  1. Alex, thanks for the article on Evan Stewart. I noticed you did not include Jurrion Dickey in your returning talent list. I hope to see great progress from Jurrion this year. I'm curious if you or other FishDuck members expect significant contributions from him this year?
  2. Since OBD is very successful with the current NIL model I would hate to see the NCAA getting involved. The national legislation does not seem like an improvement. Having a NCAA governing body oversee contracts of $600 or more seems ridiculous. I would find it interesting to know the amount of money Oregon players are receiving in NIL money but I do not feel it is my right to know.
  3. Not surprising since it is associated with ESPN.
  4. Chiefs 25-22 0 Turnovers 1 sack 242 passing yards
  5. NBC may have had the first choice and chose OBD. Below is a John Wilner article explaining the network selection process for Big 10 games. https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/uw-husky-football/heres-how-the-big-tens-in-season-tv-football-selection-process-works/
  6. The main thing I want to see is a victory. Starting 3-0 is the priority for me. If it is another ugly win, I can live with it. That being said, it is time for OBD to start looking like the team everyone thought we would see this season. Offensively, I would like to see successful deep passes along with a dominate run game. That would mean that the offensive line is improving. Unless the plan is to redshirt him, I would like to see Jay Harris get some carries. Defensively, we need to hold the Beavers to 10 points or less and shutdown their run game. Force multiple turnovers. Reduce penalties and no turnovers.
  7. Anywhere between 6-10 seems appropriate to me. Rankings have never solely relied on game day performances. Voters have always looked at overall talent on a team and projected their belief in that talent improving during the season. Programs in the SEC have benefitted from this approach in the past. I have no problem with OBD currently getting a benefit that has been earned over the past 30 years.
  8. Thank you for sharing the roster. I just printed it and will use today.
  9. I am curious. Is this equivalent to a thumbs down emoji? Many times in the past few months I have wanted to either type Yawn or show a GIF of someone yawning. I decided not to do this because I felt it went against the spirit of the FishDuck rules.
  10. David, I am enjoying the discussion. Thanks for your original post and your other responses. I found some information that the NCAA added a 30 day window for transfers starting when a coach leaves a program. See links below. https://ncaaorg.s3.amazonaws.com/eligibility/transfers/D1_TransferRulesQuickTipsCoaches.pdf https://www.si.com/fannation/college/cfb-hq/ncaa-football/alabama-football-nick-saban-retirement-transfer-portal-player-rules
  11. I hate the Huskies as much as anyone but I believe the difference between what happened at each school this week had more to do with the coaches at each school than one school being a destination and the other a steeping stone. Oregon is a destination school for Coach Lanning because he chose to make it his destination school. Lanning is building a program that can win a national title because of his recruiting ability and the support he receives from his family and the University of Oregon. A different coach might still see Oregon as a stepping stone. Just like DeBoer saw UW as a stepping stone. Fortunately OBD hired the right person this time. Thank you Coach Lanning for making Oregon your destination school.
  12. 'Even if a power conference head coach were to leave their school for the Huskies they couldn't bring their roster with them yet because the portal window is closed. They'll have to wait till spring.' I thought the ability to enter the portal opened up once a coach leaves a program. Husky players are entering the portal now due to DeBoer leaving for Alabama. This would make the Husky job more attractive to a current power 5 coach vs not being able to bring players from their old team.
  13. This site lists Autzen as the 13 biggest stadium in the new B1G. Ranking Big Ten football stadiums by capacity starting in 2024 NITTANYLIONSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Ranking Big Ten football stadiums by capacity following its 2024 expansion with USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington.
  14. My worst nightmare is Lanning leaving and going to Alabama or anywhere else.
  15. Lanning is being mentioned as a possible replacement in the Tuscaloosa news. Alabama football coaching search: 4 candidates to replace Nick Saban WWW.TUSCALOOSANEWS.COM Who will replace Nick Saban? Here are some early Alabama candidates for next Crimson Tide football coach.
