  1. Had me laughing, in a locker room kind of way. A Civil War at home, just like our competition with the Huskies, Beavers (my wife went her freshman year and considers herself a semi-aquatic rodent)whom hates the ducks. Yet my oldest sister by ten years, whom she loves dearly, and I have been fans since I was ten. Falling in love with the under dogs, the David to Goliath's and eventually those Ducks that had success at the NFL level. She has often been a guest of a season ticket holder to the ladies softball, basketball, track teams and football games. Using her talents at photography during sporting events. I on the other hand enjoy listening to radio and watching from afar. I shut the TV off when they are behind. Too much stress at times. I yearn for competition, against the elites! It feels so fulfilling to watch as our younger, less heralded players find the inner strength to RISE to the competition. Make Oregon appear to be on the same level as, if not Higher than, the level as the perennial contenders, or blue bloods. For when you beat the best, you become better than the Best, even if only for a moment. Fuskie no mo.
  2. VDBTRD, You think the Ducks have found who they are, now? I will be more confident when I see Oregon plays consistent beyond just the W's. Oregon's to lose though. Winning bad, does not guarantee a spot in the CFP. Winning strong will. I could be wrong but the CFP Committee choosing Michigan over Michigan State, tells me, looks matter.
  3. Im not just talking about how the player got Clipped boarded. The players, staff, line judge was not even seen by the coach. That is blind rage. Supposed to be better than that, just sayn.
  4. Hope I can make this work. This screen shot shows you a better, longer view of why I posted above, You may have to search by @tonyp_80 to view on twitter but it will show Lake crashing through players, staff and knocking the line judge off.
  5. The Pants in Old school Yellow, would have looked great, IMHO, just sayn.
  6. When you see the video of him plowing through, And I do mean PLOWING, the crowd of players, coaches and refs, It just looks bad. How do you regain the trust of coaches, players, staff, fans and the public? The stress of coaching, his own undoing, wow.
  7. It is very simple. Coaches and recruits came to Oregon, for just this chance. To win a National Championship. Now, it is the coaching and execution of plans by the players to see to that end. You wanted it, now go earn it
  8. DurangoJim, I would beg to differ. The facts are, Justin Herbert was the NFL Rookie of the Year for the 2020-21 season. I will not list all of the accomplishments but suffice it to say, Justin Herbert did a better job of representing Oregon, than Oregon did for Justin Herbert. Look at all that he has done since entering the NFL. Compare that to the way he was portrayed, pre-draft. The negative assessments from the media and talking heads had people believing he was a waste of a first round, let alone a top ten pick. Oregon is responsible for that perception. The discussion as I saw it, was about college coaching, specifically Oregon, failing to realize or capitalize on athletes talent, Herbert's in this case. And that is why I wrote that comment. So please forgive me if I seem to be a rube. I kind of am. I took the liberty of splicing some quotes together but included the original article in whole. The San Diego Chargers released Coach Anthony Lynn, due in part to "A lack of commitment to consistent, winning football and showed a propensity for bad on-the-field decision-making that did not make sense for a coach of his caliber" https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/why-the-chargers-fired-anthony-lynn/ar-BB1ctvgF. With Oregon in the driver seat of the playoffs could this happen to Cristobal should he take a stumble. And would it be deserving? I know of his recruiting successes but his coaching and in game acumen is questionable. Never enough separation in games to get younger athletes in game reps to develop experience and build confidence.
  9. He played in a system that limited the plays called. So you took an elite QB and tied his throwing hand behind his back. Simple as that. For what ever reason, you did not let him reach his potential. Which in hind sight, probably worked out for him. His game is better than that of Burrow, Tagovailoa and his team upgraded, hopefully, the coaching. Now I just hope that he has as long and good of a career as Dan Fouts. Stay strong and healthy Herbert.
  10. I would take the ugliest winning National Championship Title. It would be a First for the Nation, a first for Oregon, Uncle Phil and Penny. And Nikes new slogan could be "It doesn't have to be pretty as long as you Just Do It!" Anthony Brown could be the face of Oregon and Nike PRIDE. Perseverance. Respect. Innovation. Determination. Effort. I'm bored and drinking now. Ever feel if you picked the right Pitch, Nike would send you a Come Work Here for BEER telegram, I'm waiting in line. jk But I am serious about how this season is working out and the crazy stuff that has been happening. Let us hope that we ride this wave to the NCG and can give the Knights a lil bit of glory. They surely have lifted Oregon to new heights, proud to have them as a big part of OREGON.
