE THINK?
I expected to see the betting line move from OBD +3.5 closer to +7.5 throughout the week. It hasn't budged. Given Beaver Stadium and Whiteout, 3.5 points indicates most think this baby is a toss-up on a neutral field. If this game were in Autzen, I think the Ducks could beat a 7.5 point spread. So, can our young guns handle the environment? All of the pressure is on PSU..... Bye week before the game to prepare. Home Field Advantage. Whiteout. If PSU loses, the narratives get ugly for Franklin. If the Ducks lose and stay close, we come out with head held high and live for another day. Franklin puckers in big games, Dan is a riverboat gambler. I think we start a little slow, adjust and take control at the start of the 4th quarter. Ducks run out the clock to preserve a 5 point win. Special teams will play a role. Thieneman balls out.

Stopping the Penn State Run Game
In listening to some podcasts this week, Allar's stats don't blow people away. He's usually a 200-yard per game guy with few throws over 20 yds. I think Thieneman has a big day in the box both run support and disrupting short crossing routes. Make Allar beat us...if he does, he's the Heisman frontrunner and you tip your hat to him.

Stopping the Penn State Run Game
I have faith that Dan and Tosh are focusing heavily on shutting down the run this week. The will come up with a game plan to sour the Penn State bread and butter run game and for Drew to try to beat us with his arm.

Stopping the Penn State Run Game
I really think this is the entire game. We will score some points, I don't think we'll score like we did in the Championship game, but we'll score enough to win. It will be if we can hold the PSU run game to under 175 yards or so. The closer we've come to game time the more optimistic I've gotten. Allar is just not a great QB, he's fine, but I believe our secondary is better than last year, and I don't think Penn St. has upgraded enough at the WR positions to overcome losing Warren in the pass game. I also have become more positive over generating a pass rush with Tuioti and Matayo U. I am a little worried that our scheme is not designed well to counter the heavy rush approach of Penn St. We very rarely focus on the run, the Mint scheme is more about holding in check the passing game than it is loading the box and stopping heavy rushing attacks, our lines will need to buck up and set the edge well. Reading this week it seems Penn St. is rushing more to the outside which would mirror what they did to us in the Championship game, can our edges hold up is the question?
