  1. I too, am amazed at the levels of upset when the Ducks lose. I too, remember the feeling of a “winning season” where we actually won MORE games than we lost! If the football gods smile on us today the flavor of the posts next week will be sweet, how great it will be to be a Duck. We will pontificate the astuteness of the coaching, the athleticism of our young men, and the prowess of the referees. If the football gods smile on Utah, the timbre of the posts will be bitter. Never mind that we finished 9-3 and went to a (mid-level) bowl game. We will decry the ineptitude of the coaches, the bumbling of the players and the blindness of the refs. I personally will miss any coaches who chose to leave, and appreciate the one who stay. Win, lose or draw, I plan to watch the bowl game and root for the Ducks all the way. I will follow that by rooting for MBB, WBB, Baseball, Softball, Track & Field, Golf teams. May the football gods smile on our Ducks today, may the ball bounce on our direction. Let our boys be swift of foot and sure of hand. Let all the months of training result in crisp blocking, sure tackling, open pass routes, accurate throws and yards after contact. Go Ducks!
  2. Per MC! I certainly hope Our Ducks come out and play to their potential tomorrow The debacle at Rice Eccles field was a case of the Ducks playing their worst football of the year on the same day the Utes had their best day. It shouldn’t happen again.
  3. Dr. Jack you absolutely friggin nailed it! All Oregon coaches are supported in ways that few if any can match. From the world-class and cutting edge facilities to the extraordinary student athlete support structure, most coaches simply don’t get that level of support from the Universities.
  4. Oregon 21- Utah 17, 1 turnover, 1 sack. 225 yards in the air, 250 yards on the ground. I hope. Go Ducks!
  5. My thought exactly, thanks Jon. I could easily go a lifetime without having to watch pistol plunge, pistol plunge, incomplete pass, punt.
  6. Asked about a possible rematch with the Ducks following Utah’s dominating victory on 11/20, wide receiver Brian Covey was blunt. ”I think that we probably angered them,” he said. “If we see them in a couple weeks, we know that we’ll be seeing a different team on a different field … A team that wants vengeance.” “We’re going to be prepared when that time comes.” With the uncertainty surrounding Oregon coaching “opportunities” versus the stability of Utah coaching, will our Ducks be ready to play to their potential? We will know on Friday! Go Ducks!
  7. Thanks Grandpa Duck! I had to search to find it, but we’ll worth the time to listen!
  8. But are we really a top 10 team?https://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/2021/11/oregon-ducks-back-in-top-10-of-polls-after-beating-oregon-state.html
  9. Would coug and faceplant have been better terms?
  10. I happen to agree with that statement GODUCKS15. And with latracey and 30Duck. What makes me scratch my head is how many fans were calling for his head after the Stanford loss, the tight games against the Bears and Bruins, or the stumble in Utah?
  11. Every time they line up for 2, I kept thinking af Helfrich vs Nebraska
  12. Interesting MM was the better college QB, but JH is the better pro QB (so far). I guess it really is about what team picks you…
  13. Wow, the big N is doing everything it can to give this one to Iowa! Will Frosty snatch defeat from the jaws of Victory?
  14. Ducks 38, Beavs 34, 3TO, 3 sacks, 225 yards passing, go Ducks!
  15. Nobody wants to watch the dawgs! My favorite line? “ and, on top of it all, a bad football team.” Bwa ha ha haw!
  16. In Altman I have trusted since 2010. He seems to always get his players to peak by March. I am more than content to let him coach this team up. I think Dana can and will turn this group around in time for a tourney run in March. I also believe in Altman, Graves, and Cristobal. All three put a respectable team in the game. They may not win every game, but what coach does? They alway finish at or near the top of the PAC. I personally cannot recall a three-year period where 3 different Duck teams ended their seasons ranked as high as MFB, MBB, and WBB have been in the last 3 years.
  17. Well that can only help next year!
  18. Now THAT would be a fun game to watch!
  19. Charles, thank you again for your tireless dedication to providing a safe place where we fans of OBD can come to learn new and timely information about the Duck teams we love. We can share our thoughts, hopes, frustrations, and even anguish with each other or we can simply read about the thoughts, hopes, frustrations and anguish of our fellow fans. We may not always agree (what family does?) but we are united in our fondness for OBD! It is my fondest hope to all readers of this forum that each of you and yours have a safe, happy and healthy Thanksgiving weekend, punctuated by a thorough stomping of little brother! Go Ducks!!!
  20. I think between 10 and 15 is where the Ducks belong. We were never the 3rd or 4th best team in the land. We were deluding ourselves if we really thought we were!
  21. Or to put it another way, “Mr. Cristobal’s system came far closer to gaining the conference 6 million and getting his team into the playoffs than did any other coach in the conference.”
  22. I agree Charles that most are not thinking that. But there are a vocal few that seem to be saying precisely that they want him gone. With that kind of attitude/thinking, Rich Brooks not Mile Bellotti would never have gotten Oregon to a Rose Bowl. It is too easy to forget that this is a game. Played by kids. On any given day, Murphy’s law can and will rear its ugly head. Often times, the best team does not win. IMHO, it just seems way too early to be calling for MC’s head.
  23. I’m pretty sure there are at least 9 in the PAC 12 and well over 2/3 of existing coaches nationwide that coach worse than MC.
  24. I have to confess, I have had doubts about the Ducks beating the Beavs since I watched the Beavs run the University of Spoiled Children into the ground. I am not feeling any better now after watching what Utah (who lost to the Beavers) did to us last night. The Ducks are going to have to shake off last night and play to their potential in order to win this next game,
