  1. So many memories. Of course, it starts when tickets could be bought the day of the game. You could go and have a nice pleasant afternoon with a few of your friends. I don't remember specifics, but I know I went to a game when the Ducks hosted the Ilini, the Ducks won. I also remember a game against the Trojans and Ricky Bell ran wild. Of course, the BYU game, where the Ducks clobbered Ty Detmer, and it might not rain in Autzen Stadium, but I was there on the day that WSU beat the Ducks, 50-41, and Reuben Mayes ran for 357 yards in a snowstorm.
  2. At first, I agreed with this. But, in this Transfer Portal time I don't know. Gabriel is working fine, why wouldn't an elite QB slide in and be great next year? Developing a QB also isn't available like it was before. A team will always want to recruit top QB's, and Oregon is doing that, but the transfer is always an option.
  3. Junior quarterback Luke Altmyer is having a great season with his 66 completion percentage 66% get out of here, 66%! Dillon Gabriel 84%
  4. Try 95.3 The Score, or 1080 The Fan
  5. USC football fans might not watch the Trojans on Nov. 2 at Washington SPORTS.YAHOO.COM Wait a minute, wait a minute. It's blasphemy, sacrilege, to entertain the idea that USC football fans are simply going to turn away...
  6. Agree with you here. The mark of being elite is being elite every year. Start every season in the top 5 and finish there every year. I know that a lot of coaches aren't matching Lanning and the staff when it comes to recruiting/portal, and that will keep the Ducks in the mix for the Natty year in and year out.
  7. I can't fit Essig on my Ducks Mt. Rushmore, (Ronnie Lee, Sabrina Ionescu, Pre, Marcus Mariota) but he is a Ducks legend.
  8. Me and my aircraft carrier were stationed in Bremerton at the time and I was in Husky Stadium, resplendent in Duck gear watching the Ducks beat the Huskies, 34-10, in 1980. Reggie Ogburn a lot of fun to watch.
  9. While I deplore U$C and their sycophants, like Cowherd and JFOK, I won't dismiss them. They won't ever be the Carroll teams again, but with a competent coach they'll be competitive.
  10. I'm surprised tat while it was at it, the NCAA didn't mandate that the clocks go to10th's like basketball does. 95% of the time the clock is at 0 before every play starts.
  11. I wouldn't be that worried about Prime, as far as I can tell he's still, "Playin' for clicks." DeBoer would be a huge upgrade over Riley, as would Rhule. Indiana didn't plan on this kind of season when they hired Cignetti, they better have a new deal for him soon, he would get USC winning again,
  12. They tried. "It looks like they hired the wrong guy. They should’ve went and got Dan Lanning from Oregon,” Smith said. “The personality, to go from Nick Saban to DeBoer, it just seems like night and day. The level of accountability, the defense, the fluidity. I mean the roughriders, you don’t seem to be there. Listen, it’s bad. Because not only do they have two losses in the last three weeks, they should’ve lost to South Carolina. They should’ve lost three straight. I’m very, very disgusted. … It almost seems like the AD said, ‘You know what, I’ve been so exhausted dealing with Saban over the years, I need somebody that’s a bit more pleasant and ain’t going to hold me too accountable’ or something. I just don’t like what I’m seeing at Alabama right now. I’m very disgusted.”
  13. The last few years, the best Pac-12 team was UCLA Softball, but they, and everybody else, couldn't touch Oklahoma, who could be on a Wooden-like dynasty.
  14. If I was going to compare Illinois to a former Pac-12er, I'd go with Arizona, Some good players, usually good for 8 or 9 wins. You can't look past them, but this is one where Oregon's biggest opponent is definitely Oregon.
  15. It's very likely that the playbook is still full of stuff we haven't seen, but whatever those plays are, they aren't going to explode like they did last year. Jordan James is a beast, but he isn't Bucky Irving, no breakaway runs are going to happen, It will simply take more time and more plays for this Oregon team to get touchdowns on the ground. On the other hand. As soon we were wondering when we're going to see Stewart, he has been incredible! Hard to remember a Duck WR having better back to back games than he's had against OSU and Purdue, and I expect the same against Illinois.
  16. Spoiled Children is exactly what they are. They should have been better than they were, we see the work and effort that Lanning and the Ducks are doing, think Carroll's Trojans matched it? Now Riley? JFOK with the "4 plays away from being undefeated" is the enabling attitude that won't allow USC to get better.
  17. What if Missouri beats Alabama? Something will definitely explode then.
  18. Agree. With Riley, they did better than USC is doing, but it was still a Heisman producer, not a win producer. If they don't start winning Sooner than Later it will be too late.
  19. Personally, I'll take the Fighting Ducks over the Fightin' Illini any day, particularly this Saturday. Illinois football has chance to cause chaos and reshape the College Football Playoff WRITINGILLINI.COM Seven games into the season, and the Illinois football team is in the hunt for the prestigious College Football Playoff. Those are words...

  21. Darren, at this point, to discuss USC is to disparage USC, Joel Full of KLATT says their ""4 plays from being undefeated", but JFOK also was sure that Oregon would struggle at Purdue, so credibility there. Of course this isn't new. LA columnists have been sounding the alerts about USC football for years. Former Trojans are sick of seeing their legacy tarnished. Yeah, they just got another Heisman to put in Heritage Hall, that's what Riley does. But they aren't winning, and TV? The Trojans are on at 8:00, on Friday this week against Rutgers, while the Lakers and Dodgers are playing. DAT picked Oregon over USC, and Oregon has been taking the best from Bosco and Mater Dei ever since. USC football commits are turning into gymnasts with their flipping skills. It never rains in Autzen Stadium, and the Coliseum is leaking.
  22. Oregon is now becoming what I hear being called a Force Multiplier when it comes to recruiting. Great players want to play together, when one of them signs with a team, others get in line, add to that Oregon's Brand, Division Street, for NIL, recruiting is going to get better and better and better...
