Penalties are really hurting the Fuskies as they have all season. I don't expect them to suddenly develop that discipline over the course of this game and I think it will ultimately cost them.

One thing in particular I'll be watching for are the linebackers dropping back into pass coverage, in particular the middle of the field. Last season it seemed like opposing teams easily found receivers in the middle of the field because the Oregon LBs were big and slow. Seems like it has been less of a problem this season, so Bassa and Hill will be holding one of the keys to shutting down those short/quick passes Pennix will take.

If anything, Will Stein fits a particular trait that Lanning seems to covet which is total adaptability. Something you're more likely to see in younger coaches than older ones.

Apparently he was part of a photoshoot with new uniforms/equipment yesterday which is why he missed practice, nothing injury related.

I think the first year in the B10 will be a bumpy one for OBD but only because there will be a new QB. Having a new QB starter is almost always an uneven transition as they settle in and we haven't seen enough of Ty Thompson or any other QB on the roster to know who will be "the man" in the pocket and whether they will do better than average. My gut tells me that TT and Austin Novasad might be just "gap" QBs that will fill the role until one of the new recruits arrive....possibly Luke Moga or even Akili Smith Jr.

I really like how DL makes the extra effort to POSITIVELY motivate his players. It's all done through inspiration to improve themselves and work towards achievable goals, all led by example. Really great example of coaches that love to teach.

As far as I'm concerned, the only "men" of Washington are the Ducks who moved up here 😛
