  1. Political on HERE, Really? Chip had "WTD"! What The Duck? Sorry, that was supposed to be Win The Day. Slick Willie had "Doing Something, Just not here." Mario had "Top 10 Recruiting, what more do you want?" The next hire will be "Better here than PDX" or something like that. Too much? Smart azz need not apply. At what price is Oregon willing to pay its next Head Coach?
  2. I think when you look at Kiffin, you have to remind yourself, it is not just the winning. It is how you win, how you represent Oregon. Chip was a pretty good coach with a great scheme, needing some elite talent. Lache Seastrunk, was not a great addition to the U of O for many reasons. Those things count when we talk about bringing a coach to Oregon. Oregon is building some fantastic things, tarnishing those things for a guy of his character, is not one of them, IMHO. Kiffin is working in his environment, where those things are well, normal.
  3. I just remember him as the Head Coach and his guy Winston, we flattened in 2015 Playoff at the Rose Bowl. Who later ran off to AtM which saved us from the Free Willie Show. Thank you Jimbo, twice! What a good guy.
  4. Well, if you remember, there is some serious hair treatment with Collin. That is right Collin, I remember you on the local news sports channel before you had hair! But I still get a kick out of him.
  5. Is this not the back story of why Shough Left. AB's private instructor mentioned to Mario about other choices or what ever. Seems like a tune we heard before. With parents involved, too? I was not a fan of Mycah doing what he did. I do realize his age and the thinking they go through this day and age. Me thinks there will be talk about digging a hole too deep and he needed a new place for a not so deep hole. Hope it is not true.
  6. This right here, why would I want to prevent someone from making more money, being happy where they are at, asking their families to sacrifice so much while they barely see their loved ones. Husbands, wives away from their significant others for long periods of time. Trying to Coach, Parent the family through ups and downs, kids trying to fit in, at another school, town. The highs and lows felt when things are good and bad, games won or lost. I get it. And you are right, I can't blame them. Top ten classes, are Do Able. Mario Proved that, at what cost? Maybe, the move to Miami, was to put Him closer to home and recruiting, some adjustments so the sacrifices were not so harsh on his family. He is learning. Good for him. But ANYONE who coaches here, best never use that as an excuse. Frosty! I would like to believe, it can be done, without our coaches, never seeing their families, not being able to coach those that they recruited. That some balance of talent and coaching, Chip and Helf, has been achieved. That Oregon can put it all together, here, in the near future, to bring a National Championship to Oregon and show, IT CAN BE DONE! Thank you for the soap boxes.
  7. Charles, We have had discussions before, I get why and I agree. And Yes, Alcohol is NOT an excuse for such behavior. But I will be honest right now. Loyalty, character, honor(one's word), HAS to mean something. Not just Coach speak, "Do as I say, Not as I Do". I do not expect you to jump in front of an on coming car. If you are the coach or coaches at Oregon, I expect you set the example, give them the resources and allow them to grow and succeed to the best of your abilities. At the end of your season, if you need to make a change, Fine. We have all been there where we had to move on. Coach Cristobal, good luck in your future endeavors, thank you for taking a chance on Oregon. To your wife and family, it is a BIG sacrifice thank you so much. And to all the other coaches and staff as their families are often forgotten, they too are impacted. I wish you all the best moving forward, not easy having to always have your bags packed with kids. Finally, there is a cost to jobs like this, investment of your time, efforts, choices you make and judgement on the successes or failures you have. It is personal, sadly, you have to evaluate and make the necessary changes moving forward. Grow from the mistakes, make changes that positively impact you, find the right fits. I hope Oregon finds the Person to lead our young men, to success On and Off the field. Thank you Charles for being the forever Optimist in people being kind to each other and not making it personal.
  8. I think it is like the Waiver Wire. I like that we have options now.
  9. He knew how to work the crowd, when Slick left. You say enough, do enough to make yourself seem legit. Something wrong with his abilities to lead or control, give it some years at the U. Better to have left us now, than left us paying his buyout and losing more years going to the Alamo Bowl with all this Talent, Coaches and New Facilities. We are nearing Disneyland proportions with all that is being invested at U of O and the Duck. In negotiations with Daisy Duck, right now, if you believe this. . . .Mt St Helens roller coaster, it will blow your mind. The Oregon Trail Town. Escape from Antifa Thugs World. Mask the Covid Movie. Portland Bridges to Nowhere ride. Lots of plans for new and interesting rides, I think. Lane Kiffin, are you for real, pass that bottle.
  10. Sad dayz ahead, sad. To even THINK about the Kiffin who literally killed AL DAVIS. Had a loyalty issue with Tennessee. Likes being left at the Tarmac at USC. Gets some ass chewing with ole Nick Saban at Alabama. Runs to FAU for some Group Care. To land the Ole Miss Job and say he found GOD. But Chip, Helf and Frosty, No way No how. My feelings are hurt and I have wasted a lot of alcohol then. You all know how to ruin a EZ bender. Pffft.
  11. Trust me, this is a blessing in disguise, just like when Willie Left. In four years, this offense has been MIA, the defense this year MIA. Get us a Coach and then watch Ducks Fly.