  11. Washington, you have an idiot for a coach. There is a video, showing Lake, crashing through a group of players, coach and referees to smack that student in the face several times. Not a good look for the coach, or the team. I understand trying to breaking up a fight but you can not justify this behavior.
  12. DanLduck, Sir, you hurt my feelings. I thought that last one through a lot of rewrites and deletes, No drinking was involved. I swear. Sorry but I had to google premise. I could not really understand what you were trying to say what you disagreed with, wholey. But thank you for the feedback. As I too, love the Oregon Ducks. I respect Cristobal but not the way he has empowered everyone and no one at the same time. Kind of like the team. Everyone has a say, everyone is a Coach, Assistant to the Coach, a Co-co coordinator, the Running backs coach/run Coordinator, The Pass the buck back Coordinator and we may even have a Sideline stop the Coach Coordinator, which is Feld, when they are on the field. Again, not drink but probably should be. This is probably my fourth rewrite, not because I was wanting to drink but meh.... I hope you are right but I just threw away two hours of research and googling info to back up my premises and I thought, WELL he didn't even come up with anything serious to rebut, I looked it up, my previous premise. So we are at a impasse. Which I clearly looked up before posting. And I am getting tired, ready to drink, I think. But DanLduck, I look forward to more refreshing dialogue with you, about our wonderful Ducks. And I hope the next time I post, I will be so clear as to have you agreeing with me wholly. As I would not want it any other way. Thank you again.
  13. Pac 12 feels like the Mosh Pit, Thunderdome, get in there and hope you come out with some teeth. At the beginning of the year, I would have thought ASU, USC, UCLA as the strength of the South. The North led by Oregon, Washington or Washington State. The Covid year, did not allow for any real growth. Really could not tell if coaches and systems clicked with the teams or players. But honestly, I could not tell if Arroyo ever really left. That, in my mind is a Cristobal problem. I do not expect Moorhead to be here next year with all the openings already. Could his health be an issue to taking on the HC reins? I absolutely believe that if his health is dependent on less stress, he stays at Oregon. If not, he will elect to set his own path some where else. Ultimately, Mario needs to find some style he becomes better at as time goes along. That has not happened and not for the last four plus years in my opinion. That is NOT to say he is not a good to great recruiter. He is and expects his coaches to be also. But the football side of recruiting is not panning out as well as it should. You have to do something with the near talent and elite talent that are jumping on board. Progress to the next level and stability at the current level. This is not the NFL factories as is Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia or LSU. This is a step above Oklahoma, Texas, USC, Michigan, Penn State and FSU. These team have recruited well and I bet over the last decade been in the top 25 maybe, the top 15. Please do not look at where FSU is now. It is sad and we had something to do with their current spiral because of the 2015 Rose Bowl playoff for the CFP. I am not a Jimbo Fisher fan, to me he is Sumlin 2.0. And I bring this up as Sumlin and Fisher are two posers whom in JF's case won a championship and Mario reminds me of him. Everything is just falling into place, the Stars have aligned and the GOD's are speaking. No I have not been drinking or taking drugs but sure feels like it when I watch Oregon play. Jeckle and Hyde of the PAC 12. But we need to put our players into positions where they can and will excel drawing NFL attention. That NFL teams will pick through the talent we have because of Cristobal, his staff and how we elevate the talent. Until then, Mario has things to get better at, then build his coaching tree.
  14. Young athletes have ego's, Mycah is one of the up and comers of the team. His freshman season, much was expected of him before he broke his arm/wrist. Much has changed since then. Coaching change, Covid, short 2020 season, Quarterbacks, no longer a primary target and Sophomore slump? Not all his fault, some on the QB's, not getting the ball to receivers and in stride. An athlete of his caliber feels the frustration of not being a part of the team, not getting his touches. There is a bigger picture too. Things that will make him better moving forward for us and towards the NFL. This is his third year, a growing year. Very possible, he was looking to go early to the draft. Hopefully, it all gets figured out but do not single him out. Growing young man, does not need to be blasted for a poor mistake. A lot of pressure when your team is on the bubble of the CFP and those little mistakes can knock you out. Let us just hope CMC can keep the coaches and players focused to continue this run as long as they may. And just maybe, we will see our Ducks in the Championship game, finally getting the Monkey off our backs. Is it possible, ask the Ohio State.
