  1. A few more games with the accuracy shown against Cal and it could become a reality.
  2. People putting "their money where their mouths are" should be the "smartest people in the room", but this shows they can be pretty slow learners too.
  3. I continue to regard this game as USC having a punchers chance because of Riley and Williams, but that's all. I fail to see how we would come out unready to play USC at home. We've played well in the 3 statement games so far-CU, UW, Utah. Screwy thing happen late in the evening, but it's usually the away team that gets the short end of the stick as it pushes them further out of their comfort zone. I expect this to go like most games with uneven competition where they put up a good fight early, keeping it close or leading, but by midway through the 3rd quarter the dominance of the better skilled and athletic team just takes over.
  4. Woah! Ferentz was fired? AD finally stepped in and did the right thing. Sports is supposed to be a meritocracy. I'm sure the boosters gave the AD an ultimatum. He goes or we go.
  5. I saw 99 on the field for at least 1 play, FWIW.
  6. Every situation is different, but Deion Sanders took away play calling duties from the OC last week and they turned in their worst offensive performance of the year (other than against the Ducks of course) this weekend.
  7. TT played well. My sense is he is like DJU, and his ceiling is similar. Actually I think TT's mechanics are better, but accuracy is still suspect. There was one throw to the outside that was off enough to delay the RB getting up field in time to pickup the first down. There was another receiver out wide with the ball landing at his feet. Like others say, Bo will be tough act to follow. I'm spoiled. But it's a legitimate question if we could be playoff caliber with DJU level of inconsistent play. We have fantastic talent but not tOSU or Bama levels of talent. Next year could be rough. We need to enjoy this season.
  8. Well, the firing of Grinch is a bit of a wrinkle to my original post, putting an asterisk on it to say the least. There is only one week here, so the scheme can't be changed to any substantial degree for Klein to worry about, the players can't be developed. Maybe a few stupid calls during the game gets changed. Some tendencies may change. Perhaps they simplify the scheme to focus on attacking the ball. My biggest concern is USC having a hope as a result of a fresh start and coming out on fire. Football is so mental.
  9. This. I thought Grinch was finally going to make Oklahoma defense legit. He kinda did until about a year and a half, then the D got soft again. There is a reasonable chance here that Riley is correct that replacing Grinch won't solve their problems on defense. Riley's complacency, apathy, devaluing towards defense is just corrosive to that part of the team.
  10. I actually think this is a reasonable possibility. He does play up for good teams and down for bad ones. But then again I haven't watched FSU play to know how good they really are.
  11. Certainly there will be a lot of high ceilings underperforming QB's dying to join the Ducks, but it is within the realm of possibilities that we snag some QB that is really good already, from a team in the bottom half of a power 5 league. I really like that Fifita kid from AZ. A cross between Kyler Murray and Vernon Adams.
  12. USC hadn't quit in any of the other games mentioned in the original post, so if usc AND Oregon both show up, this is a blowout. Yes we must not play flat expecting an easy win, but this is USC. Everyone gets up for USC. My biggest concern is this is a 7:30pm game, where screwy things can happen and we've been playing day games practically all year, but we are at home which mitigates that a lot.
  13. Yes, this is the sum of all fears scenario if the Ducks win out, and worse, it is the most probable scenario.
  14. I read the entire thread. Some of the quotes are gold. One dude wishes to send MC back to Oregon. Sorry. No refunds!
  15. Dude nailed it! His prediction was right above mine and I scoffed at an over 60 score, but he was was dead on. Tip of the hat to you sir!
  16. Oregon beat Colorado 42-6 and the next week Colorado took USC to overtime. USC lost to Utah and the next week we beat Utah 35-6. USC beat Cal by 1 point (thanks to Cal giving the ball away 4 times) and the next week we beat Cal 63-19. The shocking thing I saw against UW is how drained Caleb looked at the end of the game. This will be their 8th game since their bye week. They don't have depth and are worn down. Looking at the size and lack of strength of the USC players gives me Oregon Ducks 2016 vibes. This game will be a blowout. A 14 point spread is the easiest money you'll get all year.
  17. They stated Johnson had 199 yards rushing BEFORE CONTACT (256 total) with a few minutes left to go. That has to be some kind of record.
  18. What's with the Cal OC wearing an apple green Cal shirt? Why would you do that in Autzen? I keep thinking Oregon has a Conor Stallions on Cal's sideline.
  19. He clipped him first, bad kind of effort. Know when you're beat.
  20. He got pushed backwards, then somebody landed on his body right when his head was hitting the turf. There is a possibility his neck was in tension at the moment of impact making it very possible to shear the vertebrae against the spinal cord. Cal looks like they just want to go home, and I don't blame them. Time to put in the backups and turn it into a scrimmage.
  21. Vicious freak hits to the head with the whiplash contact to the ground from friendly fire. Sucks to see. I hope he will be okay, and they are just being cautious with him getting knocked out. Edit: Not looking good at all. This isn't precaution. He crying but not moving anything, and they were moving so slow with everything, even the cart. I REALLY hope I'm wrong.
  22. Nice block in the back to keep Bassa from making the tackle. Really hard to see by the refs given positioning.
  23. Iowa beat NW 10-7. Ferentz and Riley are like a Left and Right Twix. Ferentz could care less about having an offense and Riley could care less about having a defense. Maybe USC can figure out a way to make Ferentz co-head coach with Riley to be the ultimate juggernaut. Completely silo each side of the ball.
  24. This is why you always wear white shoes...it worked for Braylon Addison against ASU.
  25. PAC12 knucklehead can't even get Tez' story right, geez.
