  1. Posturing nonsense IMO. Simple question to ask any “PAC” fan. If your team was invited to any P4 conference today, would you want them to accept? I think we know the answer.
  2. Nice. Fun to see the Rivals team ratings now include avg. NIL with each school. BTW - in the spirit of bullying, according to 247, OSU currently has the #6 2026 class amongst teams that will be in the “PAC” in 2026.
  3. Respectfully, I would say that the PIG-2 entering a scheduling agreement in bad faith with the MWC, and then turning around and strategically poaching MWC members, and then legally fighting poaching fees they agreed to is calling out their hypocrisy, not bullying. IMO the PIG-2 are classic bullies. Can’t compete with someone supposedly in your weight class? Go kick some sand in the face of someone you think can take. Gonna be hilarious watching them fail in a watered down “PAC”.
  4. I’d say odds are slim. Looking at the schedules: - USC could have 4+ losses and a coaching change by November - OSU could happen if they were unbeaten or 2-1, but look impressive against Cal and @Texas Tech. More likely they’ll be 1-2 at best though.
  5. When it comes to USC’s return the last 16 years, all I hear is Charlie Brown listening to adults. 1-2 in “BCS” bowls with zero playoff appearances since PC left. Anything less than 10 wins should be an F minus for USC. LR has done that 2 straight years now, but is somehow being celebrated for apparently having a complete rebuild going into his 4th season.
  6. Much as it pains me, I would guess Baylor gets canceled and replaced by Beavis
  7. There’s a reason they haven’t shared the details of the TV deal. Some unknowns include if they paid extra to entice BSU and SDSU. Don’t forget to throw in Gonzaga getting a full share without a football team. The number I keep hearing is around $65M. Whatever number for a TV deal is finally released is not going to be as clean as dividing by 8.
  8. There’s a reason Vegas always wins. I’d absolutely say it’s a coin flip on 11-1 or 10-2 and no one really knows until we verify QB play a few games in. I would not bet the house on 11-1, but also wouldn’t be shocked if we ran the table again.
  9. So far, looking at those 3 schools to date, what happens on the field is very mixed results!
  10. I used to live and breathe HS recruiting, but I barely pay attention now. One basic premise that is completely out of date IMO is how volume impacts the team rating system. USC has recruited 30 players out of HS for 2026 and has the #1 class….cool story bro. What if your program is in a good place and only needs 13 HS players for 2026? If your coach has been around a while and you still need 30 HS players, that is not a positive in 2025.
  11. Should have just merged with the MWC and secured a $10m - $12m/team media rights deal that included Vegas in their footprint IMO. I could have nearly respected that. Instead the 2 oinkers clutched to their lottery winnings to live “high on the hog” for 18 months.
  12. Also worth noting the Zags are getting a FULL share as a basketball only member.
  13. Number I’m hearing for new TV deal is about $7M-$8M/team. Time will tell. Going to be entertaining watching OSU come in 5th in the new 8 team G6 conference.
  14. Football and football. IMO we’ve become a “football school” but have zero titles, which is something that anyone can throw in our face and there really is no comeback for it. Basketball (both teams) would be nice as well 😂 Sad as it may or may not be, all the other sports really don’t move the needle. IMO, if you ask an average sports fan “who won the last championship?” in baseball, indoor track, etc, they’ll probably have zero idea unless their team happened to be the one.
  15. All theory until there’s high level productivity. Hope he recovers but this is a dude with identical stats all 3 years he’s played at two schools. There’s always the hope of a breakthrough though, high upside.
  16. Which of course is now leading to the unintended consequence of players staying in college until they’re 23+ on a regular basis. Be interesting to see what happens.
  17. Who could forget the shining moment for Ballooning or Life Saving? Chess and Kite Flying also had their glorious appearances. The Olympics have a long history of the host country getting a shot with some sport that won’t last. This is actually on brand and imo is at least an actual sport. BTW I believe FF is part of the 2028 summer games. 2028 LA just around the corner!
  18. So many conundrums. Clearly needs to be a cap, yet no one is authorized to create, let alone enforce one. And yet no matter the rule set, it’s the same teams always on top. I mean, when has USC not had 4 and 5 star talent the last 25 years?
  19. Just curious why would people not watch OBD on Peacock? I’m not a fan of the service or anything, but it comes for free with my Xfinity internet, and would cost $8 for a month if I didn’t get it for free. To me, seeing a Duck game or two for $8 is less than a trip to Starbucks…so I’m genuinely curious why no Peacock?
  20. Right on. IMO - As soon as things moved to a playoff instead of a massive bowl system by invitation, the notion of a “league” with 130 teams for the “big boys” became ridiculous.
  21. One thing he’s right about, the conference championship game is devalued and should just be eliminated. The minute the field expanded from four the conference championship games became as meaningful as bowl games, imo.
  22. https://maaw.info/GadgetsandGames/APFinalFootballRankings.htm Fun game, pick any random year from 1950 on. It’s almost impossible to land on a year that doesn’t have a top-10 with at least 6 teams currently in the Big-2. More often than not you’ll find 7-8 such teams. If FSU, Miami, and ND were to move to the big-2 the ratio becomes ridiculous.
  23. Final Poll History I get into this stuff quite a bit, but take a look at 2001 and 2025. A good sampling of different eras spanning a quarter century. It’s pretty much the same list. The precipitous drop of Colorado really stands out when looking year to year, youch. Just a wild guess that this will look 90% similar in 2035. The same schools will all continue to adapt, though they’ll almost all be in two much larger conferences, most likely 😆
  24. Spot on article. It seems like there will be years when what you have on the roster at QB will be better than what’s out there in the portal market, and I think this was one of those years. We’ve had a history of great and not so great transfers at QB. IMO this is the beauty of the college game, no one knows for sure.
