Hummm, Ohio St. Wants Unequal Revenue Sharing???
I think there is only room for so many Notre Dames in the television landscape. ND is pretty unique in having already achieved extreme popularity while having always been independent. BYU is a recent example that tried this and failed despite having a very good brand and national following with a religious angle. tOSU is obliviously a huge brand that is currently extremely hot due to on-field success, but it’d be a huge risk for a network to try an exclusive deal that paid more than tOSU currently makes with the B1G. Where does it end? Why not Texas, Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, etc. So I maintain they have no leverage and should be told to sit and spin or to pound sand. There are like 5 universities currently a half-notch below them (half-notch below them as of this moment, subject to change) that’d take their place in a heartbeat.

What is tOSUs leverage? Leaving for the NFL? I’d politely tell them to sit and spin.

Uniform Reveal! Classic Good Looks, of COURSE!
They look great! That’s my only beef as well. When we mix and match the different pallets together it doesn’t quite work. I believe there is a green helmet with a black O available btw, it’s pretty boss!

Oregon Football: Did We Underestimate Dakorien Moore?
I think I listed on another thread that the thing I was most looking forward to this season was the Moore to Moore connection, so was definitely on my radar. The thing I most underestimated was probably the running back room. We have a very deep and top end crew to survive the long season. Think that position was on fumes late last year.

Why is Big Noon Kickoff going to Northwestern?
Weak slate of B1G games and ABC had the “big one”. OBD are top-5 with a conference game, probably the best choice.

The PAC 2 Have Gotten Worse At a Breathtaking Pace
I mostly agree, but your last line is key for me. I might be starting to feel empathy towards them if they had joined with their partners in the MWC instead of trying to destroy and now sue them. They put their faith in a lesser version (TG) of the previous conference administration which had the track record of destroying the best conference in the history of college conferences. TG was more interested in keeping her job than doing what was best for the conference IMO. They kept basking in the glory of temporary “bean-counting” victories instead doing what was right in front of them and creating a really good conference that could have started this year. They needed to strike while the iron was hot, instead they dragged things out while their rosters became a joke. The new bottom feeders they added to the new PAC are absolutely no better than the bottom feeders of the MWC. There really is no reasonable explanation for why they didn’t merge, it was the longterm solution right in front of of their face, but they didn’t want to risk sharing their short-term windfall, imo.

The PAC 2 Have Gotten Worse At a Breathtaking Pace
I think Beavis has an outside shot at 0-12 now. They’re almost certainly starting 0-6 imo, 1-5 at best. The last 6 games on their schedule are pathetic, but so are they. WSU looks like the better team, and they play twice. Some of those random teams are going to have better athletes than they think. I’d put their ceiling at 4-8 at this point.

The PAC 2 Have Gotten Worse At a Breathtaking Pace
Seriously, there’s nothing to suggest they won’t be middle of the PAC if that conference sticks around. The one advantage they used to have over their new conference teams was their association with the real PAC. In the new PAC they’re just some wannabe trying to recruit against teams located in better recruiting markets.

The PAC 2 Have Gotten Worse At a Breathtaking Pace
You were saying? Oh Beavis.

Moga is the No. 2 Quarterback....MOGA?
Interesting, but I don’t read a whole lot into rotations when the game is decided in the 1st quarter. I don’t think that walk-on is our third string.

Quantity Over Quality: Ferentz Set To Become B1G Wins Leader
Gotta score more than 10 before I’m impressed 😜 Guy fires his son as OC only to field the exact same offense. Happy Thanksgiving my boy!

Is Oregon the Next Oklahoma State?
I’d go so far as to say they’re almost identical. If the PAC had survived and the B12 was the one to blow up they might be in the same situation as Beavis. We will never know but I’m guessing Okie would have been on the bubble as an ACC or PAC expansion list target.

The PAC 2 Have Gotten Worse At a Breathtaking Pace
Oh yeah, every team not called BSU that’s joining the league in 2026 is at best a mediocre G6.

Single Portal Window Coming???
Don’t think it’ll be a problem. Last day to register for classes is Jan 12th in 2026 for instance….and it’s athletics, guessing they'll find a way.

Is Oregon the Next Oklahoma State?
Follow up, we all know, but when you tally it up it’s pretty stark. Using the same criteria, since 1994 OBD have 10 conference titles and 3 playoff (including BCS title game) appearances. FYI - A little context - prior to the expanded playoff last year, only 10 teams had ever made the playoff.
-
Is Oregon the Next Oklahoma State?
I think we’re pretty well established on the field. Since 1994 (31 years!) OkState has one conference title and zero playoff appearances. Having a particularly notable donor does not make us the same.

Alabama Wiped Out By FSU
Never follow a legend.

AP Poll is Out
Fascinating. Clearly doesn’t matter all THAT much on September 2…but I would penalize Texas and Clemson a lot more. I don’t care who they were playing against, those were some anemic offensive outputs given how much build up they both had as supposed offensive juggernauts.

Oklahoma State's HC Mike Gundy: Talkin Out of Both Sides of His Mouth
So is he looking to join the new PAC? Seriously, aren’t the Cowboys members of a P4? Are they going to opt out of joining the new big boy division when it happens?

SEC Coverage: Thoughts on ESPN?
Welcome! There is very little untainted analysis of anything on TV in general imo. It’s all about packaging the next thing to watch or buy. What used to be fun and an event (any GameDay show on Saturday) has now become noise and I’m tuning in for just the game.

Omigosh...Beavis Looked BAD
I think the only ones spinning Cal as being good are Beavis fans in denial. Cal will be lucky to go 6-6, I think. Their QB s promising, but didn’t really do THAT much after the 1st quarter. Cal destroyed OSU last year and still had a bad season.
-
Omigosh...Beavis Looked BAD
Oh yeah, I watched the whole thing. I was going into this game just stunned by local Beaver Nation that really thought they had everything figured out and had this game penciled in as a W. Oregonian writers borderline gushing and nearly unanimous in picking Beavis for this game because “Cal had a lot of turnover”. The day and age of returning players being the primary indicator are loooong gone. If you go 5-7 against a terrible schedule and no one wants any of your players, that’s not a good thing. Their miracle QB? Turns out Duke didn’t want him for whatever reason and he was desperate to find a team late in the game. Beavis thought they were being a pimp selecting whatever players they wanted from a P4. Surprise! I predicted 7-5 was their upside, but that may be optimistic. Teams like Houston and AP State might just bushwhack them. This was their roster at full strength and it’s not good. The starters are pretty bad and I’m guessing the backups are atrocious. Coaching is also pretty bad. They should have hired the Idaho guy. The new PAC launch is going to be scintillating next year.

Alabama Wiped Out By FSU
The possibility of the SEC opening with 3 top-10 OOC losses in week 1 is most excellent!

Post-Game: So...We OK at QB?
Compare this to our opener against a similar opponent 1 year ago. Overall team looks much better out of the gate. I’d say Dante played as perfectly as possible with the given scenario. No mistakes, nearly perfect decision making, changed protection multiple times…dude has a cannon.

New College Football Playoff Committee Metric Could Endanger Ducks Playoff Hopes
Hence the B1G wanting to expand the playoff to 20+. Sounds absurd on the surface (to me at least), but professional sports leagues typically put around 35 - 40% of their teams into their playoff. Split off 60-70 teams into the new top division, and yep, 40% of 60 would be a 24 team playoff.