  12. I hear you David, not the strength of that bunch but you can not argue with the records. But with Mario having done it for three years straight, there is NO Denying it can be done. But what you have not said is that both Chip and Helf got Oregon to the NCG with coached up talent and the occasional high four and five star players. Had Oregon played in 2020, a Covid Free year, would Mario have been lucky enough to even be the PAC-12 Champ. I think it would have shown, nothing changed with Arroyo moving on and MC needed to change. My point was, three guys who could put together an offense that operates at warp speed. With tempo, can make on the fly adjustment to take advantage of teams with less depth. Defenses have come a long way to meeting the speed of the Blur but not the options those guys implemented. Nick Saban, has the weapons to make that system effective with his coaching hires of Kiffen and Sark who have both moved on to HC at good schools. But the one thing that has been clear, as far as I see, is that often his talent is depleted to the Draft every couple years. If I look at how Shough played in his first several games in 2020, there are issues right away. One being a new OC and system. Two Shough does not look comfortable making the reads pre snap or through progressions, hesitates, slow to run and decision making. This is understandable, New Coach, New System but then throw in COVID and no contact, no practice just a terrible situation for all. Then after the season, he Portals??????? That tells me, something happened with the coaching. Why do I say that, AB so inconsistent but left in the games. No attempt to get scores up, so that back ups can get playing time, experience. Example, 2021 Championship game Utah, QB back ups on the bench, while AB still in a game we are losing by 28 points. There is NO excuse for that and MC quit on our team right there. Even with the defense still fighting, Mario should be ashamed. I am calling it now, Mario will be known as "Slick Willie 2 at The U".
  13. I am just going to throw it out there, cause I have been right but wrong then right again, I got nothing to lose. And the alcohol is a great, "Dude, what was I thinking", excuse. I believe it is Chipserendipity, Chip is coming to the end of his contract at UCLA. Helf has been in coaching retirement, since the Bears Boot. And last but certainly least, Scott Frost, has a one year, reduced pay, all the pressure you can eat tenure at Nebraska. So bring in the Three Amigo's and build Duck's Dynasty 2.0. And with all that they have learned from being away, for so long, ROBO Duck could be a THING!
  14. That may have been a blessing in disguise for Tanner. Three back up QB's sitting on the bench watching a 6 year senior practice in a game, with two coaches with their feet out the door. I would hope, that Oregon tries to hold onto Feld for strength and conditioning, some continuity is important, like old Jim Radcliffe. Anyone know, if Oregon is allowed the support staff, analyst's, scouts, recruiting evaluators for talent(not sure what you would call em) that are part of the Program rather than the coaching staff? It would seem to me that those types of positions, could do the leg work, to make available info regarding recruits stats, health and nutritional issues, athlete orientations, consultations and assistance with NLI? With out violating recruiting or other restrictions. Like maybe how the compliance staff works? Or equipment staff. Seems to me that they have been there for several of the former coaches.
  15. Taggart was an admin pick after Helf. Sometimes you just got to test the waters. For a job and money, people may tell you anything you want to hear. Track record, is what you have to pay attention to. After a couple years, do they invest in the community, buy a house, get along with the locals or are they renting with the wife still living in the old digs? Was that not Leavitt's wife, lived elsewhere, kids finishing school or what ever?
  16. Uhm, can you say, Sarcasm. Had me laughing.
  17. That is the Get Out from Cristobal Free Card, just in case stuff goes bat crazy, you dump Mario and Diaz Rebecomes the HC. Only in Floriduh.
  18. I hope, that Mullens, sees that some times, you just have to cut bait. The lines are tangled, you have an expensive lure with gear that is hard to let go. But fighting to save it, is time lost doing the work of fishing. We have done BETTER with less, let me tell you. I for one, have been happier with less, because it won. Not by the skin of the teeth but by the beating of tush that people LOVED to watch that which was a blur. BRING BACK THE BLUR! Bartender, another round prease.
  19. He sure made his going out party a blast. I really wish him well, something. But I get being close to home, family is important. Well, somewhere there is a bottle of Vodka, with my straw in it, so Thanks for the memories Jo, best wishes as you transition to your next stop. Once a Duck. . . . now a Zip, best wishes.
  20. Mark Helfrich with Frost was able to dial up winning combinations to defeat defenses, same looks different variations. Remember FSU Rose Bowl to meet Ohio St in First CFPNCG. This job requires letting your Coordinators, Plan and execute, making in game adjustments. I believe, that Helfrich as OC could take Oregon Talent and find a cure for what ails us. Adjusting, in game, to defenses posture. Do not allow how a person was unable to perform a job, define their ability to be a good coach. Maybe not as a Head Coach. Not everyone can be a Chief. "Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end, Mario." "Change, of OC, is the essential process of all existence." And I think he may have added "Do I have to do a Vulcan Mind Meld on your ass too" - Spock to Mario. I may have translated or taken liberties with some of the fictitious parts. There was much too much consumption of alcohol as the wheels fell off. And through my drunken stupor I may have had an out of body experience where Captain Kirk said " Our species, Ducks, can only survive if we have obstacles to overcome. You remove those obstacles. Without them and Aaron Feld to strengthen us, we will weaken and die." Go Ducks, Do Not Weaken and Die, Nanu-Nanu!
  21. Man, still having issues putting in pictures and gifs, I need a Charles Fisher editing coarse, wish I had paid more attention in school. sigh
  22. Will he be speaking English or have some out of body experience we will need to have explained to us?
  23. I am SO SURPRISED, that even with choosing uniforms, that Oregon, does not pick a uniform that helps with identifying your team mates, as in receivers from the opposing defense. Any thing that helps reduce the time it takes for a QB to identify, friend from foe. That should ALWAYs be considered. You want your QB to make quick decisions, not using up valuable time assessing were open players are. Worse yet, is not believing in your back up QB's to change the momentum, when you felt the game was over already. Hmmm coach, esplain that to me???? If I was a good QB, why would I pick to come to Oregon. We ready for the excuses next year, "he's young, inexperienced, thrown into the mix, has no real reps, game experience". Love me Herbie but he sure laid it out for Cristobal, something wrong in Ducksville, No Dr Pepper!
