  1. Defense got a good stop. Now the offense needs to shake off the cobwebs and execute.
  2. Defense is resuming their old bad habit of not getting off the field on 3rd down.
  3. Nice blitz and sack by Kyhree!
  4. Defense is a step slow right now.
  5. Since there's a little time before the Oregon game I fixed this up. I used a labradoodle instead of a mini-poodle because it's even more comical....like the USC defense. Quoting Charles, I never said I was noble...
  6. If that game were 2 minutes longer USC might have lost.
  7. There were already signs before the game that USC's defense had not improved significantly in any way since last season. Oregon rag-dolled Colorado like a Doberman on a pork chop last Saturday. Based on what I'm seeing so far, USC's defense is less Doberman and more mini-poodle.
  8. Oregon 49-14 2 TO 5 Sacks 285 passing yds It'll be over by halftime and Stanford will get a 2nd touchdown during garbage time.
  9. I'm late to the party but I was going to pick the Biebers. The injuries are finally taking a toll on Utah, especially with no Cam Rising. DJU is looking competent. Not great but good enough right now.
  10. That's my gut feeling as well. Given the depth of talent in the roster a true freshman coming into Fall camp instead of Spring is already behind the curve. But a kid with his talent should catch up pretty quickly, we might see him in the 2nd half of the season during garbage time.
  11. Think DL's style can be boiled all the way down to one thing: hardcore proactivity. He's proactive on everything when it comes to improving the team, he doesn't wait for a solution he goes out and finds one. It's been really fun to watch him doing his thing so far.
  12. I'd say those two things actually feed each other. The defensive line getting better penetration into the pocket reduces the amount of time Shedeur had to throw the ball, allowing the secondary to not be stuck for long period of time chasing receivers. Conversely by covering the receivers well the secondary is giving the defensive line time to collapse the pocket and force Shedeur into making a bad decision (for instance, holding onto the ball too long). Those two things will ebb and flow over the course of the game and results in a good defensive balance.
  13. My gut tells me that the Fuskies are a step better on offense but OBD are two steps better on defense which will be the difference maker.
  14. Same. But with Mario around, no QB had any chance of flourishing at Oregon.
  15. I know right?? The guest commentator is correct in that the CFP committee must have a unanimous vote to change the structure of the CFP from 6 automatic bids (5 power 5 champs + 1 G5 champ) + 6 automatic qualifiers to something with 5 automatic bids to reduce the number of power conference champions....so staying in the P12 right now is the way to go for OSU/WSU. If they figure out the right merger with the Mountain West, the Beavs and Cougs have a huge opportunity to get into the CFP by railroading G5 competition next season.
  16. The fact that this is even a minor possibility does explain in part why OSU/WSU has taken the Pac12 to court.
  17. Man that kid is just snakebit, I hope he recovers well. I look at him as a Justin Herbert-lite, similar traits/qualities (though not on Justin's level). He's got the potential to make it onto an NFL roster if he stays healthy.
  18. Of particular note that I was discussing with Charles was the vastly improved play by the secondary (in particular Khyree Jackson). They covered the Colorado receivers like a wet blanket, leaving Shedeur with no options to throw to and subsequently getting sacked 7 times. This bodes well for the Washington game, the Fuskies don't know what's coming!
  19. Same here. The only things Colorado has proved are they can beat a team in transition (TCU), a historically bad team (Nebraska), and a low tier G5 team (CSU). They don't have the depth of talent to beat Oregon, USC, UW, Utah, or even OSU. I do think they will beat Stanford, Cal, and ASU to finish .500 and qualify for a bowl game. That in itself is a good accomplishment considering last season.
  20. This would be a great time for OBD to blow the doors off their opponent.
  21. I can't recall a time that DL did prevent defense in any significant capacity since he came to Eugene. His defenses have typically been aggressive in pressuring the QB, particularly this season so far. That being said, he and Tosh are not afraid to adjust as necessary.
  22. They have starting experience but not necessarily the talent and group chemistry, giving up 16 sacks in 3 games? Sheldeur won't make it to mid-season at that rate...
  23. Jeeeeeeez.... Arizona State exits Fresno State loss with top three quarterbacks all injured SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM Arizona State is dealing with a devastating amount of injuries at the quarterback spot.
  24. After watching a low end Mountain West team push around Colorado's OL and DL all night I'm not concerned. Oregon's linemen are going to have a field day next weekend
