A Championship Game in the Quarterfinals is Dumb
It could be worse, this could be soccer, full of hundred year old rules that conspire to keep the score as close to 0-0 as possible.

Georgia Loses Beck For The Season
Why did it take so long for this to be announced. He clearly was unable to use his elbow to even jog on the field for the last play of the game. It was obviously a major injury. Georgia's biggest weakness besides their inconsistency, is their receivers are bad. They can't catch for starters, they can't get very open and they can't do anything special if they actually do end up with the ball in their hands. The difference from Bowers and McConkey last year is huge. They aren't elite like last year for that reason alone. That being said, as Josh Pate often mentions, the "QB down" effect is a real, that the rest of the team feels they need to pick up the slack for the backup QB and often play better than with their starter as long as the QB drop off isn't too big.

College Football with Sam OSU vs. Ducks Analysis
Another good you tube analyst looking at the matchups for the Rose Bowl:

First Round of 2024 Playoffs Were an Unmitigated Disaster
Charles, he said "ranking" not seeding, and for that I do agree with him. The seeding format sucks, which we all agree with.

ROC Boys Ducks vs. Bucks Analysis
These dudes, all year, have given the best matchup analysis for Oregon Ducks football games. Always worth a listen:

Can Oregon Best the Buckeyes Again in Rose Bowl Rematch?
We showed against Penn State that we can scheme our offense against DL pressure although Penn State's secondary isn't as good as OSU's. And it was good to see the new look of OSU defense to be better prepared for it. My biggest concern is OSU's offense scheming like they did against Tennessee. Attacking the edges of the defense and really taking advantage of their passing talent.

First Round of 2024 Playoffs Were an Unmitigated Disaster
MGM Odds of the national champion for the top 6 is +300 both the best and +500 for the worst. I will say the most enjoyable games I watched yesterday were the FCS semi finals. Teams full of ballers with little talent disparity, save the Montana State QB.

First Round of 2024 Playoffs Were an Unmitigated Disaster
Certainly in hindsight 8 was the right number this year, then again we still have BSU and ASU to prove they belong. Last year 4 was definitely not enough. The other thing we saw is just how big of a deal home field advantage is in the playoffs of a college football game.

A Classic Rose Bowl Setting for Oregon-Ohio State Part 2. How is it Going to Go?
I think the spread will widen as this OSU performance marinates over the next week and people forget how good Oregon can play too. The O/U is 52 which is stupid low to me. I think it's going to be first team to 35 wins.

Great. Now our CURRENT Conference is Being Bad-Mouthed...
How's everyone liking those B1G apples today? If only Oregon could play Texas next week so it could be 3 out of 4 in the Semis from the B1G

Penn State's Victory Highlights Oregon's Dominance.
We beat them with a lot people playing sick too supposedly. I do think home field advantage is worth a ton for both Penn State and Notre Dame and Texas in a playoff game. I wish we played SMU at home today instead. Would have been a party. We'll see how Ohio State does in the shoe with half the fans from Tennessee.

Five Big Ten Heisman Trophy Contenders In 2025
Man nearly all of those guys are swing for the fence picks except Allar. USC will be a dumpster fire. We don't know if Moore will start next year. Jeremiah Johnson will need a QB that can throw and an OC that will let him. Dillon Crayola isn't him, at least not in that offense.

He Nailed the Precise Score! OBD Prediction Contest Winner for the Notre Dame vs. Indiana Game Was...
IU 31-13 Indiana is a team full of experienced ballers, so I think they will execute better in adverse conditions.

A B1G Weekend Is at Hand. 3-0? 0-3? Something In Between?
With the exception of SMU I think there is little separation between these teams. Bring the popcorn!

Ruh-Roh! Oregon Has a B1G Advantage for Portal Transfers!
Yeah, casually one could think he is a drop in replacement for Tez, but that's not close to reality. He has the natural feel for running with the ball, but not necessarily running routes and catching balls.

Jake Dickert Jumps Ship for Wake Forrest HC Position
Any good coach is too good for that program unfortunately. I don't blame Dickert

Deion Sanders Shows Dan Lanning it’s Not ‘Clicks’
Yeah, the article is a puff piece for CU homers. Sanders snagged a 5 star that idolized him and won an awards that is a popularity contest award, and somehow this changes anything at a team or coaching level. Oh and Dan has 5 five stars joining in the spring...

Oregon QB Recruiting Strategy: ALWAYS Go Portal?
Let's not forget the Vernon Adams, and Cam Wards of the world that nobody knows about at a bottom dweller G4 or FCS school that can light it up. While high school to college seems to be crapshoot, low level college giant slayers translate very well to high level programs. And Bo wasn't exactly the hottest transfer QB when we picked him up. There are some excellent non high profile options every year. I'm pretty sure Dan is looking. Whether he actually ends up getting an experienced difference maker is TBD.

How Low are the Probabilities of Winning the Natty?
Even moreso it's their consistency that has separated them from the field, which bodes well for having to win multiple tough games.
-
How Low are the Probabilities of Winning the Natty?
That's what article based on SP+ shows. 20% chance still sucks. I'd put our odds closer to a 35-40% chance, which is still in the more likely to lose than win the Natty range. That's my head talking. My heart feels like we have about a 70% chance.

How Is This Possible? Enough With the Ducks Diss Already!

How Low are the Probabilities of Winning the Natty?
Predicting the College Football Playoff: ESPN round-by-round predictions to the title - On3 WWW.ON3.COM ESPN has provided its projections for each team to reach the next round of the College Football Playoff, using the SP+. "What’s wildly interesting about the projections from the SP+ is how low the actual probabilities for any one team winning the title are. Oregon leads the way but has only a 20.4% chance to win it all." It's simple statistics: increasing the size of the playoff field increases the number of games that have to be played which increases the number of chances to lose. Think of it this way: During the BCS, if you were #1 or 2 in the country you had a 50% chance of winning it all, and #3 to everyone else had a zero percent chance. During the 4 team playoff if you were 1-4 you had a 25,% chance of winning the playoffs, and everyone 5 and lower had a zero percent chance. Now the #1 team in the nation that is favored can only muster 20% (statistically with out consideration of performance is 12.5%), while 11 others have some chance, and 13 and on have a zero % chance. Is the new system more fair? It depends what your rank is! Arizona State is saying heck yes! While we are looking back at the glory days of BCS saying if only things didn't change. Our odds of winning are not good. Think of how much of an underdog a one game 12-20% odds of winning is. Imagine being an Illini fan hoping you beat Oregon. That's the kind of odds we are up against to win it all. Enjoy every game we get!

Travis Hunter is the Greatest College Football Player Ever!
I defend Hunter a lot, but best college player ever is a high bar. I'm not feeling it.

Does Sports Illustrated Matter anymore?
Like every other print media legacy product, they've had their struggles with staying relevant in the digital age. I wouldn't say they are irrelevant, but they don't stand out anymore than anyone else.
