  1. Everyone is acting rusty. Something to note here is the weather. I'm in San Diego and this is the warm dry southwest air that historically makes the Ducks play in a funk in November against the Arizona schools.
  2. Really rough start. We'll get going, but at some point you've dug too deep of a hole against too good of a team. Like the PAC12 champ game last year. A couple 1st downs now. Deep shot. I noticed Tez ankle is wrapped and he limped off with little contact. Not good he is already hurt
  3. This is starting out like Texas ASU. It could take a little for our team to wake up from the time off. Oh to have lost to PSU. We'd be in such a better spot.
  4. Left tackle decides to double team the DL and let the DE run free into the backfield. Is that really the way it's drawn up? Doubt it. Arroyo is struggling here. Can't go through them, can't go around them. Can't get any time for levitt to pass. They need more roll out multi level pass plays, they need to check down to scatteboo on the few times Texas doesn't bring the house.
  5. The Offensive blockers are completely incompetent. I think moreso than the defenders strength, they haven't played against this kind of speed before. Texas defenders are juking and running past ASU blockers
  6. Plot Twist: DL got a grad assistant to do a false flag attack to further his players' sense of being disrespected, to maximize them playing angry and focused.
  7. Saw this on the wall in the lobby of the Homewood Suites we stayed in last night. I thought it was a good and appropriate sign for our Ducks through the playoffs..
  8. Honestly this is mild concern for the longer term. The longer he be coaching the less of the "I knew that guy" guys will be available. This goes for players and coaches. At some point there won't be any more diamonds in the rough he discovered himself, he'll just have to find diamonds and convince them to come play for him.
  9. 37-35 I think OSU will end up with more yards on offense and more touchdowns than us, but... Our FG kicker is better than theirs, so they will end up with wasted drives, turnover on downs because day doesn't trust his FG kicker. Dan will take points on 4th down in the red zone, trusting his Defense to get stops.
  10. This is the worst possible thing Ward could have done for his football future. I mean I guess he leaves a legacy with that statline that may never be broken due to the extra year of eligibility he got. But he's shown his true colors, in it for me, not for thee. You talk about making it hard to be a leader in the locker room, OMG, every time he opens his mouth there will be distrust of his intentions.
  11. The winners of Ducks-OSU and Georgia - ND are going to separate themselves from the winners of the other two games.
  12. I'm coming to the conclusion it is going to be a different game this time we play. If you imagine us playing offense the way we did against Penn State, and OSU playing O the way they did against Tenn. The question will be if we can set edges and prevent the passes out wide, often enough to get off the field, and if OSU can stop the quick passes from Dillon often enough to get us off the field. It's always a possibility somebody doesn't show up at the start of the game, but I struggle to see 2 digit win by either team. Both teams are too skilled and too competitive to let the other team run away from them.
  13. The only way to get rid of the anxiety is to be grateful for the season we've had, even if we lose. 13 and 1, B1G champs is a great year! My definition of gratefulness is "the art of lowering your standards and expectations."
  14. I'm more impressed with the OL creating good creases for most of those runs. I don't think his ceiling is higher than any other backs on our roster other than Limar.
  15. If it's doing the most with the least, Dillingham is the best. His resources are so bad it's epic, the conference picked his team to finish last, yet by the end of the year he blew out the competition in the CCG.
  16. It could be worse, this could be soccer, full of hundred year old rules that conspire to keep the score as close to 0-0 as possible.
  17. Why did it take so long for this to be announced. He clearly was unable to use his elbow to even jog on the field for the last play of the game. It was obviously a major injury. Georgia's biggest weakness besides their inconsistency, is their receivers are bad. They can't catch for starters, they can't get very open and they can't do anything special if they actually do end up with the ball in their hands. The difference from Bowers and McConkey last year is huge. They aren't elite like last year for that reason alone. That being said, as Josh Pate often mentions, the "QB down" effect is a real, that the rest of the team feels they need to pick up the slack for the backup QB and often play better than with their starter as long as the QB drop off isn't too big.
  18. Another good you tube analyst looking at the matchups for the Rose Bowl:
  19. Charles, he said "ranking" not seeding, and for that I do agree with him. The seeding format sucks, which we all agree with.
  20. These dudes, all year, have given the best matchup analysis for Oregon Ducks football games. Always worth a listen:
  21. We showed against Penn State that we can scheme our offense against DL pressure although Penn State's secondary isn't as good as OSU's. And it was good to see the new look of OSU defense to be better prepared for it. My biggest concern is OSU's offense scheming like they did against Tennessee. Attacking the edges of the defense and really taking advantage of their passing talent.
  22. MGM Odds of the national champion for the top 6 is +300 both the best and +500 for the worst. I will say the most enjoyable games I watched yesterday were the FCS semi finals. Teams full of ballers with little talent disparity, save the Montana State QB.
  23. Certainly in hindsight 8 was the right number this year, then again we still have BSU and ASU to prove they belong. Last year 4 was definitely not enough. The other thing we saw is just how big of a deal home field advantage is in the playoffs of a college football game.
  24. I think the spread will widen as this OSU performance marinates over the next week and people forget how good Oregon can play too. The O/U is 52 which is stupid low to me. I think it's going to be first team to 35 wins.
