Rankings shouldn't be done before week 4, and pre-season hype is what it is, hype. This Oregon team might have the most "talent" ever assembled, but that shouldn't have been enough to anoint them champions. Me too. It's too bad that college football has come down to a "Have vs Have Not" paradigm, but I'm glad the Ducks are part of the former. I don't watch movies like I used to. The last time I went to a movie, I bought the ticket at the window, and got change back for the 10. Now, a ticket has to be purchased on line, and a 10 won't do it. We laugh at the Huskies and their Championship. But I like the way they got it more than the way a championship is won now. Besides money, the Powers that be (SEC. ESPN) wanted a clear cut champion. Part of the fun back in the day was the battle of the AP and UPI polls. All year, arguments ensued. Now the arguments are about seeding. Bowl games were great. Players didn't think of opting out. The Ducks didn't win a lot when I first started watching. Back then a fan could shout at Norval Turner on the field, and he'd hear it. Now Oregon is a Brand. Definitely a Have and I'm happy for that. I'll never stop watching college football, especially OBD, but it isn't the same.
