Oregon Has a New SPEED Coach for Football...
I think it is a common misconception by those that don't care for track and field that it is simply a genetics competition, and there isn't much you can do to make yourself better. I was was already full grown my senior year of high school having done track for 4 years I never made the state meet in my jumping event at the 1-2A levels. But I walked on in college and ended up finishing 2nd in the Northwest region in NAIA nearly qualifying for the national meet my senior year. I wasn't a late bloomer but I trained at an Olympic level in college, to maximize the potential of my genes. That is why track is still a sport, and people don't just do one meet and retire saying I guess that's how good I'll ever be. Athletic ability is not a fixed value, strength endurance and speed can all be improved through hard and appropriate training just like any skill can be. So the speed coach working with strength and conditioning can absolutely impact a teams athletic ability on the field.

Beaver Fans Now See it...and Add to Their Problems
If the PAC 2 schools we really wise enough to see what is going on, they would take the windfall from the PAC12 collapse and set it up as an endowment to help fund athletics for decades. I fear they will squander it trying to make themselves relevant now.

2024 BIG Info, Predictions, Etc.
4 Defensive starters were responsible for 70% of our production?! Imagine if the new 7 could actually pull their weight how good would we be? I think it speaks to how innefective out DL was at generating sacks and tackles. Maybe it's our scheme to have them hog bodies and clog lanes rather than go after the ball.

Recent Study Shows Oregon Ducks not as Attractive in Realignment Landscape as Fans May Think
What is this? Being voted on by media only requires one factor: eye balls. University presidents: "Academic Prowessed" 50 factors weighted in stupid ways to get the answers you want is all this article is. Thanks for your OPINION Tony, but don't try to spin it as facts.

2024 BIG Info, Predictions, Etc.
I find it bizarre Michigan is the standard for anyone let alone 3 teams. It's irrational to define success against the option that has changed the most. Michigan needs to be completely redefined based on how they do in every game this season. Then people can start comparing to them again.

What if...Former Pac-12 Teams Meet in B1G Championship?
The only close probability for OSU to lose is against us. Outside of that, any loss would be a massive upset.

What if...Former Pac-12 Teams Meet in B1G Championship?
The odds of OSU finishing 3rd or lower in the BIG10 has to be less than 5%. Then multiple that times the odds Oregon is in the top 2 and multiply that by the odds USC is in the top 2 and you get "slightly more probable than impossible, or about a 1% chance.

Carlos Locklyn ... It's A Done Deal
Interesting point. Their likely were chemistry issues, maybe even with some of the areas of teaching techniques that weren't what Lanning and Stein wanted him to focus on. One thing I really loved about Locklyn is his players almost never fumbled. That is not easy to achieve.

Carlos Locklyn ... It's A Done Deal
I'm doubtful Whittington will follow Locklyn this time given the stable of RBs already there, but you never know. Any current RBs could hit the portal given the coaching change, so we'll have to keep our figures crossed everyone stays.

Should Oregon Play Osu Every Season?
Com'on. Settlements are just legal decisions minus court related lawyer fees and inability to pay. If they sued and took us 10 to court they would have won.

April 15th. Along With the IRS the Poachers Are Coming.
It's been a unique American thing that our college football subsidizes so much our national Olympic program. Other countries' governments have to pay for that. Perhaps you could find correlation between college football revenues and US medals won. For the summer games at least.

April 15th. Along With the IRS the Poachers Are Coming.
Is there another portal window in the late summer before the season?

Oregon vs. Creighton GameDay Thread!
I don't watch the regular season. Is there anybody on our team beside Cuisinart and Dante that can score a field goal? Anybody? I'm just waiting for Creighton to pop a couple 3s and put the game out of reach.

Was This Dana’s Best Coaching?
If Dana is a great coach, he pulled him off to the side after the celebration and said "Don't kid yourself, you can and need to play like this every game going forward, because this is what you are capable of every time you step on the floor."

How Long Before the ACC 'As Is' Breaks Up?
Pate says we will know the fate of the ACC before the season starts...not too long of a wait.

The B1G's 15 Biggest Games in 2024
I wonder what the #1 is ...shocking! Not. Here us what they said about UW VS UM: Both teams will look significantly different since the last meeting in January, including two new head coaches and several new starters on both two-deeps. I didn't know 20-30ish = several. UM put almost 20 kids in the draft. UW has only one returning starter. And that is before getting into the two deeps. Sounds like an order of magnitude level of denial or incompetence on the part of the writer.

UW AD Leaving...
If Jedd Fisch wasn't on a layover before, he is now.

How Long Before the ACC 'As Is' Breaks Up?
The cleanest answer in all this is FSU & Clemson pay the exit fee and cancel existing media rights, then ESPN uses that as grounds to renegotiate the contract with the ACC. The exit fees mask the pain in the short term from the renegotiated contract for those in the ACC that chose to stay. If the rats start to scatter during contract renegotiation it may very well be a pac 2 redo as Fox and ESPN feed on the carcass with scraps going to G5 B12 will be the last one to go. Then the tough work starts of making a new division where the questionable value teams of the legacy B1G and SEC get the boot.

What were Oregon State and WSU Supposed to Do?
Competition comes in many forms. Let's face it. OSU and WSU finally won something. And if Pac 12 leadership supported by outgoing school presidents was dumb enough to set a bad legal precedent, then they deserve to lose....and by logic, OSU and WSU deserve to win. Let's tip the cap to them and move on like everything else. Judging by the new CFP contract arrangement, ex p12 schools beat them this time. and the pac 2 may never win this type of competition again.

USC Tougher Opponent Than Oregon?
Penn St. put higher than Texas too. This writer is a major LEGACY B1G homer. The tune will change once once we start beating down the B1G teams. Not only will they need to pay attention to us for real, they will want to say how awesome we are to maximize the value of their losses as "good losses." I mean you can't ignore or claim a team sucks if they beat you down.

Spring Football 'Kicks Off'!
Noah Whittington is practicing doing kick return drills which is a great sign. He should be fully ready to go by the season.

Saint Nick Goes to Washington and Asks For Help.
NCAA has been begging Congress for an exception to the anti-trust laws and never sniffed the inside of a committee chamber, so St. Nicks is having more success. But yeah, I'm not sure Congress is the answer, and I think Congress themselves shares that same skepticism. Anything they do pass is likely to be stuck as the law of the land for a VERY long time with no opportunities to tweak it significantly outside of courts ruling portions of it as unconstitutional and unenforceable.

Jordan James is the Poster Guy for ESPN's Take on Top 25 Impact Players
ESPN nailed it with James. He arguably was better than Bucky this last year given his efficiency as a runner getting play calls that shouldn't necessarily be explosive but still getting 7 yards a carry! If he stays healthy he's going to shine as one of the best backs in the country.

Continuous Video Feeds of "The Climb"
Lanning doesn't tell us jack about what happens in practice. We just have to trust his process to give us results. Besides that, football just means more in the SEC. We love it here but it's more of a hobby than an identity or lifestyle, so in the off-season it's time to pay more attention to other things. We do get excited for the spring game though.

College Football Nearing Long-awaited Adoption of Helmet Communications After Successful Bowl Season Test
If the 2 minute warning is equal to a 30 second timeout, I'm fine with it, but I'm sure they will make it a full blown media timeout in length which is a bait and switch of the changes last year to shorten the game with more running clock.