  16. No! For some strange reason you chose to do it.
  17. Thank you Michigan. 34-13. Thanks for sending the huskies home with a big loss.
  18. Not rooting for either team. Strongly rooting against the Huskies.
  19. Wow, Surprised UW run defense was so bad on the opening drive. Michigan up 7-0. GO Michigan, destroy those darn Huskies
  20. I think you are probably kidding. But, No, it would not be great. I am enjoying this years MBB team very much and I am looking forward to them reaching the Big Dance. We seem to have a special group of players that are playing very well together. I will not hope for mediocracy just to keep money from the PAC2.
  21. I was giving examples of other heated rivalries were they do not relish in the success of their hated rival. I am disappointed so many Oregon fans can find joy in watching the Huskies have so much success. I agree that east coast bias is real. Washington winning a national championship will not change east coast bias. Washington winning a national championship will have an immediate negative impact on Oregon's ability to recruit against the Huskies. A Washington National Championship will bring bragging rights for many many years to the Huskies. I am not willing to cheer for Washington Husky success to try and piggy back on their success. I want Oregon to be the best team on the west coast and in the nation. I am willing to wait for OBD to earn a national championship on their own. In my opinion Washington success does not help Oregon attain their goals. There is no way of knowing, if Oregon would have made the four team playoff this year with a win in the Pac12 Championship game. It's fine to state an opinion but it is not a fact. Oregon could have absolutely made the playoffs, if they had finally beaten the huskies in the PAC12 Championship game. If OBD had been kept out the playoffs, pro SEC bias not anti west coast bias would have been the reason. ESPN and pro SEC bias is the reason FSU was kept out of the playoffs and it why Penix did not win the Heisman. ESPN controls the SEC bias and Washington winning on Monday night will not change it. The move to the B1G greatly reduces the chance of west coast bias keeping the west coast teams out of the expanded playoffs. We are now part of the two chosen conferences. We do not need a Washington National Championship for Oregon to achieve their goals. Thus, why in the heck would any duck fan want to see their hated rival win a national championship? GO DUCKS, Go Michigan
  22. OBD football use to be worse than what OSU and WSU are currently. I have been a Duck fan long enough, 50+ years, that I can remember opening up the local newspaper and seeing OBD being in the Bottom 10 rankings along with Oregon State every week. My State of Oregon pride would cause me to root for any win by Oregon or Oregon State. I have entered Autzen Stadium to see both endzones covered in purple. It was sickening to see that much purple inside Autzen and their disrespect towards Oregon made it even worse. I was at the Seattle Bowl and witnessed Husky fans confronting the Ngata family prior to the opening kick off. Yes, husky fans paid for tickets just to be able to talk crap to Duck fans. During the great Jody Runge era the Husky coach couldn't beat the Ducks on the court so she falsely accused Duck fans of spitting on her throughout the game. These are some of the reasons I will never hope for Husky success. Some Duck fans are willing to forgive and forget but not me. GO DUCKS, Go Michigan
  23. Obviously, you are free to root for any team you like. But, I completely disagree with your theory that Washington success helps Oregon. The east coast people do not equate Washington wins to mean Oregon is good. They do not spend any energy or time thinking about such things. Thus, the only thing that helps Oregon is for Oregon to beat Washington, Ohio State and Michigan. Our ability to be the best program in the west and nation is not helped by having the Huskies win a national title. Do you not realize that winning a national title makes Washington the best team on the west coast and the nation. This is exactly what OBD is striving to accomplish. I will not root for the Huskies to accomplish our goals just because some duck fans feel better if we loose to the eventual national champions. My dislike of the Huskies did not occur overnight. The Huskies have earned my dislike of them over the past five decades of their arrogance towards all things Oregon. Maybe you and other duck fans can ignore the arrogance and hatred that the majority of Washington fans have for Oregon but I cannot. I will be cheering for Michigan to destroy that hated team from the north. Do you think Auburn fans cheer for an Alabama national title? Will Ohio State be cheering for Michigan? Did South Carolina fans feel like the football world gave them credit when Clemson won their national titles? I am a Duck fan that refuses to live vicariously thru the success of the Washington Husky football program. GO DUCKS and on Monday night Go Michigan!
