  1. I disagree. We did not beat ourselves, we played really good ball. If they aren't a good team then neither are we. Eye test says these were 2 top 10 teams slugging it out possibly at a higher level than Texas vs. OU last week.
  2. It barely went wide. I've also played sports. Try hitting 10 free throws in a row. Even in a good head space with tons of practice just about everyone will miss one. If he'd really shanked it like he did a bunch earlier in his career okay, but a close miss from 42 happens. And he had a little bit of accuracy issues last week. Even golfers have ebbs and flows of their skill. I hope he flows back into the level of accuracy we have grown accustomed to.
  3. Tough loss. We didn't beat ourselves, but we lost. No turn overs, no false starts or bad penalties, tons of yards and time of possession, but didn't finish drives and lost. Obviously a lot of focus on the 4th down conversions that weren't. What about the last second time out on the final drive by DL that allowed us to convert on 3rd, when the no-play failed? Dan had his team mentality prepared and they played pretty well for 4 quarters. You have to take the good with the bad here. I'd like to see some different short yardage options in our scheme. We're the slant passes really never there? Drag route from play action? Didn't see many RPOs acted on. I think the biggest frustration is losing so similarly to last year, even with a Williams brother having a really bad game and not converting on fourth downs. I sure hope we can play UW again in Vegas, a neutral sute.
  4. Stanford is the ultimate Jekyll and Hyde team. They shut us down for a 20 minute stretch, played the most uninspired football I've ever seen in the 2nd quarter against Colorado, then turned into a dominating team in the second half. Really, I'm not sure Colorado really played significantly worse in the second half, it's just Stanford played that much better. And that was the most dominant performance I've ever seen from a receiver in a single half. I think he had 10-15 catches and and 250 yards. Completely unstoppable
  5. Evan and Bennet are equally skilled with one exception. Evan in fast. Speed was always Bennet's liability like Steve Stephens. Both those guys cost us about 4-5 touchdowns last year, one of them critical against Washington.
  6. I think our depth in the defensive line will wear out the UW O-Line in the fourth quarter. Penix won't be able to do a "game winning drive running for his life. So if it's a one score game in the fourth quarter, odds are very high we win.
  7. Husky fan doing their part on hate week. KDB can't recruit his way out of a paper bag, and once all the players he brought from his previous stops cycle through, there won't be enough good coaching in the world to turn that water into wine. Anybody got any "Your mama.." jokes? We've got almost 2 days left. Let's dig deep people.
  8. When Bo was asked which uni he liked best in 2022, it was the eggshells whites. Whatever makes him feel good helps him play good I'm all for this weekend. It looks like the black speckles are more bold on the uniforms this year, which I think helps keep me from thinking my eyes are playing tricks on me that I am just imagining the speckles at a distance.
  9. Kinda all sounds like "WIN THE DAY" to me. I wish UO never let go of that motto for that reason, that it is a cornerstone of sports psychology. It wasn't trademarked and doesn't have to be tied exclusively to Chip Kelly. I sure wasn't happy when Taggart replaced it with "Do Something."
  10. We were the better team last year when we played. We lost because Bo got injured and frankly, UW appeared more motivated to win. I think we have improved this year more than UW has improved. Being an away game I think it will come down to these three things: 1. Bo settling down quickly and playing with confidence despite the road environment and tight coverage. 2. Don't beat ourselves with penalties and turnovers. 3. Our team playing with urgency and confidence, wanting to win more than the Huskies. Do these three things and the details won't matter. We are the better team.
  11. You defer. How else are you going to pick-six Penix on the first play of the game?
  12. Interesting. So the analytics only gave a .1% chance of the head coach being foolish enough to run the ball instead of going into a victory formation. Cristobal is a 1 in 1000 coach. That's what the analytics are saying. Who am I to argue with them?
  13. It's well publicized that USC did NOT want the Ducks tagging along with them to the B1G. The reason was simple and 2-fold: 1. Stop us from stealing their recruits. 2. Stop them from losing to us when we play. You may see where I'm going with this... It makes way too much sense for the 4 legacy PAC schools to keep playing each other every year as protected matchups due to history and travel distances. I don't buy the reason the league boss gave of more thoroughly integrating us. I think by only having us play in socal 4 times every 5 years it hurts our ability to recruit there and minimizes the number of opportunities for us to beat USC. After B1G told USC that Oregon wouldn't follow them just to end up doing that months later, it only makes sense that this B1G scheduling is their way to throw USC a bone. And by the time 2026 rolls around there will be more changes, the schedule will be redone again and perhaps then everyone will wise up that the 4 West Coast teams should play each other every year. What do you think?
  14. Dan will be taking the best QB he can get from the portal every single year we don't have a return Heisman candidate.
  15. Fisch is an absolute doorknob at game management. OMG. All they had to do was run the football and keep it in bounds for the rest of the drive. Instead the QB is hucking deep passes, and ends up settling on a 50 yard field goal his kicker can't make. And give the ball back to Caleb Williams with 2 minutes left. But as I type this USC muffs the winning field goal. OMG. Bad play by PAC12 this week perhaps with the exception of the Beavers.
  16. Now we know which morons to send the thank you card to. I'm only half joking.
  17. All I know is John hated the Ducks before we left his Beavers behind in the group of five. Of course he hopes the worst for us, but hope is not a plan. Dan has a plan, and the playoffs are expanding enough that you don't have to dominate every game all season. You just have be merely great and get hot at the end of the season.
  18. Hey it's 2023. You aren't allowed to be grateful and post about it online. Just kidding. Best wishes for your wife's full recovery.
  19. It's becoming a trend just how poor the OLs are in the PAC12. A combination of low talent and poor depth. Colorado, USC, WSU, UCLA, ASU, UA even UW and Utah aren't very good. The Oregon schools are the only ones that command some amount of respect. For as good as the coaches and QBs are in this conference the OLs are notably bad.
  20. My biggest hope for the playoff expansion next year is the committee can start focusing on the wins rather than the losses for the 6 at large bids. No more stepping on a rake or having a bad call by the officials for one game and being left out. I mean what if you beat a strong OSU, UM and UW, but drop 2 games and miss the B1G championship game? I'd like to think you still get in.
  21. Agreed, why aren't the quad protected games? It would really help with the travel. Another wth is why are we playing 10 (!) conference games some years and 9 other years?
  22. They say September can fool a lot of people We are definitely going to find out who we really are when we play 4 quarters in Seattle this year. In addition, probabilities are a funny thing. Even if you are heavily favored in every game, if you play enough games you will eventually lose. 13 is a pretty large number. I don't think we can run the table. The only team I'm scared to lose to is WSU. They miss USC and Utah, and can easily steal a spot in the PAC12 Championship, especially if they have a tie-breaker over us.
  23. Ohio State and Penn State in the PNW, Michigan in California, and LSU in Vegas? A brave new world, I'm telling you. It's almost like free transfer portal recruiting to bring teams out from the rust belt to see how beautiful the west coast is and that we aren't all fruits and nuts like their parents told them we are.
  24. Yep. If UW is so good, why has Penix had to play so much of the games? Their SoS isn't any better than ours. If we extrapolated Bo's stats for the same amount of playing time as Penix, they would be surprisingly close. Our Offensive stats would be ahead of UWs by a country mile.
  25. The PAC12 absolutely dominated the out of conference schedule. There is no freaking way a one loss PAC12 Champ doesn't get in without massive questions on the integrity of the selection committee/process. Especially with a round robin of all contenders. 17% chance of missing? No way. .
