Now that is something my fingers could never type. 🙂

Well...THAT Changed My Saturday!
Still watching the games today. Not with the same interest. Now I'm hoping all the undefeated teams win. Four undefeated teams in the playoffs would be very interesting. I'm very curious what bowl we play in and who we play. Alabama, Texas, Ohio State, FSU would all be great opponents. Fortunately we have a coach like Dan Lanning, who has given us a team/program worthy of playing for conference championships and in NY6 bowl games.

GameDay Thread versus Washington in Pac-12 Championship: Join Us!
Great drive to end the half. We scored and left no time for Washington. Now we just need to score on the opening drive of the 2nd half. To go from down 20-3 to 20-17 before Penix can even get back on the field would be a huge momentum swing.

Cam Ward Hits The Transfer Portal
Very frustrating that a site that is suppose to be pro Duck would even mistakenly post something like this. It seems like the writers would have better things to do today. Don't they realize the biggest game of the year is about to kick off in a few hours? The above statement didn't seem like an apology just asking for understanding. Sorry but this Duck fan does not understand. The Ducks do not need this type of distraction today. Being the first to report should not come before accuracy. Even if accurate wouldn't a pro Duck site hold off until after the game? GO DUCKS. Beat the huskies

The Pac-2 is Ruse, a Sham That Makes NO SENSE
I would argue that the Pac-2 is not a ruse, it is not a sham and it makes perfect sense for OSU and WSU. They are following the NCAA rules which allow them to keep the conference alive for two years. The Mountain West TV contract expires in 2026. I hope they use the two years wisely and keep the conference alive. If Oregon had been left behind we would be doing the same thing. https://www.si.com/college/2023/11/19/oregon-state-washington-state-ncaa-confirmation-pac-2-plan-report

The Pac-2 is Ruse, a Sham That Makes NO SENSE
It does not look like the Pac2 would receive an automatic spot in the playoffs. This is a long article but it does a good job of explaining the possibilities for the Pac2. How a new 'alliance' proposal involving Washington State, Oregon State could impact College Football Playoff SPORTS.YAHOO.COM For OSU and WSU, the clock is ticking in a variety of ways. But there may be a lifeline on the table.

Would You Take Shough Back?
Oregon should look at portal QB's but Shough should not be one of them. His injury history would be my biggest concern. Cam Ward would be a good fit but he would need to be a graduate transfer since he already transferred to WSU. Like some others have stated, I will put my trust in Dan Lanning and the other coaches to do what is needed.

Canzano: Oregon and Oregon State Plotting to Keep Civil War Alive in 2024
I think Oregon did what they had to do when we left for the Big10 conference. Now OSU and WSU are doing what they need to do to have the best chance of surviving the beak up of the PAC-12. The ten schools that left are doing what they need to do to get as much money as possible from the PAC-12. I do not blame either side for looking out for their best interest. The courts will decide how much money each school will receive and neither side will get everything that they want. As a native Oregonian and lifelong Duck fan, I hope the Civil War football game continues to be played every year. The Civil War is good for the State of Oregon. I am glad that both the men's and women's basketball teams plan on playing each year. I am positive that the baseball, softball and volleyball teams will continue as well.

NEW: Four Football Coaches On Their Second Round of Interviews With MSU
Jedd Fisch may not be interested in the Michigan State job but with the financial issues at Arizona a raise may not be possible. A pretty good reason to look for a new employer. Coach Dan Lanning Named Among Leading Candidate for Texas A&M Job
Should Oregon wait until the end of the season? I would like to see Oregon open talks now. Lanning is a top 10 type coach. If we want to keep him it is time to pay him top 10 money. This would send a message to recruits and all of college football that Dan Lanning will be the coach at Oregon for a very long time.

