  1. That's great to hear. Good job Dillon.
  2. He's no fool. He's not giving anything for Lanning to use against him.
  3. A great reminder it can always be worse..well, maybe not for Penn State, but it can always be worse..
  4. I'm with Charles. It's relative. I'm a manager that hires from time to time and all the B1G school carry prestige for their graduates. At least we're accredited unlike Nebraska, the only team below them.
  5. It's the loooooong travel and they let Oregon beat them twice as they say. I don't think this PSU loss takes away from our win.
  6. The most hilarious part of this whole thing is the UCLA fans just sitting in the stands after winning. Nobody rushed the field.
  7. Penn State looks sluggish and in a fog. It's almost like traveling all the way across the country is hard on a team. Who knew? One could say Oregon's win is lessened by a Penn State loss to UCLA, but I think it shows how hard it is to pull off what Oregon did.
  8. Sorry John. I've literally never heard of a private equity deal that didn't ultimately screw over the little guy. They will find a way. They will be a stage 4 cancer the B1G office will never admit they have for the next 20 years as fans get the short end of the stick in an insidious manner.
  9. Great to see Big Play VA making a living off his talent even if it isn't the NFL.
  10. I kind of had the same hohum response. we are entering the getting spoiled phase.
  11. I hate private equity that typically seems to strip mine everything it can at everyone's expense. In this case it appears the B1G is getting: $2B Outsourced Business Management Outsourced Business development, with incentives to drive growth The entity is getting 5% of the profits going forward. It seems like a reasonable deal. My concerns lie in strip mining fans which the B1G governance has to limit, but they will be under a lot more incentive and pressure from the entity to do bad things for the fans that increase profits (i.e. corruption). I'm also nervous about how this affects the flexibility of the league and it's compounded by extending the grant of right to TWO DECADES which as another poster commented sounds extremely foolish in light of the ACC experience. Is conference realignment frozen by this? Are distributions to the equity holders frozen by this? Are the media deals frozen by this? Bottom line, anytime private equity gets involved the public's pockets are going to get picked. This will be no different. The inflation of prices for everything the B1G gets a cut of will be huge as the find the pricing pain point where hardcore fans tap out. Jerseys, game and tailgating tickets, B1G network subscriptions, longer commercial breaks, etc. And who knows what the future holds and how the lack of flexibility could leave the B1G out in the cold as the industry innovates, resulting in hollowing out the league.
  12. Yeah, the WSU DC Grinch that came to USC was one of the best DCs WSU ever had. Gave USC a good D for one year, then it was all downhill after that to the basement and USC fans swore he was a horrible DC. It appears to be happening all over again with the former UCLA DC that was the best thing since sliced bread for UCLA.
  13. Thanks for checking me. I thought Shough was starting somewhere, but apparently he's still backing up Rattler at the Saints. I've corrected the article to 4. Still seems like a lot.
  14. If Daniels stays out for one more week and Gabriel starts for the Browns it would be 4 Duck QBs starting on Sunday.ld that be a record for a single college to have 4 QBs starting? oregonliveFormer Ducks star quarterback expected to see first NFL s...Three other former Ducks quarterbacks already have started for their NFL teams this season.
  15. The article reads like a boy girl breakup story. Give me a break. It's embarrassing for their program to even publish that. Why would you?
  16. I agree. He's a fantastic coach for a mid school like IU. Maybe he can do more with more but right now you have to respect the results considering the resources. With 2 weeks to game plan against IU who is the best remaining team on our schedule, I expect our coaches to have solutions to the things IU wants to do, especially after seeing Iowa having success shutting down their offense and Illinois showing what not to do.
  17. If we don't win the Natty, is there enough NIL money and gratitude for Oregon for him to come back even as a top 5 draft pick?
  18. It wont be Big Noon, but yeah, depending on how Indy does this week maybe we get a second Game Day in as many games for us.
  19. The other reason this could have been no called is the unspoken make up call rule. It was near that same spot on they ruled Whittington not down due to contacting blades of grass which resulted in a major swing. This targeting call would have given us first down at the 1 yardline instead of it being 4th and 1. It was perhaps a bridge too far to give us two major calls to keep our drive alive and cost them one of their starters. A separate note, is targeting was intended to take the head out of tackling, but PSU defenders didn't get the memo. The consistently were making significant contact with their helmets all through the game. I really would prefer not to play them again for that reason.
  20. I feel like they are our new Stanford, where every season we are capable of ruining each other season. Honestly coming into the B1G I thought our best comparison was PSU, not Michigan or Ohio State, but Dan Lanning's performance has me questioning that.
  21. #1 Because the player made a football move he wasn't defenseless, despite the fact he was been restricted by another tackler. This is a major oversight of the rule that can and should be fixed. #2. The region of his helmet that made contact was just outside of what is considered the crown of the helmet per the current rule. On a reddit game thread evn the PSU fans were asking about why it wasn't targeting. The rule is still a work in progress and I expect the Ducks football program is going give the B1G offices heck for fixing the rules so players don't get hurt in this situation that clearly meets the intent of what the rule is trying to prevent, yet rules it acceptable.
  22. Every year we can dream, but this year we can really ponder. We need to keep improving and adapting to our strengths through the rest of the season.
  23. More thoughts: Dan Lanning's reaction to winning was priceless, and his comment was notable: " These players have an elite level of focus". Bookmark that. Dante's reaction after winning was very interesting, he wasn't happy as much as it was pure relief and exhaustion. I think he final put those UCLA demons in the rear view mirror. I haven't seen so many plays with an RB lead blocking since the death of the I - formation. Davidson saw the most snaps of any RB for this purpose. Hill is our best running back with the ball in his hands, and everyone knows it. As soon as he gets to be reliable in pass blocking he'll be RB #1. Raise your hands if you didn't know that the top of the blades of grass are considered "down". I sure as heck didn't. Prior to ultra high definition tv slow motion replay it wasn't relevant either. Maybe Dwyer was actually down and technology wasn't good enough to capture it I also didn't know kicking someone's foot to make them trip over themselves was a 15 yard penalty. The yard duties strike again. I could do just fine without playing a Knowles' led defense ever again. 17 points at the end of regulation and I thought our offense played great. That defense is up there with the prior Ohio State and Michigan defense.
  24. I guess I was primarily paying attention to the ends, backers and safeties.
