  1. Depends on the outcome, the environment doesn’t seem as tough when you win. Hard to quantify what makes something tough, but we have no shortage of appearances in some of the toughest venues. That being said of the most cited top-10 toughest places to play (which includes Beaver stadium) we’ve actually only played at Ohio Stadium and Autzen to date. So Beaver stadium should be in the running. Two not listed in most lists that are very tough when the teams are good IMO are Martin and Husky stadium.
  2. Indiana is probably pretty good, but I take this as more of a statement about Illinois. Illinois was supposedly good last year and they left zero impression against us as we did our standard 35-3 at the half handling of inferior teams. No legitimate team should get boat raced by a fringe playoff team like they just did.
  3. How’s it going UNC? They’re such a circus. Bubba Cunningham always trying to get a single season sideshow to boost ticket sales and just refuses to take football seriously. There’s way too much talent in that region for UNC and NCState to both consistently be such a clown show.
  4. Run D officially not good. Beavis rushed for 8 yards last week.
  5. They should have fired him last year, but they still worship the guy and allowed him to fire everyone and take a pay cut. I’d be surprised if they fire him before he “resigns” at the end of the year. They aren’t serious about winning beyond making a bowl game imo.
  6. Slippery slope. I mean for anyone who is still into tracking high school kids two years from setting foot on campus, who am I to spoil your fun? I used to do the same thing. That being said, this is exactly why I don’t allow very much of my attention to be held by some random 16 year old. Executive summary for me 😆
  7. My real point is I don’t know how valid season stats are 3 games in when all 3 games were blowouts. We built a commanding lead on the road and put in our walk on QB which enabled the opponents offensive starters to get some disproportionate rushing yards and attempts against our 2nd and 3rd string D. If PSU rushes for 200+ against our starters I’ll change my tune. All IMO of course.
  8. As long as there is never any orange I’m cool.
  9. I’ll just say again that Florida International (house of pancakes) rushed for almost 150 in a blowout loss at Penn State. Do we think PSU will be easy to run against?
  10. We just went through this last year. No reason to suspect we won’t see the exact same caveman football almost every week. The majority of teams in our new league don’t like the forward pass. We were ahead of a conference foe 31-0 on the road after three quarters, and they were still running the ball…that tells me all I need to know.
  11. I’d say zero alert personally. Stats in garbage time during a blowout mean absolutely nothing imo. Florida International (house of pancakes) rushed for 141 AT PSU last week. Does that mean we’ll rush for 300?
  12. There are definitely Beavis fans that are getting triggered by this color scheme…thumbs up!
  13. The Oregonian this morning in reference to the game said “it feels less like a forth-coming rivalry game and more like a long-scheduled root canal for the Beavers”. I guess all the predictions of a 10-2 seasons are off the table.
  14. Yes indeed. Both will be in their accustomed positions in their new G6.
  15. My take away is we won by 20 in a dead environment with a 9am start against a B1G roster and didn’t seem to have any injuries. Every year we’re going to have a few workman like games and some of OBD fans will analyze it…a lot. In my rearview mirror personally.
  16. I think there is only room for so many Notre Dames in the television landscape. ND is pretty unique in having already achieved extreme popularity while having always been independent. BYU is a recent example that tried this and failed despite having a very good brand and national following with a religious angle. tOSU is obliviously a huge brand that is currently extremely hot due to on-field success, but it’d be a huge risk for a network to try an exclusive deal that paid more than tOSU currently makes with the B1G. Where does it end? Why not Texas, Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, etc. So I maintain they have no leverage and should be told to sit and spin or to pound sand. There are like 5 universities currently a half-notch below them (half-notch below them as of this moment, subject to change) that’d take their place in a heartbeat.
  17. What is tOSUs leverage? Leaving for the NFL? I’d politely tell them to sit and spin.
  18. They look great! That’s my only beef as well. When we mix and match the different pallets together it doesn’t quite work. I believe there is a green helmet with a black O available btw, it’s pretty boss!
  19. I think I listed on another thread that the thing I was most looking forward to this season was the Moore to Moore connection, so was definitely on my radar. The thing I most underestimated was probably the running back room. We have a very deep and top end crew to survive the long season. Think that position was on fumes late last year.
  20. Weak slate of B1G games and ABC had the “big one”. OBD are top-5 with a conference game, probably the best choice.
  21. I mostly agree, but your last line is key for me. I might be starting to feel empathy towards them if they had joined with their partners in the MWC instead of trying to destroy and now sue them. They put their faith in a lesser version (TG) of the previous conference administration which had the track record of destroying the best conference in the history of college conferences. TG was more interested in keeping her job than doing what was best for the conference IMO. They kept basking in the glory of temporary “bean-counting” victories instead doing what was right in front of them and creating a really good conference that could have started this year. They needed to strike while the iron was hot, instead they dragged things out while their rosters became a joke. The new bottom feeders they added to the new PAC are absolutely no better than the bottom feeders of the MWC. There really is no reasonable explanation for why they didn’t merge, it was the longterm solution right in front of of their face, but they didn’t want to risk sharing their short-term windfall, imo.
  22. I think Beavis has an outside shot at 0-12 now. They’re almost certainly starting 0-6 imo, 1-5 at best. The last 6 games on their schedule are pathetic, but so are they. WSU looks like the better team, and they play twice. Some of those random teams are going to have better athletes than they think. I’d put their ceiling at 4-8 at this point.