  15. Duck 1972, Oregon's last scoring drive at Stanford went for 80 yds, took 2 minutes and 11 seconds putting Oregon up by 7 points. Oregon's last possession took 5 minutes and 27 seconds off the clock and ended with a punt to Stanford's 13, leaving only a minute and 59 seconds left in the game. Stanford had already burned two time outs during Oregon's last possession. The penalties hurt Oregon but not as much as Oregon hurt themselves playing soft in the middle. Oregon helped Stanford by taking a time out with 41 seconds on the clock and Stanford at Oregon's 32 yard line. Would Oregon have won, had Cristobal not taken that time out and just letting them play? I believe so, the pressure was on them to get it all right. And if it was on us at the change of possession, they should have been prepared and advised their defensive leaders. Oregon is not supposed to help them. But I do get what you said about the time and the refs. But Oregon has shown to do this often and for the last four years. But He is a great recruiter.
  16. We should have never lost to Stanford. That game was ours and if not for some COACHING decisions, we should have just won. We gave Stanford the win by not trying to lose, poor calls and time outs. Take responsibility for it Coach and move on. Plan better and quit being your own WORST enemy.
  17. Ohio State put the points on teams they should have after losing to Oregon. We make teams look better than they are, that is a fact. If Oregon, had played up to their abilities, the ranking would have reflected that. Otherwise, we are not playing to our talent level and coaching potential. Like many other teams that are no longer ranked.
  18. WOW! That GIF, had me shocked and then laughing. I would NEVER want someone to go through that physical pain. In fact, I have dedicated my life to preventing that, as did my father before me. But the reality of it is, in life those moments define how we adjust and overcome the impact of being thrown from the horse, into the wall, over the wall to get laid out on the ground. Hopefully not trampled to death before help arrives and removes us to safety.
  19. Thanks for Oregon Sports update Charles. Oregon is not just known for Football, Track (Men and Women), Basketball (Men and Women) sports programs but other sports too, school. I am happy to see that Coach Lombardi has the softball team looking strong after going 22-2 in the Covid-19 canceled 2020 and 7-0 to start the 2021 season. Go Ducks go.
  20. I had to laugh at this, as I too, get to typing so fast, my mind does not catch what my fingers have typed "get" instead of finishing it off properly with "getting". The Daffy Duck in all of us with him the best too. Dang spill check.
  21. Is this not the place where Mahomes collegiate career launched his NFL career? Best of Luck to you Tyler. I hope you have great success at get your masters from Tt and have a chance at the NFL. Go Duck go.
  22. Tate Martell, comes to mind, was he not a 5 star or very high 4 star? Has he not transferred twice already? He was a verbal commit, at 14 years old, to Steve Sarkisan at the U of Washington. Signed with the Ohio State, transferred to Miami and now to UNLV? I would like to think we have a better option, that buys Ty Thompson some time to get smarter, faster and stronger before being thrown into the fray. But we shall see.
  23. Texas, is not easy on coaches. High Expectations and not a lot of time to prove ones self. Mack Brown went 158 wins to 48 losses over 15 years. He set the bar but Texas thought he got too comfortable? Charlie Strong went 16 wins to 21 losses over 3 years, having the #7, #12 and #20 recruiting classes. Tom Herman went 23 wins to 13 losses over 4 years, having the #25, #3, #3, and #8 recruiting classes. Now Steve Sarkisian will be expected to . . . . in year one, having landed the #17 recruiting class. With the talent from 2018 and 2019 #3 classes and the 2020 #8 class, he should have enough experience to help him get off the ground running in the 2021 season. One would think, I hope for his sake. Coaching under Saban the last two years and his short stint back in 2016, does not mean he has learned how to deal with the pressure. Texas gets real hot if you don't win the big games or are not part of the big discussion of the four team playoff. I think that Lane Kiffin would have been a better choice, he put together a nice record at FAU before taking the University of Mississippi job. Problem is that Lane probably goes back to USC if Helton does not get it together, this year. Hope he pays attention to signs of being left on the bus at the airport. If he learned anything from Saban, put in writing a NO ONE LEFT BEHIND clause in your contract.
