  1. My lasting image of the Chip years are the running backs. LMJ gets the ball, makes a cut, and he's gone! Barner, or Tyner, are we ever going to forget his spin move?
  2. Thanks for the great article, Annie, and appropriately it's from Forbes, a magazine that deals with finance. The problem with the NCAA is that it sat around doing nothing about the issues that the players were talking about. When it finally did take action, it's to get rid of the transfer rule about players having to sit out a year? Now the NIL has resulted in chaos that needs to have some kind of structure and its past record doesn't indicate that the NCAA is up to the task.
  3. It has never in any sport, at any level, been based on "performance". It's much more on potential. KT isn't being talked about being the No. 1 or No.2 pick in the NFL Draft because of his injury laden performance at Oregon. I don't think anybody believes that Williams is going to take Eastern Michigan's offer, but do teams know where the floor is now?
  4. This Husky Honk gets it Dude, days of Don James is about as relevant as Blockbuster is to movie streaming. Who the heck cares about how things used to be and how they worked out back in the 80's? And then it ends, Short of some miracles, forget 1991, we'll be lucky to get back to 2019 in the next 5 years.
  5. I think there is a lot to that, and was it too much for Helton to overcome? With Carroll it worked because the talent was so much it didn't matter. Carroll actually was what Mario wants to be. He didn't get in the way of Reggie Bush, but the strength of his Trojans were in the trenches and the defense in particular. Riley is great on offense, and that is what we've seen him attract since showing up at SC, but his Sooners weren't effective on defense, and I doubt Riley is going to change his game plan.
  6. I actually would take that bet. With the team headed to the SEC and Riley to USC, I think most saw Williams leaving, Sooner than later.
  7. Nick Saban Takes Issue with Proposed College Football Playoff Expansion I don't see the logic in it
  8. Great perspective. What does an A+ mean? Does Dodd believe that Riley is getting USC to the CFP? He definitely has USC fans excited, as Lanning has Oregon's, and Lanning gets a B. Tedford got an A at Fresno State,
  9. It would just be the right thing to do, look what happened to "Softy". With all the talent in the state up north, JTT last year, Josh Connerly this season, Under Dan Lanning, Oregon must recruit the state of Washington better. Matt Prehm 247 sports Bobby Moore, Jonathan Stewart are from Washinton
  10. And even more luck if Georgia thinks Stetson is going to manage a win for the Bulldogs. Getting the payback against Alabama won't come because you're both playing for the same thing. As Mike W kept saying, "Alabama's going to win" Right now I'd take Alabama with Georgia -3.
  11. They are chuckling. It wasn't that long ago that at least we all had the illusion that where the young man chose to play football was a very serious one. But today, Caleb and his family are "Chuckling" about where Caleb will take his talent to.
  12. Dan Lanning is a master multi-tasker. While he's busy getting Georgia's defense ready to beat Alabama and win the championship, he's put together a high charged coaching staff, and made recruiting a priority. One of the big benefits obviously being at Oregon is it's a national brand Dan Lanning On Ducks: We Can Go Anywhere and be able to Sign Players Zachary Neel Ducks Wire
  13. He's from Seattle, so just like JTT, has the Huskies in the mix, but can't believe they're really in play.
  14. Kobe Hudsen, Nix's teammate at Auburn is an intriguing option because of their familiarity. But would that create a tension overriding the benefit?
  15. Nick Saban wins because not only does he have the "Jimmie's and Joe's" he knows the X's and O's better than other coaches. He went from pound it up the middle, to up tempo, from Greg McElvoy to Bryce Young. Mario didn't dp anything to keep the 10 year old's awake past halftime of "Pac-12 After Dark", it was hard enough for most of us. But Riley at USC,and Lanning hopefully will have their teams playing a style of football that not only will keep the audience awake, but keep the players at home.
  16. Saban and Alabama don't want an expanded Playoff, and those with him say it will still be Alabama in the Championship game anyway, so why bother. This myopic look is the problem, even Paul Finebaum can see it. The NFL has 24 out of 32 teams in contention for the Playoffs through the final game, which this season is between the Raiders and the Chargers! As we know, not even 10 of the top 25 college teams have a shot at the CFP by November. Paul Finebaum understands that this is killing interest in the sport. That expanding the playoffs, taking it out of the hands of the Committee would be a good thing. Alabama would still be the favorite.
  17. This is a great sign to me that Lanning isn't star chasing.
