Online stormy sea, teeming with barracuda, sharks and a fair share of torpedos! Humor is always a good way to sheath the sharp teeth! Keep up the great posts Dp22

The Beavers will pound the dawgs, with #4 leading the way. The mutts will not be able to slow down the rodent running game, and will limp back home with their tails between their hind legs.

UO 42, Stanford 28, 3 TO, 2 sacks, 210 yards passing. Go Ducks!

Rob Mullens: Athletic Director of the Year
PittDuck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
The emerging dominance of Oregon team sports left them with almost no other choice. Consecutive PAC-12 Champs in MFB and MBB, defending champs in WBB, highly ranked in men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor Track & Field, cross country, Women’s Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, Acrobatics & Tumbling. Coaching staffs that promote an exceptional student/athlete experience while energetically recruiting the best up and coming athletes. Mullens has assembled a “fairly decent” team of coaches! What a time to be a Duck fan! GO DUCKS!!! -
Q There is definitely too much going on for one guy to keep up with, even the venerable FishDuck! With any luck, we will soon see a new #1 later this week... I got to watch Duck wins yesterday in A&T, softball, and baseball! ‘Twas a good day!

Quite the show put on yesterday by the Duck A&T team! Two perfect scores and some awesome performances. Eugene OR is rapidly becoming home to the title contenders! What a time to be a Duck fan! Here is hoping for a couple of deep runs into March Madness! Go Ducks!

It's not said often enough...Thank You Charles!

I absolutely echo the sentiment! The FishDuck site just keeps getting better and better. With great foresight, much passion and an insane amount of work, Charles has created a haven for Ducks to flock to. It is a safe place to share your thoughts and concerns about our Mighty Ducks and know that even if other fans disagree, you can learn and grow, without being attacked for your opinion. That is something entirely too rare on today’s internet, on for that Mr. FishDuck, we thank you and applaud your tenacity! Well done sir, well done indeed! -
Oregon Football: The Curious Case of Tyler Shough
PittDuck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
This just reminds me in so many ways of the time when Darron Thomas left before his senior year. He didn’t have the transfer portal available back then, so he chose to declare for the NFL. Eithe way, the supposed front runner left because he saw he would not be able to beat out an uber-talented newcomer. (MM then ?? now) While I wish TS all the best in his future, I think this bodes well for the Ducks at the QB position. Whoever gets the starting job will have effectively beat out one of the top 3 QBs in the PAC12 for 2020. -
Good for Tyler, and I wish home great success. I do have to wonder if he did it because he thought he might drop to 3rd in the OR QB room...

Top Heavy: Do we WANT Recruiting Balance in the Pac-12?
PittDuck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
1FD makes a very good point, often when a DC or OC goes, one or more seriously talented kids go with them. Not the case in Eugene. I think the next man up mantra goes through and through. The Oregon Brand is drawing the best and brightest to usher in a bright new era of Duck football. -
A couple of homers? I gotta go OR, OR, OR, Eugene as well David. I personally think the Ducks have the 3 of the 5 best hats in all of college football!
-
I alway want beavers to do well (other than the during game with no name). as a 4th generation Oregonian, I like the Beavs second best in the state.

More than a little truth there AnotherOD!

Wasn’t that a fun game to watch David? The lightning yellow is still seared into my mind!

Ok FishDuck fans: here is the situation. It is the 4th quarter, 1:58 left in the game. Your mighty Ducks are down by 4, 32-28 to the team from the north that shall not be named. It is 1st and 10 at the 25, with 75 yards to go. You are the Head Coach. For the sake of argument, your O-line is Penei Sewell at LT, Shane Lemieux at LG. Max Unger at C, Kyle Long at RG, and Jake Fisher at RG. Your TE is Ed Dickson, and at WR you have Josh Huff and Devon Allen. Your RBs are Royce Freeman and DeAnthony Thomas. At QB, you have your choice of the following starting Oregon Quarterbacks since the 2000 season. You can choose from Joey Harrington, Jason Fife, Kellen Clemens, Dennis Dixon, Jeremiah Masoli, Darron Thomas, Marcus Mariota, Vernon Adams, or Justin Herbert. All these guys are at their peak collegiate form. You have a virtual plethora of leadership talent at your fingertips! Who ya gonna call, and why? Hint, it doesn’t matter, cause with that offense, you will not be denied! For me, I am gonna bring out #8, Marcus Mariota. My reasoning is that the 2014 Heisman Trophy winner had a QB rating of 181.7 his final year, connecting on 304 out of 445 attempts for 4,454 yards, 42 TDS with only 4 Interceptions. While Justin Herbert had a better NFL rookie season than MM, I think that is more about the team than the player. Captain Comeback was given his moniker for a reason, as was Big Play VA. FishDuck commenters, I am very much looking forward to your responses to this post. This site is graced by some of the most knowledgeable fans I have ever heard or read, and I look forward to your thoughts! Thanks again Mr. FishDuck, for creating this Duck haven (or is that Duck heaven) for us to play in!

I keep wondering (I’ll leave it to the learned contributors of this forum to educate me) what JM has done in the past? Not only is he OC, he is the QB coach. Does he lean toward giving the future QB some playing time, or will he play the best he’s got for 4 Qtrs? He seemed willing to change things up late this year for sure. Either way, with the talent and leadership in the QB room, coupled with a new and talented DC coaching up some of the most talented group of defensive players we’ve ever had, Duck fans have a lot to look forward to! Go Ducks!

Tell-me, Tell me: Fiesta Bowl Game Thread
PittDuck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It is pretty hard to win a game where you do not convert 3rd downs, and turn the ball over 5 times. 2 muffed kicks, 2 fumbles and an int.) One team came to play. The other team came to execute plays. -
A New Defensive Era has Arrived at Oregon
PittDuck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Thanks David, for a good and thought provoking article. I agree that a strong D can keep a mediocre O in a game. I am probably in the minority of fans, but I strongly believe that for the most part, College sports are played by kids, and in my experience, kids can be counted on to make mistakes. It is a huge part of growing up. For fans to expect perfection out of these kids, I think, is asking way too much. That said, the thing that corrects these mistakes is experience. We know the 2020 edition of the Football Ducks is one of (if not the) youngest teams in the nation. They are gaining experience and they are learning to trust each other to do their jobs. In this $#!%show of a Covid crippled season, I believe our boys are getting better, and learning to communicate with and trust each other. I think AA will have the D on point, and they will do their jobs in the Fiesta Bowl. They need to limit the ground game while disrupting the passing game. I think the Ducks can keep the Cyclones under 30 points. It will be up to MC to let JM do his job and score more than 32 points for the win.