Coach Dan Lanning Named Among Leading Candidate for Texas A&M Job
Another reason no one is mentioning Smart and Sabin is because they are the two highest paid coaches in college football. Both are over $10 million a year. Lanning is 21st at $6.6 million this year. The only way for Oregon to stop the yearly rumors is to offer Lanning an 8-10 year contract at $10 million a year. This is the type of contract that the top 10 coaches are getting. If that is too much money for Oregon then we will need to get use to this yearly annoyance.

Coach Dan Lanning Named Among Leading Candidate for Texas A&M Job
I think Lanning will stay but we will need to increase his salary to make that happen. Texas A&M will pay a crazy amount of money for the right candidate. If Lanning is their main target, we will have to pay him $10 million a year and a long term contract to keep Lanning in Eugene.

What a Weekend Coming Up!
Besides Oregon and Cal, the game that has my attention is Washington at USC. Since both teams cannot get a loss I will hope for a Washington loss. I believe Oregon will make the playoffs as long as we win out. It should not matter who we play in the conference championship game. My first priority is for Oregon to make the playoffs. My second priority is for Washington to not make the playoffs. Thus, I hope Washington gets a loss today and a second loss to Utah or OSU. A USC win today will make next week a much bigger game and hopefully a much better kick off time on FOX. I do not want to take a chance of having a 7:30pm kick off next Saturday.

Washington vs Arizona St
I understand your reasoning that it would be best for our playoff hopes to beat an undefeated Husky team in the Pac-12 title game. If we end up playing them for the title I will enjoy the opportunity to get revenge. My hatred for the Huskies has me wishing for them to get 2-3 losses and we play a different team for the title. If we end up 12-1 and Pac-12 champs I think we will be in the playoffs regardless of who we beat in the title game.
-
Washington vs Arizona St
I must disagree. Oregon does not need UW to win. Oregon just needs to win our remaining games. I will be very happy if the Huskies get beat tonight.

It Was All Mental, Cam..,
The 49ers kicker, Moody missed a 41 yard field goal that would have been a game winner. Even NFL kickers miss from 40 plus when the game is on the line.

I Will Have to Re-Think Things About This Team...
I'm glad we gave him the extension. Today's loss and last year's losses to UW and OSU are frustrating but I believe he is the right coach for us. Without the extension we would loose him to someone else. I would love to go undefeated and win a national championship but even with today's outcome I truly enjoyed watching the game. I've seen to many programs striving for the National championship give up on a good coach to only fall into 10 years of crappy football. When we suffered thru the Helfrich final years it was not a guarantee that we would get back to this caliber of football. While I will complain about him for making poor coaching choices, I am happy that Oregon made sure Dan Lanning will be our coach for many more years.

It Was All Mental, Cam..,
The way Penix throws with accuracy those 50/50 throws seem more like 90/10 throws. Hopefully we see them again in Las Vegas.
-
It Was All Mental, Cam..,
The field goal at the end of the game was just one of many plays during the game that Oregon was unable to execute on. Multiple coaching decisions did not help. The decision to not attempt two easy field goals, especially at the end of the first half. Poor play calling on 3rd and 4th down on the last drive. Deciding not to punt deep on the last drive even though the defense had been playing well in the 2nd half. It would be easy to say that if Oregon had blocked better on 3rd and 2 we would have gotten a first down and ran out the clock. Once given the unfortunate task to stop Washington on a short field the defense was unable to make the needed plays. These are some of the reasons, I will not blame Cam for the loss. Yes, he could have made the kick but any number of players on offense and defense could have executed better on their last chances and then Cam would not even be put in that situation. Coach Lanning can also learn that when you are gift wrapped unexpected points at the end of the first half you better dam well take them. I like this site because individual players are not usually called out like this. I'm disappointed to see it happening to Cam.

Lee Corso May Have Already Leaked His Headgear Pick
Thanks for posting. Even with him picking Washington, this type of football talk is enjoyable to watch. Lee makes the show. Gameday needs more of this and less of that previous NFL punter. Hopefully we host Gameday against USC and Lee gets another opportunity to put on the Duck headgear.
