That was on JPJ's early snap, Tez was just in motion.

Camden kicking a field goal at 53 yards is a lower probability than us making 9 yards. Super conservative.
-
We only need to pass often enough to keep the D from loading the box. 5 yards a carry is the floor for us.
-
You have got to be kidding me. Cal has no business being in this ballgame, but we keep beating ourselves.
-
As expected, Cal's whole Defense and their OL are not competitive with us.
-
I know are trying to keep the field spread, but I don't think Cal's D can stop our run straight ahead.

I agree the biggest threat to our playoff hopes is Bama. Everyone keeps talking about LSU getting in as the first two loss team, but not over a one loss PAC12 team they won't. But a 1 loss Bama SEC champ, vs a 1 loss PAC12 championship? Scary. Of course Georgia taking care of business in the SEC Championship game solves that problem.

For that Cal game I remember there was a blown call by the ref on a critical play that kept us from losing. I remember being stunned. I do believe we need to dominate every team from here on out to ensure we make the cut over 1 loss B1G and SEC teams down the stretch, so certainly hope we hit the spread. I don't expect us to hit it though. Best we can hope for us a WSU type game where they get a lot of yards, but not a lot of points. And we definitely need to not let the rain throw off our game plan and home field advantage.

We are playing Cal, so I'm fine with us wearing bland business suits. Our Unis need to be fire against USC though.

Holy Crap. Stein Blames Himself for Washington Loss
Solar replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It's important for leaders to take pride in their accomplishments, but not have pride in their self worth. That second kind of pride is the biggest obstacle to success of a team. It requires blinding yourself to you own deficiencies, which keeps you from improving, or correcting course. -

Both guilty and framed. I mean the NCAA hates Harbaugh. There are plenty of infractions they could go after, but they picked the ones Michigan did and went after them. What are the odds Harbaugh goes to the NFL and Michigan tries to steal Lanning? Even if they try I'm doubtful DL would be persuaded at any price to go there

We'll I'd counter with that time Duck fans chanted "frick' the Mormons." after BYU's Sumataia had ran around the stadium before the game a flag honoring Spencer Webb. So we can be classless too, and if I were Mormon I'd probably not forget that had happened and wished the worst for the Ducks too. All water under the bridge. We won't play Utah any any time soon unless we meet in the playoffs.

What a lazy butt effort by the committee. As expected. Record first. Everything else distant second. Then rank by most important P5 conferences. "The only thing we were concerned about was Washington." But when push comes to shove, you're okay with leaving them out, because hey, they're just PAC12. Let's forget the OC record of the conference. I'd like to think that, but 5 undefeated P5 teams. The only one left out of the Playoffs is a PAC12 team. When the chips are down we can be left behind. Let's say Georgia, Bama and the OSU end up one loss with undefeated FSU. Does a one loss PAC12 team still get in? I don't think so. 2024 can't get here fast enough. We need to win our remaining games including the championship by an average score differential of 20 points or we are giving the CFP a major opening to screw us.
-
It's just a stretch that there is a 50% chance of one of the two winning it all, especially when they have to play each other before they even get into the playoffs. One will have one loss.
-
Oddsmakers are nuts. 50% championship probability between OSU and Michigan? UW odds at 2%? Oregon at 6%? Bettors still think PAC12 is trash.
-
I'm kind of thinking the committee will punt where they can. Meaning let the W/L record, and margin of victory drive the rankings where the games left can sort it all out. So Georgia and Michigan at the top then FSU, tOSU and UW, then Oregon. UW could surprise their way ahead of OSU or FSU based on PAC12 OOC dominance. I can't wait until next year when just possibly they can pay more attention to who is playing the best at the end of the season instead of who played the most consistent over 12 games. Why define college kids by the worst they are capable of instead of the best they are capable of? Never has made any sense. Sorry.

College Football Week 10 - Puddles Perfect Playoff Possibilities
Solar replied to Jon Joseph's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Here is my hot take prediction for the CFP 1ST cut tomorrow. Oregon #5, UW #6. Head to head and overall record aren't the only determining factors. Committee decides to take the obvious stance that Oregon is the best team in the PAC12 at the moment. For a face melting take, Oregon at #4 ahead of an undefeated UW and tOSU. CFP remembers OOC record of the PAC12 conference this year and assumes PAC12 is best conference. So if Ducks are ahead of undefeated Huskies, and undefeated OSU should be behind the undefeated PAC12 team then... -
A late night game in the desert has always been trouble, even in November. It's not the heat, it's everything else about the desert and playing when your body is telling you it's time to go to bed
-
Called it, unfortunately. AZ and Utah are the Big12's problem going forward. I really hope our ASU game is not a late game.
-
Those FPI rankings are wildly different from the AP and Coaches poll. Interesting.
-
Both USC and Cal are poorly coached. Utah played USC close the week before and look what we did to them? Fool me once, shame on USC. YEEEOOOOOWW! I won't be fooled again! In other news, UW 2nd Down and 37...that must be a record or something. Now 3rd and 27, aaaand punt.

I'm so glad this Cal/USC game is hidden on the PAC12 Network. Horrible quality of play.
